Maurice was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. He speaks many languages and was able to explain so much regarding each animal we saw. He is literally a fountain of knowledge. His communication was great prior and he helped us with getting the bus to the park and back from Jaco. He was really helpful in assisting people to get photographs. My partner and I had such a good time with Maurice and was sad when the tour ended. The nice thing about Carera is that it is a lot less busy but still got to see so many different animals thanks to Maurice! Thank you!

We tried to book a last minute tour through Viator but it didn't work out so we drove to the Park, bought entrance tickets there and we were able to hire a local guide, Antonio, who was absolutely fantastic. Had we just walked through the park on our own we would have seen nothing but with Antonio, and his telescope, we saw an incredible assortment of birds and animals, including macaws, toucans, howler monkeys and the ever-abundant capuchin monkeys. We chose to skip the crocodiles, mostly out of fear!
Antonio speaks excellent English and has a thorough knowledge of the park and the animals. You won't regret it if you hire him as your guide.

Unbedingt buchen, wenn man alles über Tier und Pflanzenwelt Costa Rica wissen will und Spaß versteht

Wir waren bereits seit mehr als 2 Wochen in Costa Rica und haben viel gesehen und uns hat alles sehr gut gefallen. Wir wollten aber unbedingt noch den roten Ara sehen. Also sind wir in den N. P. Carara gefahren.
Zum Glück haben wir da Maurice Vasquez getroffen. Englisch ist zwar kein Problem für uns, aber es war trotzdem sehr angenehm, dass er perfekt deutsch spricht. Er ist Hamburger. Also unser Landsmann. Das Beste war die Frage, was willst du sehen? Was soll ich sagen? Wenn möglich erfüllt er dir jeden Wunsch. Du musst es nur sagen und er findet die Tier/ Pflanzenart, was immer du suchst. Mehrere Master in diversen Biologie Sparten helfen natürlich. Er hat ein fundiertes Wissen. Daneben ist er auch noch symphatisch und kann auch kulinarisch gute Tipps geben. Wenn ich noch einmal nach Costa Rica reise versuche ich ihn als Organisator zu buchen. Sehr zu empfehlen. Bitte mit Astra Pils versorgen, (Hamburgensie) den Mann, haha.

Maurice was an excellent guide that knew literally everything about the park. He was very enthusiastic and helpful to our group of 5. The Carara National Park was way less traffic than Manuel Antonio and had plenty to see in our 3 hr tour. We saw plenty of birds, including Maccaws & monkeys. Having Maurice as our guide really made the trip worthwhile as we surely would have walked right by many points of interest. He is highly recommended!!

Great tour with Maurice (MVP tours). It made the world of difference to do Carara Park with him as a guide as he pointed out many birds, rare frogs, white bat and the monkeys. He is fun, knowledgeable and great with engaging kids too. Thanks for the great tour!

If you are looking for the full experience of Carara National Park and surrounding area, you must go with Maurice (Mo) Vasquez! We met Mo while we were exploring the park on our own and he was so friendly and helpful that we ended up scheduling both a morning boat tour on the Tarcoles River and hike in Carara on two different occasions and they were fantastic both times. There is no way we would have seen 1/16th of what we saw had we not been with Mo. Mo is very knowledgeable and it was clear that he loves the area and that it mattered to him what you wanted to see. I would recommend both tours because of the variety of birds you will see. Kingfishers, Herons, Toucans, Scarlet Macaws, Red-capped and Orange Collared Manakins and even a Bay-headed Tanager. Highly recommend! Maurice (Mo) Vásquez led an incredible tour around the park. He was very knowledgeable on all the wildlife and trees/plants while also keeping the your light and funny. It was a very enjoyable tour!

We found Maurice through this site and he was all that we had hoped for!. He was an excellent guide through Carara National Park. We particularly appreciated his bird watching expertise - he has this incredible skill of knowing which page in the bird guide each of birds he spots is on. His high powered telescope made viewing the wildlife "up close and personal" and his assistance with taking photos of the wildlife with our camera, through the telescope lens, was very much appreciated. We enjoyed our tour with him so much, we booked again for the next week, and we booked Maurice for our Manuel Antonio visit.. Highly recommend.

I reached out to Maurice @ MVP Tours via his What's App number to schedule tours of Carara National Park as well as the Crocodile River Tour on the Tarcoles River for a group of 12. These two attractions are close by each other, so it's easy to do both in one day. Maurice was easy to communicate with and schedule, and he even helped us to arrange transportation from Jaco.
Maurice was an excellent guide for both tours - both knowledgeable and helpful - and we enjoyed his company for the day. The river tour was on a newer boat in much better condition than many we saw on the river that day.
On top of it all, Maurice's prices are very reasonable.
