Guided Walking Tour of Taipei City

We did a 3-hour tour with Chia-chien Jessica and we are so glad that we did! She took us around to some city highlights that we never would have found on our own and she explained the history of Taiwan as well as some of the culture and traditions in a way that was super engaging and interesting. We also got to take public transit and ride bikes! She was fantastic! If you are spending a few days in Taipei, this would be a great way to learn more about how to easily get around the city.

Perfect Intro To Taipei

This was my first trip to Taipei and I didn't have a lot of background knowledge about the city or strong feelings about where to go. I just wanted to maximize the little time that I had to familiarize myself with what makes Taipei so unique. Daphne delivered! She was the perfect guide; well-informed, approachable and friendly. She showed me around several areas of the city where we experienced and discussed the highlights of the city's markets, culture, history and food scene. The tour was informative without being dull and structured enough to maximize the variety of experiences while still leaving plenty of flexibility to accommodate my interests on the fly. Highly recommend!

Great way to start a trip to Taipei

Daphne was wonderful and communicated and showed us so many interesting parts of the city. We loved getting to know the history. Daphne was wonderful about sneaking in a chance for tea tasting. And afterwards she sent some great suggestions for hikes and day trips.

Brilliant city tour

We had the most wonderful time with Daphne in Taipei. She went above and beyond to make sure we had an unforgettable adventure. Her knowledge and sense of humour gave us the best platform to thoroughly enjoy Taipei but Daphne far exceeded that by giving us recommendations for the rest of our trip as well. I could not recommend an excursion with Daphne more to make sure that you see all the sights across the city sprawl.

Agnes is simply Excellent - the best City walking tour I've ever done. A great mixture of Taipei history, Metro experience, Architecture & Conversational enjoyment. Learned a tremendous amount of history with the context of tradition, memorials, and she is a brilliant guide -- The Best!! It was a great investment, fantastic time and unforgettable experience.

A Wonderful Tour by a True Insider

Agnes was an incredible tour guide. So knowledgeable about everything about Taiwan. An "8th generation" Taiwanese, her knowledge was unmatched. She showed us amazing architecture and an awesome Daoist temple. Learned about the "2-28 incident," which we hadn't heard of before. And she took us to an amazing cafe for pineapple cake. She was a delight and we would definitely book her again.

Worthwhile experience

I booked a tour with Jessica for my Mom, my three aunts, and myself and we were beyond impressed! Jessica conducted the tour at a leisurely pace which is a very good thing since my Mom, although still very mobile at 78, doesn't enjoy doing things at a fast pace anymore. Jessica truly made the experience worthwhile and it was very interesting to know more about Taiwan through her eyes. My mom and aunties were still raving about how well Jessica made the experience memorable for us! Thank you, Jessica! Thank you, WithLocals!

Day One with Garen

Garen was our guide this morning and she was fabulous. She has a wealth of information regarding the history of Taiwan. It was exactly what we needed on our first day in Taipei.

For sure, Above & Beyond Service

Garen has high energy, very knowledgeable, quite caring (she made sure both of my knee wounds were treated at mrt station after a bad fall on our way to meet her), fun, very hospitable, great photographer, and became our go-to friend on all our Taiwan questions & needs. She accurately provided rich history, interesting culture, FOOD!!!, city gems, long list of recommended places our family were interested at - tea houses /shops, pottery, seafood, time-consuming & challenging transportation from Taipei to secluded Onsen Papawaqa, & the list goes on & on. We sure enjoyed her a lot!! We very much appreciate her service & guiding us all the way through, that she even went way beyond her time with us esp arranging our trip to Miaoli. We have nothing but gratitude & love for her. She played a huge part on this memorable Taiwan fam trip that will stay with us forever. Nobody could’ve done better than Garen. Thank you, thank you, thank you ♥️🫶🏽
