We definitely snorkeled with sea turtles 🐢 ❤️ And we kayaked across a stretch of ocean to an island (this pushed my faith) but I LOVED it! Sven was a wonderful guide. He was knowledgeable about local flora and he took photos of us with the turtles and knew exactly when and where to find them. It’s an adventurous, physically demanding trip - we were both pooped at the end of it- but TOTALLY worth it.

I'm glad to hear that you loved the tour. Sven lets the guests determine how far they want to kayak and like your review says, some choose to go just outside their comfort zone and find it very rewarding. We do offer this same tour for families and guests who want an easy kayaking experience too. Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience!

What a great adventure this is!!! Sven was our guide and he was very informative about the ecology, trees, fruits, all things about the island, how certain animals ended up on the island, etc. Saw plenty of turtles and enjoyed a private beach. Then for the kayaking, he took us down to an area only accessible by off-roading so we 4x4'd down the mountain to a very remote area to kayak. It was SO FUN!! He had a nice lunch of sandwiches prepared for us, cookies included and soda or water. He allowed us to go at our own pace and never hurried us and was always informative about whatever environment we were in. This is a great tour... take it if you love adventure and sea turtles... OH, and we were both new to snorkeling, so our first excursion, this was great to a get a good lesson on snorkel equipment from Sven!! Valuable info I used the rest of my stay!

Our extended family of 8 (ranging in age from 9 to 72) booked a private sea turtle kayak and snorkel tour. Everyone had a wonderful time and learned a lot about the ecology of the island! We saw many sea turtles, squid, octopus, crabs, and plenty of fish on our snorkel tour. The grandparents enjoyed a beach break while the rest of us kayaked, then we hand lunch and a short nature walk. Sven and Michelle took lots of great photos, both under and above water, which they edited and sent to us after the tour. Definitely recommended.

My friend and I signed up for this excursion not really knowing what to expect. It exceeded all of our expectations. Learning to kayak with Sven was great. He was a good teacher and showed us much of the Sea life while we rowed. Snorkeling equipment was excellent and he pointed out many of the things we saw on the coral. The best part was the turtles. We were served a good lunch and we're sent pictures. Well worth the money!!!! I would recommend this trip to everyone.

We were met just in time by Michelle and were taken to the beach. Kayak was cancelled because of rough waters which seemed to be just fine. I think this was substituted by eco-tour done by Sven which was great.
Swam in warm shallow tropical shore waters and saw a few turtles and stingrays. Overall experience is very god, great staff!

Myself, my husband, and his family all booked this excursion after hearing about the sea turtles in St.Thomas from friends. Half of the group chose the short walk version, while the other half booked the kayak trip. Both were awesome! Michelle was extremely friendly and so easy to get along with. She even drove the walking tour group to the top of a mountain to take in the views.The other group went kayaking with Sven and it was nothing short of amazing! Sven was extremely knowledgeable and made sure that everyone was enjoying their time but always remaining safe. Once completed with the first portion of the tour, we all met on the beach where the snorkeling with sea turtles excursion began. It was absolutely breathtaking!! Saw TONS of sea turtles, stingrays, fish (including a HUGE tarpon), octopus, and tons of birds. After snorkeling, we all relaxed on beach chairs and ate the lunch provided which was delicious! Then when we thought it was coming to an end, Sven took us tarantula hunting! YES, tarantulas. It was the most unexpected but exciting experience. Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better excursion. Thank you so much Michelle and Sven! I highly recommend this experience!

I'm so glad my family and I went on this excursion. Sven was the best! He gave us some great history of the island, current events happing around the island, culture, and ecosystem education. We actually ran into 2 dolphins on the kayak out from the beach and jumped off to swim with them! They were very playful and swam right up to the kayaks and were within arms reach as we were in the water with them. Once we made it to the beach area we beached the kayaks and did the snorkel tour with turtles. We saw TONS of them. One even came up for air within arms reach of me. We also saw a large stingray, octopus, squid, numerous fish, fire coral, upside-down jellyfish, tarpon, etc. I highly recommend this tour. It gets you out with nature and is very educational. The tarantula hunting was a perfect ending to our trip. Thanks to Sven and Michelle for everything, especially the underwater pictures!

Although we had kayaked in the ocean before, Sven gave us some instruction prior to entering the water and it definitely improved our kayaking, so that was a nice bonus!
We arrived on St Thomas on a cruise ship but Sven guided us to a quiet, deserted bay where we were able to snorkel and marvel at the beautiful coral and fishes. He also took some great photos of us which he sent us afterwards. After the provided lunch, he then led us to another bay where we found turtles and rays. He was very careful about not disturbing the turtles which was a nice change since we go to Hawaii a lot and have seen so many instances of people chasing after turtles for photo ops.
Throughout our tour, Sven narrated with information about the island's history and the flora and fauna we were seeing. He capped it off by showing us how to "fish" for tarantulas and it was something I'll remember for a long time.

Sven did a nice job sharing information during the kayak piece of the tour, altho at times very hard to hear what he was saying. He also did a very good job locating turtles while snorkeling at Honeymoon beach at Water island.
While the ad mentions a 1.5 mile to kayak - it seemed much farther and on that particular day there were some pretty serious waves to contend with. When they say you need to be in reasonable condition for the kayak piece - they were not kidding~!

Thank you for taking the time to share about your experience. I hope you are doing well and enjoying retirement in the Caribbean!
I'm glad you enjoyed swimming with sea turtles and the educational aspect of our kayak and sea turtle snorkel tour. I'm sorry that you missed some of the narrative during the tour. With only 6 guests per guide on our tours, we always have one on one interaction with each guest to answer any questions someone may have, so some of the narrative a guide may have is one on one and not broadly announced to all.
Since you were the only participant in your duo on the tandem kayak who was padding, it is not surprising that the kayaking segment was strenuous and felt like more than 1.5 miles. This is a kayak tour designed for two participants actively paddling. While one person paddling in a single kayak would be a moderate workout and still fun, I would say it is too challenging for one person to do alone in a tandem. The kayaking segment is 3 miles in total (1.5 miles each way). We do encounter waves as part of the paddling takes place in the open sea. Many find the waves are a fun part of the kayaking. If there were “serious waves”, we would have canceled the kayak tour.
It's true, our description of the kayaking is no joke. It is geared for those who are “fit and active”. When two fit & active people both paddle, the kayaking is a fun and active experience!
We do offer a nature walk version of this tour too where guests have a short guided walk to a bay abundant in sea turtles, lunch and time to relax at the beach. The nature walk is usually preferred by those who want a more relaxing day or don't want to kayak.

This was an amazing experience with Sven. He was so patient with my husband who can't get hos ears too wet. We saw so many sea turtles. It was the highlight of our vacation. Michelle was so helpful on the island. I highly recommend these friendly and knowledgeable people. Amazing experience

We are so happy to hear that you had an amazing experience with us! It is incredible to be so close to the sea turtles in their natural habitat whilst maintaining that they are not disturbed, so that we can see how they behave in the wild.
