A great way to spend half the day

Had a great time not least because I happened to be the only person on that day so I got a private tour from Anna Maria, who was very friendly and taught a wine novice like me a thing or two! Visiting the Lafkas brewery was even better than the winery and it's so nice to see a genuine small, family-run business in action.

So if you're in any doubt, definitely go ahead and do the tour!

Thanks for your review. We do not cancel a tour if only one person is signed up, it seems quite unfair to solo travelers to do that, so we don't! And I'm so glad we didn't with you. It was great to spend the morning with you and chat about beer and wine. I hope you had an awesome time at Tool. Our Favorite Tour and Guide

We did the half day beer and wine tour. Anna Maria was our guide and we've decided she's our favorite guide out of all the many tours we've taken.
Because she is Greek / American we could ask her many questions about things that had built up from previous tours. She is well educated about wine making and especially tasting, and even though we have been to French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and US wine regions, we learned new things from Anna Maria's knowledge and teaching ability.
Highly recommended!

What a wonderful compliment from two people that travel so much. Wow. Thank you very very much. It was a pleasure getting to know you on our Grape and Grains tour. I hope our paths cross again....maybe in Costa Rica!

What an amazing host on a not-so-pleasant day!

Anna Maria was SUCH a great host and took us in-out of season; just so that we could have a great experience learning about Cretan wines and sipping from the best of them. She picked us up and dropped us off from downtown Chania and even paid for our parking. Anna is quite the lovely lady and made our experience amazing on an otherwise gloomy cold and rainy day. I HIGHLY recommend this tour to everyone!!! Thank you so much Anna Maria, we hope to be back!! :) (by the way, Anna is Ilia, my husband's daughters name ;)

Highlight of our trip

My husband and I did the Grapes and Grains tour as we are both wine and beer enthusiasts, and it couldn't have been a better day! Anna Maria picked us up in the morning with mimosas at the ready, as well as special snacks she had picked out for me due to a food allergy I'd mention when I booked.

Anna has a way of making you feel at ease - within minutes we were laughing hysterically and learning all kinds of interesting things about Crete. The whole day was a mix of learning about beer and wine production, tasting really great beer and wine, learning about the history and culture of Crete, eating amazing food, and more laughing. It ended with some great memories, a very full stomach, a fantastic list of restaurants that Anna recommended that we try during the remaining days of our trip.

We are so pleased that we chose Chania Wine Tours and highly recommend them to anyone visiting Crete!
