We did the Sunset Cruise on Calabaza with friends from the UK and as always the cruise was magical. The service from Chad, Damian and Shane was top notch; always there with a drink or a story to tell. We had taken this cruise a few times and truth be told the food was a bit on the lacking side. This year however there was an abundance of great food from a cheese tray, fish cakes, chicken fingers, Rum, cakes et al. Its nice to see that Gina has stepped up with the food. Calabaza is one of the best catamaran cruises on the island. All the cruises offer fun and we have done the other party boats but its so nice to feel like the boat is your own for a few hours. We stopped a few times for the snorkeling guests and again the crew made sure that everyone on board was looked after. See you again in 2024 (hopefully).

Amazing sail yesterday with the best Crew. Thank you Captain Ben, Mikey, and Lee!! The smaller number of guests(12) made it most comfortable. We saw a huge ray and some smaller rays, a couple of turtles and a sea horse, then off to the wrecks which were teeming with many different fish. The sail up the west coast was relaxing with a different view from the sea.
The finger foods were plentiful and delicious and the service was 5star! Topped off by a spectacular sunset made the day priceless.
Don't miss this opportunity.

We have a wonderful sunset cruise on board Calabazza.....a fantastic crew and captain......highly recommended for a nice peaceful smaller group get together.

The whole experience was excellent. We were in a group of 12 guests which meant the boat was not crowded. There was a seat in the shade for everyone and plenty of space on the sun deck to enjoy the sun and views of the Barbados coast.
The crew of three were really nice people who offered a running supply of food and drinks.
When we went snorkling, we saw turtles, fish and some WW2 wrecks. Our snorkel buddy Sean was informative and kept us all together.
Back on board, to more food and drinks. The food was hot and tasty, the rum punch served cold and spicy and mixed with safety in mind so nobody had too much rum.
A memorable experience and thoroughly recommended.
My wife who likes to snorkel remained on the boat and she had a great time watching the turtles from the deck.

We had a wonderful afternoon with the Calabaza crew. They were super friendly, funny, made us feel very safe with all activities and just got a great vibe on the boat going. The food and drinks they serve are absolutely top-notch, I'd return just for that! Thank you so much guys, keep up the good work.

Wonderful afternoon snorkel & sunset cruise. The staff were excellent, food and drink were plentiful. Not a crowded tour-lots of seating and space around the catamaran. Snorkeled with the turtles and at the shipwrecks with staff member to help guide, then a hour under sail to enjoy the views. Highly recommend!

We reserve this sunset cruise every year for our family and local friends because of the service, the ambiance and the ultimate experience. Everything runs perfectly, the crew is top notch and the food and beverages never stop ! Calabaza is a beautiful vessel that takes you magically out to sea for a few hours to enjoy nature, the sea and you tack home to a Barbados sunset with a rum punch in hand and listening to the best music on the island ! Thank you to Gina and her team !

The 5 stars are well deserved for this cat tour. After spending yesterday afternoon on it I understand why.
Everything was perfect. At a slightly more premium price, there was a limit of 12 people on our cruise. This made the whole experience really personable and private.
The food, a selection of canopies and picky bits, was really nice ! Shredded chicken crackers and fishcakes were personal favourites.
The bar had a white ranging selection, although we stuck to rum punch as it was superb. One of the other girls had prosecco, she claimed it was very nice.
The turtles were amazing. You quite litterally swim with them. Our water guide was a bit of a legend on the sly. He stroked a stingray, and even brough a turtle right close to the boat so the not so confident swimmers could see and share in the experience!
I wish I could remember their names, but alas, I have awoke with a crippling hangover.

We had a wonderful time on the sunset snorkeling cruise. Chad, Shane and Peter took great care of us on the boat. Chad was hilarious, cracking jokes and sharing his many incredible go pro pictures of turtles and other sea creatures. Shane was a great snorkeling guide, he helped us get close to multiple sea turtles and a majestic eagle ray. They kept us well fed, there’s a full kitchen on board and they had at least 10 courses of snacks. Then we watched the most beautiful sunset. 10/10 would definitely sail with them again next time we visit Barbados

We booked the sunset cruise last minute after we had originally booked a day tour with another company but had learned they were a ‘party boat’ type with large numbers on board. We were on our honeymoon and this was not what we were after so booked the sunset cruise with calabaza after being recommended by another couple at our hotel. Booking was seamless, i had to call a number to book as it was unable to do so online (I am not sure why) so I called and reserved our space. 2 minutes later I had a confirmation email.
One thing to be aware of is that the price is in US DOLLARS not BBD. I fell foul of this and it ended up costing me double what I thought it was but this was totally my fault as I hadn’t expected it to be priced in USD.
Anyway we were collected from our hotel by the driver and driven up to Bridgetown port, collecting a few people on the way.
Welcomed on board the catamaran and instructed to take shoes off before climbing on. So take cheap shoes as these get left at the port in a bucket. I can’t imagine anyone would want to steal your shoes but you never know!
Given a quick intro chat by the captain at the same time as being handed drinks.
So for this cruise it is open bar and what is described as
‘Finger food’. This description for me would be little sandwiches, maybe some crisps/nuts or something - let me tell you the food was AMAZING. It kept coming out and offered around. We had crackers with cheese and ham, devilled eggs, veggie sticks with dip, samosas, fish cakes, chicken, wraps and I mean the food kept coming. It was so much and all fresh and hot. The staff on board really looked after you and made sure you were kept fed and watered. The food was given out throughout the whole trip at intervals, not all at once.
There was music playing throughout from speakers, not too loud and not in your face music either. A bit of everything really but all appropriate for the situation.
You are also free to walk around the boat and change position as you like.
We stopped for our first snorkel stop pretty soon after setting off. There were flotation devices available for those not confident in the water. I’m not a big water person at all and I did this trip for my wife who wanted to do it but I got in and had a little snorkel. It’s great if you like that kind of thing but it’s not for me! You can see loads of fish, turtles, rays and a ship wreck they take you to also.
One thing I wasn’t told about before getting in the water was sea lice. The larvae of jelly fish, these guys sting. I didn’t know what was stinging me at first and I was a bit panicked so would have been nice to have a heads up but once it was explained to me it was just one of those things you can’t avoid. They are harmless and the sting doesn’t last long. They have vinegar on board to spray you with which helps.
So if you like water and snorkelling then the two snorkel stops are great. You have around 20/30 minutes at each of the stops.
Back on board the boat, dry off a bit and then it’s time to chill.
More food, more drink and if you are that way inclined you can mingle with the other folk on the boat. Pick your spot and just relax. We had our legs dangled over the side of the boat as the captain took us around as the sun began to set. Really lovely, relaxed and amazing setting.
Got back to the port at 18:15 on the dot and when we embarked our driver was waiting for us to take us back to the hotel.
If you like small groups, good food / drink and snorkelling (although you are not forced to snorkel!) then this is for you. It is not a party boat. It was exactly what we were after and the service received was tremendous from start to finish. The guys on the boat were so great and friendly and made us so welcome and were happy to take and pose for selfies and always made sure we had a drink in our hand.
I would 100% recommend using this company for your cruise around Barbados. .
