Great private birdwatching tour, learning about the local lagoon and the many types of birds it attracts, which we saw through a high quality telescope & binoculars, very knowledgable guide and interesting birds!

It was a wonderful day birding in the Alentejo. Rui was an excellent guide and did a fantastic job at finding the secret spots for specialty species, but also balancing it with enjoying the beautiful scenery of the Alentejo and Castro Verde, and having a few laughs. Some of the highlight species included Little Bustard, 5 Spanish Imperial Eagles, European Roller. As a young birder from the northeastern U.S, I had an incredible time birding a new country, and enjoying everything that the Alentejo has to offer. Overall, it was an awesome experience and I would highly recommend birding with Rui on one of his tours.

Rui was an excellent guide and knew the area perfectly, spotting birds with ease and explaining their migration patterns, rarity and what to look for to confirm their identity. He was kind and charismatic and the whole day was wonderful. 11 lifers for me and a perfect experience!

As we were staying in Lagos Rui met us at the Alvor lagoon. It was great, we saw more than forty different species. I highly recommend him as a knowledgeable, friendly guide, he had a lot of patience with our nine year old grandson and we all learnt a lot from him.

The tour was very nice, beautiful birds! We loved it and totally recommend, ir was a very nice time at Lagoa dos Salgados.
