Fun Day Out in Fukuoka

Diandra is a fun host. We spent the day at sites like the Fukuoka Mirror Sail Tower, Dazaifu Shrine and the giant reclined Buddha in Sasaguri. I also enjoyed a delicious bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Sasaguri was nice and quiet, unlike Dazaifu which was very busy, being one of Kyushu's most famous shrines. That being said, if you like shrines and temples you should visit both!

Thanks for taking me around Fukuoka Diandra!

A disappointment
I have struggled about what to say about this experience. The guide worked with me beforehand to plan what to do, but I have mobility issues and cannot walk very far, and they didn't seem to understand that taxis were necessary. They said a couple of places I wanted to go were too far and would take 50 minutes to get there, but it turns out that was by public transportation, not by taxi.
We ended up going to a shopping mall for lunch, something I hadn't eaten before, so that was fine. Then we went to a folk museum which turned out to be very small, and the guide hadn't been there before and didn't seem to know anything about it. I found it interesting, the little there was of it, and the gift shop was good.
It was pouring rain all this time, and when they said we should walk aways to a shrine, I said no--too far for me, and everything was slippery. I suggested another museum, and they said I wouldn't like it as it was mostly Japanese pop culture.
At this point, two hours into the scheduled four hours, I couldn't think of anything else I wanted to do, so I had them get me a taxi back to the ship.
My mobility difficulties were part of the problem with the outcome, as was the pouring rain, but so was the lack of understanding about transportation and distance and the lack of experience with places to go.
I'm sorry it didn't work out better.

Jessica was amazing!!

Our tour guide was Jessica, and she was beyond spectacular! She was so kind and friendly and offered us great suggestions and gave us interesting facts that we would not have otherwise learnt. You could tell how much she loves Fukuoka.
Cannot recommend enough!!!!

Fun Fun Fun in Fukuoka

The tour by Hamed Arif was very good. It was well- paced and he showed us the highlights of Fukuoka, that fitted our time. We had a very interesting discussion of Fukuoka and its unique culture compared to the other cities of Japan. He spoke good English which made it a lot easier for us. We were lucky to capture some cherry blossoms.

Perfect for us!
Jessica has excellent knowledge of the area and tailored the tour to us perfectly! She showed us excellent sites in the Hakata area, two of which are listed as national treasures.

Good fun with great company

The canal ferry ride was fantastic! It was a recommendation from the guide, very good scenery. The guide knew a lot about the area, and we had a good time even while walking around!

Charming tour.

Our guide was well informed, interesting and lively. She has lived in Fukuoka for 17 years and really knows the ins and outs of the city. She was able to tailor the tour to our very specific needs (we have a toddler) very easily. Charming tour. A+!

Was a really fun day - we traipsed all around the area and managed to see the places I was most interested in. Sandy was very open and flexible and was happy to go with the flow which was very helpful in this kind of setting ...

Great time in Fukuoka

We have been visiting Fukuoka for 3 days. It is a beautiful town with several outstanding attractions as Fukuoka tower, Fukuoka castle and parks. Our tour guide Sunire was easy going, professional, patient and friendly. She was very attentive to our needs and gave us thoughtful advices. She was so nice and kind. I felt like she is member of our family!
