they said there was a boardwalk available it e as a mess and very dangerous. poor;y maintain, The guide was very young and knew nothing the driver have some knoeledge but only spoke spanish so you ask the tour guide a question she had to repeat it to the driver in spanish then she would translate to us the answer. It was a long up hill walk to see the first penguin and a longer walk to see more, the said they left for the beach. It was a long boring drive for the price just did not justfide the cost

Wir haben den englischsprachigen Ausflug direkt beim Veranstalter gebucht.
Uns war klar, dass die Fahrt zu Punta Tombo, ca 2/12 Stunden dauern würden.
Mangels Alternativen in Puerto Madryn haben wir uns bewusst dafür entschieden, da wir die Pinguine sehen wollten.
Am Pier wurden wir in Gruppen eingeteilt, unsere Gruppe bestand aus ca. 15 Personen. Wir wurden von einem nur Spanisch sprechenden Tourguide sowie einem Trainee begleitet , der erst vor kurzen English gelernt hatte.
Die Spanische Tourguide sprach sehr viel, allerdings konnte der Trainee das Gesagte kaum übersetzen, da er sehr schlechtes Englisch sprach. Darüber hinaus entschied er sich nach kurzer Zeit nicht mehr das Mikrofon zu benutzen, weshalb wir ihn gar nicht mehr verstehen konnten.
So hatten wir quasi nur einen 5 stündigen Transport zu Punta Tombo erhalten. Im Prinzip hätten wir dann auch ein Taxi nehmen können.
Positiv war, dass unser Fahrer Lukas sehr vorsichtig und besonnen gefahren ist.
Nach der langen Fahrt sind wir dann in Punta Tombo angekommen.
Wir nutzten die Zeit und sind den abgesperrten Weg durch die Pinguinkolonie gelaufen.
Es war wirklich toll, die Magellanpinguine so nah und in ihrem natürlichen Lebensraum zu sehen.
Da wir gegen 16:30 alle wieder an Bord des Schiffes sein mussten, wurde als Abfahrzeitpunkt 12:45 vereinbart.
Zur vereinbarten Zeit waren wir allerdings die einzigen beiden Gäste am Van. Der Tourguide ist mit den restlichen Gästen erst kurz nach 13:20 eingetroffen und bis wir dann losfuhren war es 13:30.
Wir haben darauf hingewiesen, dass wir um 16:30 auf dem Schiff sein müssen.
Aufgrund der langen Fahrzeit und des dichten Verkehrs am Hafen sind wir tatsächlich erst gegen 16:10 angekommen und mussten dann noch durch die Hafenkontrolle und 700 Meter zum Schiff laufen.
Dies späte Ankunft war völlig unnötig und hat Stress/Hektik verursacht.
Das war auch unserer einzige Tour bis dato, wo vom Veranstalter so wenig Rücksicht genommen wurde. Normalerweise wird darauf geachtet, dass man rechtzeitig zurück ist.
In Summe die schlechteste geführte Tour, die wir je gemacht haben.

Thank you Sentir. The tour to see the penguins at Punta Tombo was well organized, professional, and very interesting. Our guide, Diego, spoke excellent English and was friendly and very knowledgeable. The vehicle was comfortable and the driver was good too. Even the boxed lunch was full of tasty goodies. Highly recommended!

Our guide was Berto, driver Pedro. Looked for the blue balloon, and our small group of 8 was on our way. 2.5hrs there, long road, with 20km of dirt & gravel. The landscape is sparse (except for the giant Dinosaur in the middle of nowheresville and the wind turbines). The Rookery is hectares of safe areas for the Magellanic Penguins to have their chicks. It was beautiful. What we saw was fantastic. Possibly about 5,000 in total. So many cute babies. Follow the boardwalks and paths and the little ones will delight you with their antics, their nonchalance for tourists. Look for the one path where they have created a highway between the sea and home (the parents jog down to the water for food to bring back for their family). Head down to the water (via the boardwalks) to see more of these little characters. Boxed lunch on the way home. We were dropped off (by request) at the pier - little market stalls. Fantastic day! Thank you.

2,5 Stunden Anfahrt im Van, recht kurzweilig dank das ausgezeichneten Guides Martìn, der uns gerne an seinem grossen Wissen und der Freude an der Natur teilhaben lässt. Die grosse Pinguin Kolonie lässt sich über ein schön angelegtes Netz von Pfaden erkunden und man kommt den Pinguinen recht nahe, ohne sie zu stören. Das Verlassen der Wege ist strikte verboten, was sehr weise ist bei den Massen von Touristen, die jeden Tag hierher kommen! 😄😎

We highly recommend Sentir Patagonia and their excursion to Punta Tombo to see the Magellanic penguins--and it was far more reasonably priced than the ship tour! The blue balloons that they were holding made it easy to spot them as we disembarked. Even though they had to wait nearly an hour for everyone to arrive from the ship (totally a ship problem), they waited for everyone and assured us that we would not miss out on our day with the penguins. The small group was a real plus and the vans were comfortable and well-equipped. Lucas, our driver. was wonderful--he was even able to find a way to get around a few road problems that we encountered and get us to the rookery in record time. Our guide, Diego, was the best. He gave us wonderful history and background of Puerto Madryn and much information about the penguins and other animals we would be seeing--like the Guanacos. He was very professional and made sure that we had time to walk the entire boardwalk to see everything possible, and he still got us back to Puerto Madryn with time to explore the many vendors and the lovely beach adjoining the cruise dock. Thanks Sentir Patagonia, Lucas, and Diego, for an unforgettable experience!

Sentir Patagonia Travel is trustful. I ordered its shore excursion that should be operated on Jen. 1, 2020, but unfortunately Norwegian cancelled calling to the port with a reason nobody would believe. However Sentir Patagonia Travel keeps its promise and refunded my prepaid money immediately! Good company!

Vehicle was unsafe - seatbelts needed to be repaired before we left the port - this took about a half hour
When we got to the rookery, we were given 30 minutes to have a look see, although guide told us that was enough time, never got half way before having to drive back
Returned to the port half hour before requested time
rather than being able to enjoy this once in a lifetime excursion, this company wasted approximately 1 hour of our time that we could have been enjoying the penguins

Dear passenger, first I would like to apologize for any inconvenience we may caused.
the problem you mentioned with the seatbelt, was the belt was in between 2 seats, stoked, not broken, but doesn't make the vehicle unsafe, when the driver was aware of that problem, he found the way to solve the problem, and actually he did it, all our vehicles have every 6 months an full inspection, and that give us the permit to work.
I spoke with the tour guide this morning, and she told that everyone made the full path on that day.

This was a wonderful tour. The ride was long but our guide provided thorough information about his country and the animals we would be seeing. We did make a bathroom stop enroute and their were bathrooms at the beginning of the tour on the pier and at Punta Tombo. Our Tour Guide talked just enough which was great! Penguin colony was fabulous, numerous Guanacos and many different types of birds were there as well. Great tour!

Do you really travel 120 miles on a gravel road to get to this place? How long does that take? Then you have to travel 120 miles back on the same gravel road? Is this the only way to get to the Punta Tombo Penguin Rookery? Will the busses from the cruise ship have to take the same road?

From the Puerto Madryn Cruise port to Punta Tombo is about a 2 1/2 hour ride. Only 15km is on a gravel road. The rest is highway driving. The Tour Guide talks for about an hour. Bring a book or iPad, or take a quick nap en route!
