Firas is the best guide ever! He’s caring, fun, knowledgeable, sweet, professional, he speaks perfect Japanese, teaches you all the useful tips to have a great experience in Japan, he loves the country, the local food, and he knows every single aspect of the places he shows you.
Very enthusiastic and passionate person, the most adorable guide you can ever ask for.
He even paid for us sandwiches and water at the brood the tour!!
The only small issue was that he didn’t tell us that to go the the Enoshima caves we had to go down and go back up 300 steps; the next day we were exhausted and sore!
Nevertheless, Firas passed all our expectations and went above and beyond: we rate him 10/10!!!

I had only a short time in Japan before heading to Kyoto, so I had selected the shorter walking tour. Lauren was an excellent guide and quite knowledgeable. I also appreciated how she showed me how to use the transit system, which I was quite scared by. Because of that, I was able to head out to various places afterwards on my own without getting too lost. (Which, for someone like me, is a miracle.)

Our tour of Tokyo was great! We were fortunate enough to have Saya as our guide. She contacted us prior to the tour to understand what we were interested in seeing/doing. From there she created a custom itinerary specific to our interests. She was very personable and knowledgeable about Tokyo. We were able to see a lot of the city, learn the train system and learn about Japanese culture. And we made a new friend. Highly recommend the tour. Ask for Saya.

I’m a terrible tourist; I didn’t know where to go. Luckily, Lauren was there to guide me every step of the way and to provide commentary about the places we went through/stopped at. One of the most useful things she showed me was how to purchase a kippu to ride the local transit! Thank you so much for making my trip so enjoyable!

Our sake tour with Steven was awesome. His English was superb, which was helpful as we had lots of questions for him about Japanese culture. He gave an informative sake tasting, but we enjoyed just hanging out with him just as much! Would definitely recommend a tour with Steven and would use him again if we make it back to Japan in the future.

We enjoyed a wonderful day with Saya, enjoying activities we requested, and others we wouldn’t have known about otherwise! She is personable and outgoing, and as an added benefit, Saya helped us learn how to navigate the subway system! (Btw, Saya, we took the subway many times after our tour, so again, thank you!) We highly recommend this tour, and Saya in particular. Thank you, Saya!

Our guide, Hiroto, was great. He was able to create an itinerary for us very quickly and was very flexible with our interests. Would do it again in a heartbeat and just let him take us wherever!

Saya was amazing she was so nice and made our tour feel very special. She really took our interest to harry and during the tour found a cool GUNDAM shop where I actually won a GUNDAM from a gotcha pod in the store. She made sure we were always comfortable always offering breaks and stops for meals or rest. By the end of the tour it felt like an outing with a friend.

We had a great time with Yuko on a recent layover tour between HND and NRT. She scoped out several potential luggage storage options and they were quite convenient—we had no issues getting a locker at Kesey Ueno. She was very flexible and crafted a good mix of things to see since I simply wanted to go to Asakusa; she took us there and explained the cultural aspects and style of worship; the fortunes, Buddhist and Shinto custom; we saw the kitchenwares street and I nabbed a wonderful little set of panda bear soy sauce dishes that color in the panda as the sauce fills the dish. She helped us navigate the subway, found a wonderful little snack/cake shop, and took us around Ueno—all in just four hours! We found her to be an excellent guide and a charming companion. He English was flawless. Truly had a great time and would seek out Yuko and cityunscripted again on any other trip to Tokyo.

Hi. We will be arriving in Tokyo on Aug 6 and are looking for a 9 or 10 day tour around Japan. I know that it needs to be a "government approved" tour guide. There are 4 of us. Does your company do that, and if not, can you recommend someone who does?

What is the best way to get from Haneda airport to downtown where the tour will be? We have a 12 hour layover tomorrow and want to see a bit of Tokyo during that time.

Hi, would you be able to pick us up at the cruise ship terminal? My Aunt and I are looking for someone to take us around between the hours of 4pm-9pm but we'd need to be picked up and dropped off at the cruise ship terminal. Let me know if we should book or not with you... Also, we realize we'd mainly be going around in the evening so some sites might be closed but I'm sure there's plenty to see regardless. I have never been to Tokyo before and were not particular about what we see/don't see but....again, let me know if it's ok to hire someone between 4pm-9pm and also please let us know if a cruise terminal pick-up/drop-off is possible. Thanks!

Hi. I'm looking at booking this tour for 2 of us. Is it 8 hours with just us 2 and the guide? If we want to go somewhere that requires tickets, does the guide wait for us or do we have to buy them a ticket to go in with us? What about for the subways? Do they try to stay map out our day so in different areas?

Hello,
When we booked our tour through Cityunscripted there was 5 in our group. The guide met us at the hotel with a itinerary worked out through email contact prior to our trip. We had only booked 4 hours but the tour did go a half hour overtime. Our guide paid all her own travel expenses on the subway and JR rail. We did go into a garden that had a entrance fee. We offered to pay our guides admission but she refused our offer. Enjoy your trip, hope this answer was helpful.
