Everything about this cruise experience was well organised and of a very high standard. We are comparing it to western europe-style experiences and this cruise rates extreme highly. Pick up was on time, and very comfortable. Water provided for the trip. Boarding and check-in was smooth and efficient. The ship was spotlessly clean and the decor was beautiful. Food was plentiful and to a very high standard. One of our party had a fish allergy and this was accommodated with ease. Activities were on time and as described. I would advise to bring walking shoes for ti top island and the caves. The scenery is simply breathtaking. The staff were exceptional. They were informative about the area&history and happy to answer any questions we had. The jacuzzi was an extra touch of luxury! A huge thank you and many compliments to Cruise Manager Ha and his team. I highly recommend this trip as a luxurious experience and it is well worth the cost of the trip.

Tim who ran the cruise was amazing and well supported by Justin ! The caves trip & kayaking were great fun & scenery spectacular, Tim also ran the tai chi class and did a great job ! Although we did not book the car with Athena (we should have) they could not do enough in making certain we got picked up by communication with the unprofessional people we booked with called funny travel.

Great cruise experience with many interesting activities and great food. They obliged our request for vegetarian food and it was excellent. Staff are very friendly, jovial and hospitable

A must do when in Vietnam. Kayaking and cave tour was amazing. Our tour guide, Tuan, help to make this excursion the best! He spoke good English, had a good sense of humour, and ensure our stay was comfortable. He socialized with everyone to get to know us. The ship was clean, comfortable rooms, and friendly attentive staff. The meals were moderate. Highly recommend.

A brilliant experience and the staff were amazing fully recommended. The schedule works really well we loved the kayaks and taking part in the morning tai chi.

We had a great overnight trip on Athena Luxury Cruise. Chien is a great cruise director. The boat is really nice with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff could not do enough for us throughout the whole cruise and they really made the trip special with their hospitality. The food was great. We did the cave kayaking which was a great experience along with the cave tour. The whole experience felt luxurious and we had no complaints. Definitely recommended and will do again. Thank you Danny of September Travel for booking for us.

The cruise has service staff that do not understand English. They were very much troubled to serve boiling milk, refill drinking water in bottles kept in the rooms. Not able to comprehend what was so troublesome. The room heater was not functioning correctly for room 206 on 16-01-2023. Suffered a lot with temperatures around 12 deg Celsius.

I had booked for Athena luxury cruise ( although there was a miscommunication with my agent - Halong bay cruise hunters as i had paid for Athena Royal)
Anyways from the start Mr Tim the cruise manager was very efficient and helpful with everything. All the staff were cordial and helpful. The suite ( triple suite with private balcony) was on the ground floor of the ship and it was large and comfortable
The lunch buffet had limited options and it could do with a little more flavor and taste. however the ambiance on deck in evening, happy hour from 6-7PM, set menu ( which had to be pre -ordered) for dinner, brunch etc. were fantastic
the trips ( day 1 3-5PM and day 2 7.30AM) they took us to were also well managed although i don't suggest the tiptop island beach during winters because the water is very cold and swimming isnt allowed. there are no shower rooms and changing rooms on the island

Fantastic cruise of Ha Long Bay, the boat and facilities were exceptional and the staff aimed to please at every moment. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Vietnam.

The trip included transportation from hotel in old quarter of Hanoi and for an additional $30 USD they took us (7 people) back to the Hanoi airport. We were there at the beginning of January and it was pleasant (mid 70s) we also went a couple of years ago in June and it was really hot.
What is the cost for round trip transfer from Hanoi to the boat? Please provide a budget option. Thank you.
