Fantastic day. Fernando and the rest of the crew were excellent. Good snorkeling. Enjoyed our time at Catalina Island. We spent a few extra dollars for VIP package and recommend it. Daniel was our guy at Catalina and he did an incredible job taking care of us. I.e. brought our food, drinks and the food was an upgrade over the norm,. I.e shrimp and calimari. Also end of the trip is great when they take you downthe river to the Campo.area where there are many expensive Jones, golf courses ect to view.

Beautiful island. Snorkeling was ok, but short. Bring Lots of sunblock, not a lot of shade. I would recommend this tour if your staying near La Ramana. Water was clear and amazing. Fun crew. Not great for young kids. You have to jump off a Catamaran onto a motorboat a couple times.

The cruise out to the island, the snorkeling and buffet on the beach were great. The crew could not have been more helpful, unfortunately we booked a day when a group of young locals where celebrating so music was very loud but they were a lovely group.
The issue was for people who have reduced mobility, we have done trios like this before with no issue. Arrival via taxi was to the top of 50 very steep steps and there was a metre gap between boat and quay which were expected to jump, the boat was pulled in when boarding but only the help of crew and a nice policeman enabled us to get off. Why no plank to walk over?? Also thanks go to a nice taxi driver who chased up our taxi which had not arrived on time for our pick up

The boat trip is always fun, regardless dirty water tanks etc. too many people on board . Safety is not an existing topic. You should be a good swimmer just in case. Not enough safety equipment to all. I did not eat lunch , however it looked very simple with some potatoes, bread, beans and fruits. You could bye a little lobster for 35 us $ . The island is absolutely beautiful, the water is very clear, but the sea shore is covered with plastic and other trash. Furthermore the old sun beds fulfil the poor view of Catalina island. The team members are more occupied by taking and selling digital pictures to the tourists, rather than picking up the plastic and cleaning the beach after their guests . So sad.

Transport to and from the hotel was good as we were staying in la romana. When we arrived at the marina there was no greeting from the staff just "get on the boat". Most of the other people on this tour were Spanish speakers which was fine but the few of us that spoke English did not receive the same level of attention/ instruction.
The boat ride was nice and it took around 30 mins to get to the snorkeling spot.
The snorkeling was good, the water was crystal clear and there were a few species of fish.
Once you arrive at the beach there was a bit of free time before lunch. We chose to do some swimming and sunbathing. While sunbathing we were asked constantly if we want a pina colada which you pay extra for of course.
The "bbq" lunch was chicken and "chorizo" the chicken was a single drumstick and the "chorizo" was a slice of a hotdog.
The bar was okay but we expected more variety.
After lunch we did some more swimming and went for a walk away from the main beach area to get some space for ourselves as the beach was packed.
We left at 3 which only gave us a few hours on the island, more time would have been nice.
On the boat back to the marina we were served sprite and beer in tiny plastic cups.
When we were almost at the marina they start asking for tips. I saw the captain put a note into the tip cup before it went around.
Overall, it's a beautiful island and the waters are very nice,but for the price we paid we expected better service from the staff and better food.

For those of you browsing tours let me get to the finish Do Not Book This Tour. We were picked up at 730 am. We drove around picking others uo from hotels. Fine. Then we drove to a KFC and sat in the van. People were taken off the van and put on others. We just sat for over 40 min. Then we were put on another. Then more driving of over 45 min. We get to the destination 2 hours later. We need to use the restroom. No paper no toilet seat. We get on the crowded boat and off we go. We get to the snorkeling spot and we were told to stay near the boat and we would be there an hour. That's it. No instruction or assist with masks for those who never have done this. One hour later we get back on the boat and off we go to a crowded little island. You have to get on a smaller boat to get to the island. It is now almost 1. Lunch was served. Fyi no alcohol just water and pineapple juice and coke. Then swimming until 230 where they started rounding people up to leave at 3. Back to the big boat and it took 1.5 hours to get back. At that point they served sone rum and coke. We stopped right before the dock and finally they speak again to tell us about needing a tip. Like we were held hostage until they got their tip. Finally back on shore to do the van thing again. We were the last dropped off. Back at the hotel at 645. Basically almost 12 hours of waiting and traveling for 1 hour of snorkeling. We did something like this in Mexico and it was amazing. Others did same in Aruba and same. This wasn't worth it. Thank goodness our kids are older or it would have been a nightmare. Save your money and vacation day and do something else.

