Jeremy was very knowledgeable and entertaining. He was full of interesting facts and anecdotes, as well as very wild and entertaining stories. We saw lots of beautiful shrines and temples as well as a side of Tokyo that we may not have seen otherwise. Would definitely recommend his tour!

We could not have had a better guide. The day was absolutely remarkable from beginning to end. Jeremy Owen took us deep into the country to see a number of shrines. He told us about the history of each place and related stories. He knew the area extremely well. He answered all of our questions and was very patient. A truly enjoyable day. I highly recommend. Thank you, Jeremy.

Enjoyed ourselves on our day out of Tokyo. Our guide Jeremy picked us up from our hotel. He was full of interesting facts and anecdotes, woven with his own personal experiences. His Honda van was spacious and comfortable. It handled the narrow roads and tight corners confidently. We were treated to crisp clear air in the countryside, gorgeous views, the serenity & colourful history of several shrines, a scenic drive around a man-made lake and even a stroll next to a beautiful graveyard. Lunch was al fresco with rolling mountains as our backdrop. Plenty of opportunities for great photos.
This private tour is highly recommended for those who prefer a customised, personal touch, with an emphasis on Japanese culture and practices, or for those who simply want to appreciate the tranquil beauty of Nature. If you're tired of tours to the usual spots and not keen on jostling with other tourists, this tour is for you!

Jeremy is an excellent tour guide who is very knowledgeable about the countryside.

Jeremy is a great tour guide as he has the experience (lived in Japan for 27 years but has lived in many other countries as well), the passion for various religions and history, and the unique perspective on various topics. We enjoyed being in the countryside for a day full of temple-hopping, good food and great views from the mountains.
We also appreciated his new minivan which was clean and very comfortable!

Jeremy was interesting and knowledgeable about the countryside outside of Tokyo. He made the tour very easy as he picked me up from my hotel and dropped me back in his clean new van. It was good to see rural Japan. His English is excellent.

My experience was excellent. The owner, Jeremy, picked me up at my hotel... Turned out I was the only person on the tour! I honestly would have expected for what I paid that it would have been cancelled, but he was enthusiastic about being able to give me a more personalized tour.
He had selected several temples and natural spots, and showed them to me in an order that was educational, as well as building in entertainment. At one point we visited a waterfall and Jeremy paid for us to have salted fish cooked for us as we hiked, and we enjoyed it afterwards. The carvings at the Dragon temple were exceptional, as well as Jeremy's explanations and stories about the locations. He's a real expert and lives in a rice field himself.
Lunch was included in the tour and we stopped at a restaurant with a beautiful view. Saw a macaque monkey near there.
We saw many more entertaining and beautiful temples, and the countryside views made this tour a must if you're visiting Tokyo - and Jeremy, besides being a jack of all trades - is a dedicated and talented tour guide. It really was the highlight of my Tokyo experience. Book it!

The tour with Jeremy was an absolute delight. He was attentive and accommodating towards our family of 5 including 2 elderlies and a 7 years old boy with special needs. The tour started on time and the journey out of the city centre was smooth. We were able to explore the paths less taken, and several scenic locations which cannot be accessible by ordinary modes of transportation. Having lived here for 27 years, Jeremy also kept us entertained throughout the tour with endless stories about Japanese history and his fascinating background. He even bought us lunch at a cute Italian restaurant up in the mountains and gave us a lift into the city at the end of the trip. Could not have been more pleased, would highly recommend.

Highly recommended!
This is a wonderful trip.
There are many secret places you won’t find on the travel guide. The view is absolutely breathtaking and stunning:)
Mr. Owen is a very professional guide and he explained everything in a very detailed way from Japanese local culture to history. The itinerary was well scheduled. Will definitely come again if I have a chance! ☺️
