Such a fun day! Beautiful scenery. Delightful guides took great care of us and captured everything for us on our phones. Our driver Dwayne was great. He made the long ride to the sites full of great conversations and lots of laughs. Lunch at Scotchies was delicious!

We truly had an excellent time on this excursion - it was the highlight of our vacation! We booked this excursion less than 24 hours before our chosen excursion timeslot; normally this can be very stressful but Wains Adventures and our driver Shane made sure we had no issues. As soon as we booked, I messaged the operator and asked if we could be picked up outside our villa (which was right down the street from one of the hotels on the list) and Wainwright replied immediately and let us know that it wouldn't be a problem. The communication and entire process was superb!
Shane made this one of the best tours we've ever done in the Caribbean. He gave us a lovely tour on the way to the Blue Hole & Dunn's River Falls. He was on time, the ride was clean and full of great conversation. Shane made sure we had everything we needed (water shoes, swimsuits and snacks) before we left. He was super flexible, which we really appreciated. We had to be back to our villa at a certain time because we had dinner reservations with a group. Shane adjusted our schedule and tour with no problem and was very kind about it.
At the Blue Hole, Shane paired us with an awesome tour guide - I believe his name was Jemmel. He was very kind and knowledgeable, and made sure we had a great visit. Jemmel held our phones (with waterproof cases on them) and took beautiful photos and videos of us while we hiked, swam and jumped. He recommended photo spots as well and we are so happy with the pictures. We jumped off the cliffs at two different points and went on the rope swing, which was very fun. The Blue Hole excursion is perfect for all types of people, whether you're someone who wants to climb to the top and explore (like us) or just hang out in the beautiful waters at the bottom.
At Dunn's River, we chose to explore on our own. The water and falls were so refreshing. It was very busy at Dunn's River but we chose to go on a Saturday so that was expected. If you want to avoid crowds, I recommend going on an off-day and earlier in the day (we were there in the late afternoon). Dunn's River had a nice mix of locals and tourists - we were able to pay the $25/pp entrance fee with a debit card, which was a huge advantage because we were running low on cash.
I suggest bringing durable water shoes (you will need them) and keeping your jewelry such as rings and earrings at home so they don't fall off in the water if you plan on swimming and jumping. I also suggest bringing snacks, bottles of water and cash for tips and shopping. There are several shops at the Blue Hole and Dunns River so bring cash to support the local businesses. You don't need to worry about keeping your cash on you while you swim at Blue Hole - you can leave your belongings with Shane and pay for whatever you purchase at the end of the tour.
Overall, we highly recommend this excursion and service. The entire process was seamless and full of laughs, adrenaline-rushes and fun! Thank you so much Shane and Wains Adventure Tours for giving us an experience we will never forget!!

This excursion was such a good experience. We had our tour guide Shane who was amazing. He was so friendly and a good driver. He took us to the blue hole and set us up with a great tour guide. Then he took us to dunn’s river which was a blast to clime the water fall. Shane made this experience a 10/10 for us!!!

Wonderful experience all around. Starting with a fantastic tour guide Shane who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Both attractions were great, but the Dunn’s Falls, in particular, was spectacular. Visiting Jamaica for a wedding and very fortunate to have left the resort for a few hours to see the actual country.