Everything was great! The boat was lively. The snorkeling spot was nice. Beach was very nice. I would liked more time on the beach because we got there about 12:30 and left about 2:30. Overall though the crew and experience was good.

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY if you have children, elderly people.
This excursion is more of an obstacle course than it is fun in the sun.
DO NOT SAY I DID NOT WARN YOU!!!!!
Do not let images from the site fool you, there is jo catamaran there is no BBQ style food, you will NOT FEEL SAFE, please run away from this excursion!
communication, accommodation, and food from the start to end is horrible.
Booked this excursion based on reviews and I have to say my fellow reviewers for the 1st time let me down!
We booked a 9:15 am all day excursion leaving from Punta Cana at Bahia mar Ambar
We were told to be in the front gate at 7:15 am ( we were there at 7 sharp)
at 7:20 I began calling and after numerous attempts lady finally answers and said that they were already there and we were not and to not worry because they will return in 5 minutes to pick us up in a double deck red bus, fast forward to 8:15 and finally was picked up in a small 8 people caravan ( we were 11) after a few miles at a gas station we were transferred to a slightly bigger bus still crammed,
we were then taken to an isolated dirty area where there was a small shop for souvenirs ( not worth the 30 minutes there)
after a 45 minute drive we finally reached La Romana for those of you that dont know La Romana it is one of the poorest places in Dominican Republic somewhat slummish
The driver did not know where to drop us off and by luck bumped into another bus going the same way, finally we were dropped of in a neighborhood the middle of a filthy street. We proceeded to enter someone's back yard where we were given wrist bands and told to go down 6 stories of extremely slippery, dirty very steep stairs into the marina where we were greeted by more filth ( the boats are located in a extremely dirty waterway in front of very poor peoples habitats) I am shocked no one has come in here and claim sickness.
Once on in a dirty boat ( not a catamaran like the site states) we were on our way on extremely choppy waters some will definitely get sea sick, they served a once time 6oz room temp soft drink, there is no where to walk, dance, comingle the restroom I wont even talk about DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you will then be transferred onto a tender 8 people at most but they cram up to 15 we were 166 so it took 40 minutes to finally be on land!!
there are plenty of chairs so you will get one.
finally at around 1pm lunch was served once again to quote the site
(BBQ style lunch) what a joke - all workers handling food with filthy hands, 30 day old bread, uncooked meats littered with marble size flies and soft drinks at room temp that is your meal!!!!!!!
The waters are not worth it, after 3 30ish we headed back and repeated the same
To summit it up this is waste of money, there is a great chance to get salmonella, it is time consuming you will spend 75% of your time on a van to a bus to an old filthy boat to a canoe back to the canoe, boat, van and van
My group ages varied from 19 to 50 and if given this excursion at no charge and a free 7 day stay at a hotel and spa we would not do it again
DO NOT BOOK THIS IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, ELDERLY PEOPLE, OR GET SEA SICK.

Todo estuvo muy bonito y más por el precio. Son muy puntuales, buena gente. Lo único que no me gustó es que la mayoría de los hombres son muy intensos y les dicen cosas a uno(las mujeres) no apropiadas. Deben de arreglar eso y todo será perfecto. Gracias.

Dreams Dominicus La Romana is an excellent choice of a Hotel to stay at, beautiful safe beaches and grounds. Excellent Staff. Very good Food and a nice variety.
