This was a nice tour to get out of the resort and see more of the country side. We went about ten miles, but tried to keep the e-bike assist as low as possible to still get some exercise. The guide was nice and knowledgeable about the area. The bikes could use a bit of maintenance.

First the negatives...
1. Poor quality bikes. Buckled/loose wheels, poor brakes and slipping gears. They all need to be replaced and soon as some are just dangerous.
2. The route. Mostly tarmac roads some of which are busy with coaches and lorries passing close to you. There was a nice section of dirt track but that didn't last long unfortunately.
For some reason I thought we would be riding mostly off road which was disappointing.
3. The total trip distance was about 9 miles there and back. Lots of stops due to faulty bikes.
And now the positives...1.Great company from the guides. 2. Nice stop at the plantation and house. 3. Nice to see some real DR.

Pickup from hotel was just on time, nice team, we had a lot of fun. Went to a garden and learned all about Dominican agriculture. So much better than sitting all day in a bus. And after the tour we got great photos.

Our guides were great Wilton was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice being able to ride through the countryside and see a different way of life outside the tourist areas. While dealing with the humidity wasn’t the easiest, our guides had plenty of water for us when needed, and the e-bikes take the effort out of riding hills and other terrain.

After a week “on complex” this was a great chance to see some of the real DR and get some light exercise. We stopped half way at a plantation growing coffee, cacao, plantain, vanilla, avocado, papaya, etc and were able to taste some samples and look around the owner’s home. It was really low key and whilst there were some items available to buy, they seemed reasonably priced and there was absolutely no pressure. On the way back we stopped at the side of the road for some delicious and cheap empanadas. Total distance was about 16 km with a mixture of road & track, a stream and a few puddles, etc. Some of the bikes were starting to show their age which is why I rated 4 instead of 5. I would definitely recommend this trip 😁

The perfect activity for an active family! E-biking through Macau allowed our family (3 adults and 1 teen) to see life in the DR off the resort. We loved the tour of a DR home to learn about cocoa, coffee, and harvesting papaya, avocados, guava, etc.
The biking took us through minimally rocky terrain, and some main streets but the guides ensured we were completely safe.
In fact, the guides contacted us the day before the tour to tell us when they would pick us up and what to expect on the ride. While other tours have been crowded or really pushed purchasing souvenir, this one did not do a hard sell, and there were two guides for 6 bikes.
They provided water, snacks, and we biked at a pace comfortable for all participants.
It was one of the highlights of our trip!!

Very friendly guide and driver. Great experience overall, would definitely recommend. My only suggestion would be for the guide or driver to contact the tourists the morning of whatever day the activity is scheduled instead of 30 min. to an hour before.

Pros—
Great way to see local towns safely.
Back up car always with us with water , to take photos (free) and to watch bikes when we went on brief tours of coffee & chocolate farms. Some expectation to purchase but not a big deal.
1/2 on road, 1/2 off.
Don’t have to be a biker but be prepared for bumpy, pot holey back roads. You get dirty.
Driver and tour guides were informative and nice.
Would definitely recommend and we would do it again!
Cons—
Bikes were ok but no suspension and battery assist. Don’t go for an awesome, educational biking experience; go to see how people live in the area.
A really nice 3 hour excursion that we would do again!
FYI—because we booked excursion ourselves, pick up van was not allowed out grounds of our resort (Royalton Punta Cana) so we had 10 minute walk to entrance for pick up. No big deal, but good to know.

I took this tour with my husband and teenage son. We are all avid bikers, but had never tried an E-bike. We enjoyed it and found it easy to navigate.
The length of the tour was perfect (2 hours). We biked off road for the first part, which could be challenging for some who are nervous about bumpy dirt roads. It had rained the night before so there were a lot of puddles on the dirt road - make sure you wear shoes that can get dirty. The coffee/cocoa plantation was nice, as was meeting the friendly family that lives/works there. It was nice to bike through different local towns, as well. Guides were friendly - could have been more talkative, yet not sure what else he could have said about our surroundings. They were just more quiet than I am used to for a guide.
I would recommend this tour. The E-bikes made it so easy to bike, especially up hill!
