We left early on a beautiful day at the start of Autumn and were super impressed with the beauty that unfolded before our eyes. The river, the settlements, the locks (just wow!) and the complete package of catered boat trip with locks included, a port winery tour and spectacular viewpoint at the end of our day meant that this trip will go down in the memory banks as one of the best days. Thank you so much!

The experience was terrible. I won't recommend it to anyone. I've never been treated so badly in my whole life. Unfortunate, from breakfast to the end of the trip. I went in a couple and they put them in tables that we didn't even know anyone. The breakfast was very poor and at lunch they told me that I couldn't repeat, it was portion food, everything rationed, we didn't admit, we paid huge and there was no minimum of quality service. In addition to being little food they had the fun of saying that I could not ask for a little more meat, the little that put me in the plate.
On the part of the drink, neither I nor my boyfriend wanted to drink wine at the meal so they put for the two a bottle of water of 0.50ml, ordered in the middle of lunch another bottle, which at the end of lunch already tired of asking told me that they were no longer useful.
I felt like I was being stolen and deceived with shameful care.
I will not repeat and I only regret the money and especially the lost time.

We did the PORTO – RÉGUA – PORTO CRUISE WITH A WINE ESTATE VISIT AND DESCENT BY TRAIN.
We paid 977 Euros and we were shocked to find out that not every person with a ticket was guaranteed a seat on the top deck. Neither my parents (74 and 77 years), nor us (4 adults) or our children (6yrs, 9 yrs, 12 and 13 yrs old) had any chair to sit on during the trip when we were not in the galley eating. We spent hours standing up (!) or sitting on the hard deck in the blazing heat (without shade) from 8.30am to 3.30pm (excluding lunch).
Had we known that seats were not guaranteed we would not have booked. Furthermore, the food at lunch was terrible.. soup (!) and dry pork sliced piled in a center dish, with frozen boiled vegetables. If you're unlucky enough to get a middle table you see jacks*t of the river.
We spent close to 1000eurs.
A total shame and scam.
We will not be recommending your tour to anyone.

Thank you for your comment, which deserves our attention!
Your statements are serious in accusing us of fraud...
Nowhere on the website does it say that you are guaranteed a place on the outdoor deck. The outdoor deck is free for all to use with a few chairs and a bar so people can breathe fresh air and enjoy the scenery. It's impossible to spend all your time on the outside deck because of the high temperatures in the Douro. We don't understand why you wanted to spend the whole trip on the outside deck. The reserved seats are always on the inside deck where you can have breakfast and lunch and stay for the whole time as the inside is air-conditioned.
As for the food, we're not going to discuss your tastes, as it's a typical Portuguese dish and is highly rated by many customers.
We're sorry that your trip didn't go as planned.

We did the "Douro Sublimado" family program, everything went very professionally.
The João received us on time, was always nice, great driving and always available.
We were properly installed in a mercedes wagon (only for us), small ride in the rule and dam.
We went to the wine tasting where Maria also received us with all her sympathy and explained us the whole process (3 wines, bread/cheese).
Rise to the viewpoint and magnificent lunch in a traditional farm where Mr. George and his family presented us with their hospitality (the post was divine)!
Returning to the rule we embarked on the cruise to the pignon where we ⁇ the experience of passing through the dam and ⁇ the magnificent views of the Douro valley!
We're back to the train rule.

A quite unpleasant cruise overall which is a shame as we were supposed to be admiring the natural beauty. The biggest issue was the lack of shade options on the top deck and faulty working air con below deck. Two easy fixes for a 9-hour cruise to Pinhao in summer heat. The tiny space that was available on the top deck had several smokers - adding to the problem.
The other issue is the audio. Not the actual music choice, but the antiquated speakers producing a 9-hour grating tinny sound with a repetit playlist which was a sensory overload. Because of the sound quality, the tour commentry could not be heard.
For such a long journey, the chairs were uncomfortable, hard, wooden dining chairs below deck or hard plastic on deck.
Food was ok, but serving a hot soup starter hot plate of roast pork in midday 35-degree heat is beyond me! Squash and terrible coffee served.
The pomp and ceremony revolving the dining was unesseary and old fashioned.
False advertising - the Porto-Pinhao boat in the website picture isn't the one you ride! The staff worked very hard in difficult conditions.

Bad service.
We booked a one-day boat trip regua- barca-de-alva and notified us 5 days in advance (with a weekend and a holiday in between) that the cruise was canceled without explaining the reason and giving us no valid alternatives. unless a full refund (as if it could be any other way) or enjoy the experience 7 days later.....
We opted for a refund, and showed our displeasure at the lack of justification for the cancellation and for not being given viable alternatives (we have a 2 year old baby and are not close to us, which was not taken into account in the slightest).
They responded that the cancellation was because they didn't have enough people (there were 5 days left for the experience) and worse, they didn't refund immediately, so I will only receive the amount over the weekend and public holiday, Tuesday.
Poor customer service, amateurish and not prioritizing the customer at all.

The overall experience was good due to the environment in which it takes place, but the breakfast and food left a lot to be desired. At breakfast, sachet juice, coffee that looks like water and no healthy options like fruit or similar. And then you watch later as the waiters serve eggs, bananas and other options in front of you. For lunch, an industrial and unknowing vegetable cream, a tough meat and, as a vegetarian/vegan option, a frozen and reheated lasagna. In addition, the rice accompaniment is served in a bowl in the center of the table to share without taking into account that the people you sit with are total strangers. But the worst of all was the hygiene and quality of the staff's service. The waiters passing plates over the entire table, keep the cutlery or glasses that have not been used during the service at the end of the day as clean despite people having been eating in the same place. Basically, a pretty expensive service for what they actually show you afterwards.

A disaster. If I went back in time I WOULD NOT GO BACK.
The positives were few: the staff was very friendly, the views were beautiful, the train ride back along a very nice route and the winery experience was quite good.
What we didn't like:
- Continental breakfast with terrible coffee, powdered juice and jam that was gelatin with sugar.
- The food is even worse, dry chicken, tasteless vegetables, dusty soup, terrible wine and hard rice.
- The boat has capacity for 100 people, but not chairs for 100 people and the crew confirms this: it is planned that travelers will take turns in chairs, but on a 4-hour trip no one wants to stand, so the logistics It's quite complicated.
- They distribute the tables according to their opinion and at the table you share everything with people you don't know and who are more or less polite and clean...

Well organised, incl. meals and travel to relevant places (winery, viewpoint).
Meals are tasty and good value.
Multiple views during travel, incl. 2 locks and explanations (PT, GB, FR).
