Our guide, Javier, was friendly and knowledgeable. He took obvious pride in welcoming us to his city and showing us some of the hidden corners. Although we only booked a tour of the castle, he took the time to tell us about some of the surrounding buildings and local culture.
We were a little late as we got slowed down by the queue for the lift. He came to find us and told us that there are also buses and taxis that can take one to the top. Worth knowing if you plan to visit.
The castle is beautiful. Well maintained and boasts truly stunning views in every direction.
Javier, entertained us with some of the local myths that really helped to bring the history to life.
It was a really wonderful way to find out about the history of the area and what's important to the Alicante people.
Thanks Javier for making our visit so fun and memorable.

A fabulous castle which is well preserved and providing stunning viewing points over all of the Alicante region.
We walked up to the castle from the harbour (which is also lovely) through some classic old Spanish whitewashed housing streets. Stopped half way for a small beer / coffee.
It’s a strenuous walk but if you do it in short bursts like we did then it is is easily manageable. The views as you ascend are excellent
The castle itself is really nice with bars dotted throughout and stunning 360 views around Alicante.
We aren’t much for studying the castle history but it is truly well worth the effort for the views

You need to get early if you want to take the elevator up but it just fantastic once you are up the views are fantastic. bring good walking shoes could be slippery when walking around

We had a little trouble finding the start time before our tour. FInally found it in the “contact us” section the night before. Once Javi met us, it was an amazing tour and we learned so much about Alicante! Javi is very passionate and proud of his city and was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide! Would highly recommend this tour!

Härlig stad, nära till allt. Vi bodde ca 200 m från gamla stan o 500 m till beachen. Massor med restauranger o barer. Mycket folk ute mitt i veckan. Åker gärna dit igen…

Fantastic place to visit. Lovely, but steep walk and very pleased to find no entrance charge. The views are incredible and there are many boards around to give an overview of the history which is also really fascinating. Be careful that one of the routes down is closed half way Dow, and it’s a long and steep walk back up, but apart from that only positive things to report. If in Alicante you must make the effort to visit.

Città stupenda ed accogliente. Un salto al castello non si può non fare! Noi abbiamo preso l'ascensore e poi siamo scese a piedi. Il castello è davvero stupendo e grande, si gode di una vista mozzafiato.