We booked Blue Hole and Dunns River Falls together as they are not too far from each other, but Ocho Rios was pretty far from where we were staying at Sandals Royal Caribbean. On the morning of the trip, I got an email changing the pickup time from 9.30 to 10 am. Considering I made the reservation on Feb 6 and the trip was for 18th July, and I heard absolutely nothing about the trip from the company and my messages via Trip Advisor also was never answered, I assumed 9.30 am was the correct time. Therefore, an earlier notification would have been more useful instead of the email that morning. The timing difference was not so much the issue - it was the way it was handled. Anyway, Shane picked us up from outside the resort gate (there were lots of rules and restrictions as to outside companies since Island Routes, another tour company was doing business inside the resort). Shane was lovely. He understood what exactly we wanted and did not waste time taking us to places to shop, etc. because we were interested in sightseeing, not buying Knick knacks. The first place we went to was Blue Hole. We had to buy some water shoes which were available right outside the place - I think we paid $30 for it, I honestly don’t remember. They did the job pretty well. Blue Hole is spectacular. It was a good thing that Shane got us a local guide (we paid him separately) to take us around to the top because otherwise, there would be no way we could navigate that on our own. There are various routes to go to the top, the place is slippery and muddy, it can be dangerous if you’re not careful. Our guide, Wilon, was lovely. He guided us through the paths and was very mindful of our needs. He was careful and understanding of what we could and couldn’t do. He took lots of pictures of us too, which was nice. The whole Blue Hole Trip took about an hour and a half. After saying our byes to Wilon, we set out for Dunns River Falls. If Blue Hole was spectacular, Dunns River was majestic and breathtaking - all 183 m (960 ft) of it! A little history of the place - In 1657, the battle of ‘Las Chorreras’ was fought between the Spanish Expeditionary Force of Cuba and the English for possession of the island. It is one of the only travertine waterfalls in the world and also one of the few rivers in the world that flows directly into the Caribbean Sea. The refreshing turquoise cascading waters, the lush rainforest surroundings, the thrill of climbing nature's staircase, the tropical flora, the symphony of the bird songs, the mist kissing your skin is a sight to behold and a thrilling experience. It is truly like stepping into a real-life paradise - a natural wonder created by the actual flow of the water’s current. The terraced limestone formations create a spectacular staircase of cascades and pools and are perfect for adventurers of all ages. Every twist and turn reveals a new angle that begs to be captured. Your camera roll will thank you for making unforgettable memories! It is nature's playground where you can climb, splash, and bask in the sheer magnificence of it all. If you want to take it easy, lounge by the crystal-clear pools and let the tranquility wash over you. For thrill seekers, try cliff diving into the refreshing pools below or even zip lining over it! Proper water shoes are a must for a secure grip. Also, the climbs are not recommended for pregnant women, people with heart conditions or high blood pressure, anyone with back, knee, or neck problems, or those under three feet tall. We did not have a tour guide for this part of the journey, and that was fine because that meant we could make our own way and decide what we wanted to do. After our adventure, we went to Scotchie's to enjoy some freshly made jerk chicken and rice and peas washed down with coconut water. The experience of Scottie’s really wasn’t that pleasant, although every trip we took that week that involved passing Ocho Rios, our drivers inevitably stopped there for us to grab lunch. Either that is the best place for Jerk or there is some kind of understanding between the tour companies and the eatery. Anyhow, both Blue Hole and Dunns River Falls really should be a bucket list item for everyone, and you probably don’t want to leave Jamaica without seeing these two iconic treasures. My only regret - I found out later that there was a beautiful beach at Dunns River Falls that our guide didn’t inform us about. Since we were already there, it wouldn't have harmed taking a peek.I would have loved to have seen that. I guess I know that for next time! Jamaica is absolutely amazing, and I can’t wait to go back again soon ❤️

Nowhere do they mention it’s a 2 hour trip there and back or that they pick you up outside the port. Driver was still 30 minutes late and by the time we made it to Dunn river we didn’t even have time to do the excursions. So if you’re on a cruise do not do this one

To my fellow audience, please do not be mislead by this information. Kaylie received all the information she needed regarding her booking, her pickup time, what to bring and duration of the commute to and between each Attraction.
Kaylie's group allowed persons on the outside to misinform them and cause a confusion, resulting in the driver being there 10 minutes late as he had to wait in line to go up to where they were standing. We specifically told her where to stand, we even sent her a whatsapp image of the sign and they failed to comply with our directions and inturn had an ill mannered behaviour when the matter was being clarified.
Traffic is very unpredictable! However the group still had ample time to Participate, again..Kaylie allowed someone to misinformed them how long it takes to climb the Falls. Instead of communicating with their knowledgeable driver/tour guide about this they proceed to walk around to buy souvenirs and did not participate in climbing the falls. This is naive behavior and lack of communication on their part.
All our clients that arrived by Cruise to do Excursions always made it back to Port in time, we made that our priority to monitor the time for them.

Both the blue hole and dunns river were so cool and great to see! Highly recommend this tour! Shane took us to both spots and made sure we had guides /know how to best explore at each location. He was very nice and a great driver!

The reps (Alexia/Shereish from Amstar) were very helpful in providing information about the excursion and in booking our trip. We had a blast! The ride was lengthy but it was an amazing experience!
