A little bit of everything delicious

So many different tastes! Janelle was a great guide, and gave us the history and context of food culture in Barbados. Fruit, cooked dishes, juice, and desserts – this tour covers it all in many stops through a market area in Bridgetown. Highly recommended!

Life and food through Bajan eyes

Paulette was the perfect guide, she knew her Barbadian history impeccably, was funny and brought the food trip to life, inviting us in to sample authentic bajan dishes all over Bridgetown, and best of all explained what Barbadians enjoy to eat and why.
We would totally recommend this trip with Paulette, she is the best, thank you

Arrive hungry and leave filled with knowledge and food!
We had a great day on the Bajan food walking tour with our guide Paulette. It was so good to visit restaurants, street vendors, markets and shops to experience the local flavours.

Paulette knows the places to go but she also tells a fascinating history of how the different settlers shaped the Bajan food we know today. I was a bit disappointed there was no Pudding and Souce on the menu as it did sound similar to Scottish haggis or black pudding 😋. But that was trivial as the food you do experience is very tasty and there's plenty of it!

It was a roasting hot day so make sure you have water with you as there's quite a chat at the start and you'll want to keep hydrated. Once the walking and eating gets underway you'll be fine. I'd suggest being hungry when you arrive as you'll get plenty food during the tour.

Paulette is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and explains things really well. A true asset to Lickrish and to Bajan food.

Amazing experience, exceeding our expectations

Janelle was fantastic. Extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic, warm and welcoming to the tour. It exceeded our expectations and was a great way to end our trip to Barbados. We tried way more food than we thought we would and learned about the history/origins of the food we tried. Would highly recommend.

The US$80 price tag seems steep for ~US$15 worth of street food, but you can rationalize the expense if you think of it as a US$60 tour plus a 30% tip. When the tour finally started it lasted just over 2 hours, but it was informative and slow paced. We did discover the best fish cakes we’d ever tasted and hibiscus juice with a mulled wine feel. I’m glad we did it, but I wouldn’t do it again

Lickrisk foodie tour

Enjoyed one of the best foodie experiences today! Learnt a lot about Bridgetown as well as the food and the culture of beautiful Barbados from our guide Paulette.

What would have been even better would have been a wonder through the market too whilst sipping the Sorrel drink.

Lovely 3.30 hours, and finished off with an amazing ice cream. Perfect!

History, culture, food!!

This food tour is a great way to sample and learn about the Bajan food history and culture. Our guide, Paulette, was a wealth of knowledge and eager to share all of it with our group. The tour is well worth the time and offers all types of local food…you definitely have to pace yourself. Save room for the ice cream at the end of the tour!

Great history and local food

Janelle was a fabulous tour guide. She explained the history of the area and the origins of local favorite foods. We visited local food vendors and enjoyed the variety.

Great history lesson with good food
