Outstanding, we were a group of 13. The experience was wonderful. The covered wagon ride was so cool. The food was amazing. The staff was very personal and friendly. Great experience. Definitely recommend

The covered wagon part was fine. The guides were funny, friendly and very informative. The ride was peaceful with great views of the area. We arrived at the dinner area and were given a warm chocolate chip cookie, which is an odd treat before dinner. Dinner was family style and various potato and pasta salad was placed on the table. Drinks were ordered and brought out hap-hazardly. The various guides were servicing the tables. Each course came on it's own. We waited a while for the Vegie chili, chicken, and ribs. The chili was liquid and placed on a plate, which made it hard to eat, and not very good. The chicken and ribs were just ok. A small piece of salmon finally came to the table. it was cold and not very tasty. Dessert was a cobbler which was rushed out before we were asked to move back outside for anyone interested in taking photos with the horses. The ride part is nice, but the dinner, although plenty was offered, was not worth the price. Make is a ride and cookie and cut the price.

Just went on this tour and while the area is pretty, horses are beautiful and staff friendly if you are hoping for a hearty meal don’t book this tour. When we arrived they gave us a warm cookie- which was really good. Once we arrived to have dinner the table was family style with pasta salad, potato salad, slaw and corn muffins. Then, vegetarian chili-awful!! Next, corn on the cob. After 20-25 minutes they brought out chicken (it was a small drumette off of a chicken wing and a very small spare rib the size of my index finger. We were told one piece per person. After that, they brought out a small bite of salmon, again one person. Not worth the money. On a trail ride you think of cowboy hearty food. Nope just a bunch of cheap carbs. Thankfully I was with my sister and not my husband who is diabetic and would have starved bc that would have caused very high blood sugar.

This was a delightful adventure. The scenery was gorgeous, our guide, Max, was the BEST (you could really tell he loved his job). Lexy, our driver, was so sweet and really made us feel comfortable. Also, Lucy and Larry, who picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, were nice and friendly (and good drivers).

What a better way to get an introduction with a taste of what the Denali area has to offer than Black Diamond Resort's horse drawn covered wagon tour.
It was all about the animals from the time my ride to dinner led by Clydesdale Cake and Belgian American Rustin led by O'Dell arrived to take us to the pavilion for our family style dinner with our wagon mates. Along the way, our guide Alison was so knowledgeable that you would never have guessed she was a newcomer to the job.
When we arrived to the pavilion for dinner, imagine big bowls of potato salad, cole slaw, pasta salad and corn bread to start. Follow that up with vegetarian chili and grilled corn on the cob. Finally bbq ribs, baked chicken, and grilled Alaskan salmon before fresh berry dessert. Definitely come hungry which we were after the long drive from Anchorage.
After an opportunity for pics with our 4-legged friends, I got my first sighting of a mama moose and her baby on our way back that just made my day. Upon returning, got to spend time with their resident new kids on the block.

If you're in a full wagon - their website says up to 16 people per wagon - how much do you actually get to see if you're not right at the front or back?
