We had Garen on our 10 tastings food tour and she was amazing. We had to reschedule our tour to an earlier time to avoid rain and early food stalls closure due to typhoon Krathon. Garen kept us updated on the weather conditions throughout and we managed to do the tour complete with food and Taiwan’s history and cultural information. She is full of local knowledge and provided many tips for first time travellers to Taiwan. Highly recommended tour with a passionate local guide in Garen.

Our guide Nicolas was very nice. He let us prove some of the typical dishes and the food was very good, besides he explained some facts about Taiwan and his history. Definitely recommend this tour with Nicolas.

We had the most amazing tour of Dongmen market and Yongkang with Garen as our guide. From start to finish, communication was excellent. She asked us for our preferences prior to the tour, and organized a perfect tour showing us parts of Taiwanese food culture we had not seen yet! She sprinkled in important Taiwanese history and politics so we left with a warm belly and a mind enlightened. She has a wonderful relationship with many vendors, which meant we were treated like royalty and experienced things we never would have otherwise. We could not have asked for a more perfect experience! Thank you, Garen.

We were very impressed with June. She not only brought us through the market and made us try the various street food of the area but also weaved into the tour, the facinating recent history of Taiwan. She is an excellent ambassador for Taiwan. Thank you, June!

We had the 5pm foodtour with June and we enjoyed it so much. She talked to us about so many things from food to Taipei, to culture etc.
There was so much to try and taste and she showed us a lot of cute shops with local food in great settings, packaging etc
Taiwanese have so much eye for design and packaging, it is a joy to look round the shops
June brought us to small local places to taste traditional food with dumplings, rice with sauce made of pork topped of with pickle, soup with a local meatball, scallion pancakes with egg (yummy), tea tasting of Taiwanese grown tea, Taiwanese egg rolls filled with early grey (so nice we took some home)
The Taiwanese eat a lot of pork (not beef so beef noodle soup is not traditionally Taiwanese). The cows were used for farming so they were not eaten, the black haired pigs were. So if you are not into pork that much, ask for veggie option. I do not eat pork generally but what I tasted was really good. She also had us try taiwanese sausage and it was really good (I do not like the Chinese ones but I do like these)
We were completely full at the end, had a lovely walk and got some great insights into history and culture.
Would for sure recommend this tour!

We had an amazing time with June !
She was so kind and passionate. She showed us many things like local fruits and vegetables and explained us when and how to eat them.
We tasted many dishes also one that we wouldn’t have tasted otherwise but we trusted her and we met an amazing old lady that still cooks with her heart and passion. All the dishes were very good and we discovered new flavours
We visited a temple and got many explanations about the religion and faiths in Taiwan. We finished with a tea time including the traditional tea preparation in clay teapot
It was an amazing experience with rich interactions and tasty discoveries. Thank you so much June for the time we spent with you and your kindness !

We had a great time with Garen.
From the start, Garen was an excellent communicator who checked in with us via WhatsApp on several occasions to ensure that we made it to the meeting point (even confirming the flight had arrived!) .
We ate great food along the tour and Garen made sure that we were looked after all the while telling us about the food, city and culture. Who knew that soy milk is only drunk at breakfast!
During the tour we were able to stop into a couple of shops along the way so that we could pick up some cool souvenirs (I’m still enjoying the ginger oil).
You can tell she loves her city and is a true ambassador for her country.
I highly recommend Garen as a guide.

This tour was fantastic! Not only yummy and filled our senses, but Garen was so knowledgable about the food, the culture, the history! We asked her loads of questions and she was always able to wonderful explanations. We tasted just a variety of foods. We were a family of 4, and she connected well with us as well as our young adult daughters. She was loads of fun... and the food!! We would do this again in a heartbeat. Thank you, Garen!! We will always remember how the hot soy milk with fried bread made my husband cry- it brought back the childhood memories. That was precious.

I went on the private food tour today and my experience was phenomenal!!! I was lucky to have June as my tour guide and she truly exceeded my expectations. From the very beginning, she was engaging, personable, super kind, and extremely easy to talk to. June knows her Taiwanese history very well, and she was willing to answer all of my questions without judgment, no matter how silly or personal they were. I was also extremely impressed by how personalized the experience was. Prior to my tour, I informed June that I am a pescatarian, and she gladly and carefully customized the experience accordingly. And it did not disappoint!! If you are a foodie, like myself, and enjoy good company with someone who is extremely easy to talk to, then do not hesitate to give this tour a go. You will not regret it. Despite being 1:1 with her for 3 whole hours, the time flew by (and you know what they say about that!) and I wasn’t even ready for it to end. Thank you, June! You are one of a kind. :-)
