This is a must do when driving through Cades Cove especially if you have teens that enjoy learning about the history of the area! BEST $15 I've spent so far in this trip!

We discussed taking a guided tour, but decided to rent a Jeep and drive through Cades Cove on our own, and this was the perfect compliment to the trip. Even our girls (ages 6 and 8) really enjoyed listening to the tour as we drove through the park. Everything worked really smoothly, with each step along the way starting automatically as we passed it on the map. The content was really informational and interesting, and helped guide us to different stops along the loop. But it was the right balance and didn't overdo it - was nice to have some silence along the way as well.
NOTE: make sure to follow the directions that were VERY clear and download the program before you get to the national park.

Excellent place to see Bears, go early late afternoon, twice in a day to have the best chance to see them, traffic at times especially on weekends can be slow & long lines around the Cove area, restrooms are not until the halfway point, brings drinks, snacks, cameras, sunglasses, binoculars & go slow not matter what anyone behind you thinks, it's a slow viewing spot, stop at the restrooms for a break, stop at the old cabins for a break, we stopped at 1 cabin & 3 bears came out in it's back yard.

It worked well and added much needed context to our tour. The kids liked loved the addition as well. For me it was the most enjoyable part of the trip so far and the least expensive 🙂

The longest hour of my life! When I read the reviews and it says it would take up to four hours. I would never do this with a family or an impatient driver again. We saw nothing! There are signs saying stay 50 yards back. 😂 from what the grass. Horses where the only animal we saw except for the two in the backseat. Not worth it!

This tour is very well done! It is very accurate automatically matching the sites with the explanations, and is also full of knowledge. The voice and the words of the guide are very clear so even people that don’t have English as their first language would easily understand. This tour was amazing as we could visit all the attractions at our own pace and could also have maps and perfect road guidance when no phone signal was available. We actually felt safer during our visit because of this. All this is also true for the Full Tour of the Smoky Mountains they also have. We bought that as well. Thank you for making our experience an unforgettable one!

If all of you fit in one car, just buy one tour! Download it onto one phone and plug that phone into the car’s speaker system. That way, everyone in the car can listen together.
You should only buy extra tours if you guys will be taking extra cars.
