It's not only about food
2020年1月
Don't worry about the time, waking up early couldn't be more worth than for this amazing tour to the heart of Tokyo's famous Tsukiji market.

Naomi gave an awesome tour of Tokyo's charming sides. You get to know that this city isn't just builed with steel and concrete, but filled full with life, wonderful people and their storys.

You will get plenty of interesting and tasty insights of Tsukiji. Although for me it was not only about tasty food, I loved how Naomi managed to make the whole tour in her unique style, connecting sightseeing, culture and a good sense of humor.

But Naomi also has exceptional deep knowledge of the city and Japanese history from ancient to modern days. Her friendly, open minded and warmhearted personality is what makes you really enjoying all the hidden gems of Tokyo.

In the end I was really happy to be there. Not only that Naomi led an amazing tour and I had a wonderful day, I also met a precious friend

Very personal & Great introduction to Tokyo!
2019年8月
I joined Naomi's Tour with my friend who is a food lover, and who visited Tokyo for her first time from Los Angels. Naomi is really nice lady, a lot of smile and fun with very good knowledge about fish market. Even though I'm living in Tokyo, it was a lot more than what I expected. We wanted to sample every food we came across and Naomi helped explain what they were and helped us navigate the market. I was amazed her great relationship with the vendors! I saw they really loved Naomi and thanks to her, we were treated like a reguler customers! We will be highly recommending this tour to our family and friends heading to Tokyo!

Lots to learn for even seasoned visitors
2019年6月
Despite living in Tokyo for 12 years, there was soooo much I didn't know and appreciate about the Tsukiji market, and I am very appreciative that Narumi could open my eyes about it. Narumi moved around the stalls fluidly, giving great suggestions and recommendations. She was so familiar with the vendors that we were treated as special guests- and handed lots of samples! Going through the area alone could be overwhelming, but with an experienced guide with local knowledge, my friends and I could chat and laugh and not worry about being lost or missing a key spot. Narumi was patient, friendly and showed us an awesome morning. I will definitely attend another of her tours and have already recommended her to family and friends.

Family Friendly Tsukiji Market Tour
2019年5月 • 好友
I experienced a fantastic, easy & relaxed tour by Narumi at the Tsukiji Market. She started the tour with a brief background on the market and its stalls. Being able to make a pit stop at a stall, buy a delicacy and eat on it was a nice treat. Narumi takes her time and you don't feel rushed at all, she also lets you buy goods that she recommends. She is familiar with store owners so you really get a sense of that local feel as well.

These are my tips so please take it with a grain of salt but I suggest:

1) wearing your comfiest pair of shoes/sandals,
2) if tour is on summer bring a hat & bug spray,
3) a big tote bag to carry your souvenir purchases &
4) have enough cash on had to purchase goods, often these stalls do not have credit card available.

Narumi's tour is kid friendly as kids under 12 are free as long as they're with their parent/guardian.

I personally think you will appreciate Narumi's tour around Tsukiji. Who knows you might just have a nice cold beer after to cap off your time together along with your tour mates, like we did. Happy Travels!

Experienced family friendly guide who feels like a local friend
2019年6月 • 好友
Naomi was one of the best tour guides I had, it felt like my friend was giving me a tour but with knowledge of the market and its history. She even went to sushi school so she knew which stalls had good food and which ones were the best deal for your money. But I don't even like sushi and I ate a ton of other street food, snacks and sweets.

Usually when I go on a tour it's very rushed and we only have a limited time to stop at each place because of the time limit but with Naomi we didn't feel rushed and she even gave us some time to shop. Normally we would have to backtrack and try to find the shops again.

She wore a bright fluorescent pink hat so we could see her easily in the crowd. You'll want to go to Tsukiji early when things are open, as many shops close in the early afternoon. Even though the fish market moved, there's so many shops still in Tsukiji and seafood vendors around. I haven't been to Toyosu yet but I heard Tsukiji is better for tourists still.

Naomi took us to all kinds of stalls that sold traditional Japanese snacks which were great souvenirs/gifts to bring home, seafood and bento shops, tea, cooking ware shops, pottery, sweets, coffee shops and even a shrine at the end. Since she gave so many tours in Tsukiji she was familiar with the vendors and they all greeted her with affection, so I felt like a friend rather than just another tourist. Tip - Make sure you bring cash, I'm not sure a lot of the mom and pop shops accept credit cards.

Also, the tour would be fine for kids and she said that children under 12 are free with accompanying adults but it can get very crowded on weekends so it might be tough pushing a stroller through such dense crowds.
