Absolutely best time with Billy! He was the best guide! Could not have been friendlier and more knowledgeable. We had a fantastic day and Billy was super flexible with us. One of the best tours we’ve done!

Having a guide who is a local of the Highlands is key! Billy was a great guide and was very accommodating for our day. We started our day with a tour of Inverness then onto Loch Ness. We stopped at the ruins of Urquhart Castle, then went to Beauly and were introduced to a dream ring and coffee before going to Robertson’s Farm to meet Jamie McKenzie Fraser and Katie Moran, the highland cows (they were the highlight of the tour, according to my wife). Billy adjusted the tour throughout the day to incorporate things he thought we’d find interesting based on our conversations with him, and this stop to see the highland cows was one of the several examples of how he added little boots of magic to our adventure. We got to see the Clava Cairns and Culloden Battlefield, and learned a lot about both from Billy. We had such a wonderful adventure with him and can’t wait to come back to see more of the highlands with Billy!

A great tour with an inspiring guide. The weather was fantastic. Great to experience West Scotland at a pleasant pace. We became smarter about history and culture.

We, a couple from Berlin ( Germany ) were on tour with Kevin on 10.10.24. He was a fun, entertaining and knowledgeable guide to his homeland for us. We had fun all day, we learned more about Scotland and its people from Kevin than ever before in our lives.
We wanted to get to Loch Ness and we were there and in the mountains above the River Ness and then in Inverness before heading back to the starting point in Invergordon.
8 hours of excursion and not a minute of boredom. We thank Kevin and we thank Scotland for a great day that enriched our lives.

Today was a thrilling day with Kevin. The scenery, stories, fun, kindness. Without a doubt one of the best tours we have ever experienced. Long ago I became committed to private tours. Today reminded me why. I came away enriched and joyful. The memories will last a lifetime. Thank you Kevin.

Great trip with Kevin, a real Highlander. We have seen great places and places (Glen Affric, Caledonian Canal, the Loch and Urquhart Castle). We would definitely book again.

Our guide , Billy, was wonderful. He was kind, funny and full of information. We could not have asked for a better guide. We had a private tour (there were 4 of us) and he took us to big stops like Loch Ness and Urquhart Castle and to small, not as well known local spots. He made sure we saw everything we wanted to see and got us back to our ship in plenty of time. Please do not hesitate to book this trip. It was an incredible day.

Kevin was wonderful guide. He took us to some beautiful of the beaten track places with breathtaking views. He is also a fountain of information and little stories that bring the Highland experience to life. The weather was cloudy which gave the whole landscape even more character. Lastly, the van was very comfortable and Kevin is a great, relaxed driver.

April 30, 2024: This was our first visit to Scotland, and our adventure started in Inverness with me, wife Kathy, and sisters-in-law Chris and Judy. Lawrence greeted us at the Inverness airport after a 10-hour flight from Phoenix, AZ. We hit the ground running with little sleep on the plane. Lawrence had a nice Mercedes van which was extremely comfortable and luxurious. Before we checked into our hotel, we first visited the Balnuaran of Clava. There we walked among the cairns which were built 4,000 years ago by local farmers to bury their dead. Lawrence was deeply knowledgeable of this spot and gave us a guided tour of Cairns and all its history.
He shared interesting trivia about the tall thin slab of stone. It was the inspiration of Diana Gabaldon who wrote the Outlander novels. The slab here was where Claire Randall time traveled to 18th century Scotland.
Next, Lawrence took us to Battle of Culloden, (Culloden, Scotland) where the Jacobite army was outnumbered and defeated by the British army in 1746. Only 50 Brittish soldiers were killed compared to 1,500 Jacobite's killed. It was a beautiful day to be outside visiting these two historical sites.
Lawrence then dropped us off at Kingsmill Hotel which was a beautiful and comfortable hotel.
Day 2, we had Billy, Lawrence’s brother, as our tour guide. He was fantastic. Because the women blew their curling irons (curling tongs as they are called in Scotland) Billy searched online and called multiple stores to see if they had replacements. He finally found 2 which he ordered online at Argos, and we picked them up before heading out for the day. Billy really went above and beyond for a tour guide. I am sure he will not have an experience like this again too soon.
We spent the day visiting some beautiful churches in Inverness, visiting, and feeding the highland cows Katie and Jamie at the Robertsons Farm, Dunrobin Castle, and Dornoch Cathedral.
Day 3, Billy was driving us to Edinburgh, and once again it was a beautiful day. We left our Kingsmill Hotel for the last time and had a full day of driving and sightseeing to look forward to.
We visited Invergarry Castle, Urquhart Castle, Fort Augustus on Loch Ness, Bridge of Oich, and watched the boats being transported through the Fort Augustus Locks. We also visited the Well of The Seven Heads Monument in Invergarry. Continuing to Edinburgh, we stopped at the Commando Memorial, which was a memorial for the Commandos who gave their lives during WWII. Next, we stopped at the visitor center at Ballachulish, Glencoe where we viewed the beautiful mountains including “Three Sisters.” It was a short visit due to an unexpected power outage. It was still a beautiful visitor center, and the mountains were beautiful. Along the drive, Billy shared with us some classic Scottish music, “Caledonia,” “Come by the Hills,” “Nae Union,” and many others. The music really complimented the scenery. Our brief and last stop before arriving in Edenborough was the Falls of Dochart in Killin. Billy safely delivered us to the Virgin Hotel, which was our home in Edinburgh for the next three days.
We all highly recommend Lawrence and Billy as private tour guides. They were so friendly and accommodating. They did not rush us at any time while we were in their hands. Sometimes we modified our tour on the fly depending on what we were interested in seeing. If we could give Lawrence and Billy more than a five-star rating, we would.
