What a beautiful and informative excursion. Don't be hesitant to go on this adventure - the walk is mild even for those of us with a few aches and pains. Shared the 12 person van with people from Canada, Arizona and Oregon with Charles being the perfect guide. We were at the favorite photo ops before the big cruise buses arrived and got to see all God's glory without being surrounded by hundreds of people. Since it was a small group, we were able to ask questions (really didn't need many as Charles provided commentary) and actually hear his answers. This was a highlight from our cruise. Definitely recommended if you enjoy a walk in unspoiled nature.

This was a great tour. Our guide was Charles. Although the rainforest itself was amazing to see, the historical information Charles provided from the very time of getting into the vehicle was great. Our guide was very safety conscious both in and around the vehicle as well as while walking at several stop.
The directions from Castillo Tours after making the reservations was very accurate and easy to understand.
The @ 50 min ride from our meeting point in Old San Juan was very comfortable.

Thank you for the amazing trip to El Yunque Rainforest. Our group agrees that this was one of the most memorable stops on our cruise. We had a large group of 12, and half comprised of kids 12 and under. Your pickup was perfect, right off the boat and into you very nice and super clean van. Very educational on the ride there and back. Excellent stops for site seeing and the kids especially loved the last spot since they were able to swim. We returned to the ship with time to spare. Thanks for the tips, when we returned, about other things to check out and try before departing. Highly recommend this trip and again Thank You for such a wonderful memory!

We had the best tour guide! Charles was professional, personable and most of all very knowledgeable about all aspects of Puerto Rico and El Yunque.
Our in town pickup was flawless and right on time. Our tour allowed us to see many vistas of the Northeast part of Puerto Rico in addition to El Yunque.
The Rainforest tour was excellent, so much to see, and just the right amount of exercise.
Thank you again, Charles for making our tour a memorable one and for making us feel safe during the drive there and back.

Charlie, our tour guide with Castillo tours was amazing. He not only showed us the beautiful El Yunque Rainforest, but gave us an excellent overview of Puerto Rico on the way there. He is passionate about Puerto Rico, and is willing to answer any and all questions you may have about this island paradise that is 185 miles long by 48 miles wide.

Trip was a perfect blend of sight seeing and education about the area, nature, and the people. Ramon was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The tour included a very short easy hike that I would recommend for anyone able to climb a few flights of stairs comfortably. The observation tower is one of the most comfortable ones I’ve been in. Wide stairwells with open air windows to allow for breeze. Again, not difficult at all for anyone able to climb a few flights of stairs on their own. Would recommend!!

Our guide Ramon was very knowledgeable about the rain forest and the history of Puerto Rico. The highlight is the walk down to the swimming hole. Otherwise the remainder of the tour is just OK. We went to the lookout tower and had a photo opportunity at a waterfall. Overall a very crowded tourist spot.

Our tour guide was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and very kind. We stopped at some wonderful view points and took great pictures that will last a lifetime. This tour did include a hike that was listed as moderate. My mother(early 80s) and I(hip issues) opted not do this part of of tour. While our group was on the hike, we visited the gift shop and walked around some of the area until our group returned from the hike.

Excellent trip. Charles had an incredible knowledge of not only El Yunque but also PR as a whole. The drive into the rainforest was anything but boring — Charles filled the drive with lots of interesting facts and pointed out the different towns and the history of the land.
On this trip you drive into the rainforest, stop at the observation tower, go on a hike, and stop by a river, with Charles actively giving facts along the way. It’s the perfect balance of activity and relaxation. The tours where you go straight to the water holes were not as appealing to us. You get the best of El Yunque on this tour!

Good morning! We are looking at a trip to PR about January 22-26th but are saddened to hear about the trauma your island has experienced this week. I’m looking for advise on dates. Do you think we will be able to experience the island next week or should we wait until more recovery is complete?

I can only answer the question saying that it sounds as thought most of the earthquake damage was in the southern part of the island. But, we did feel trembling in San Juan and I think I read that they suspect that there may be some more activity. I am not a Puerto Rican resident. I just visited for 9 days in December and January.

I stayed at the Old San Juan Sheraton Hotel directly across the street from the cruise terminal and was picked up there. You should be within easy walking distance from a pick up point, but check with the tour provider for a confirmation of when and where you will be picked up and dropped off.

Hello- I used their services in San Juan to visit El Yunque and they were great! They picked us up from our hotel and our tour guide was awesome. They will pick you up from the cruise port. Safe travels and enjoy your trip!
