Had a great tour with Jorge Sanchez. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable and it showed that he definitely enjoyed his job. We opted not to take one of the excursions offered by our cruise ship and so glad we made that decision. Jorge was on the dock offering his service at a very reasonable price. And most importantly, no money exchanged hands until we returned safely to the dock. I would highly recommend this great tour - the highlight being the cliff divers!

A lot of time spent in a van. Traffic was heavy. Best part was seeing the cliff divers. Unfortunately we were in a van that everyone else had purchased the lunch and beach package of which we did not. Our driver was not aware of this fact. Jesus was our driver and he was gracious enough to take us back to the ship after dropping everyone else off for lunch. “Shopping” was stopping at different vendors on the side of the road. Did not spend much on this excursion…you get what you pay for.

We had a personal tour which we were able to design. I wanted to purchase vanilla and a bottle of Damiana. Cesar took us to the best stores and made sure we were treated like royalty. He was very informative and friendly. Really recommend this tour for first timers to Mazatlan.

Great family time in the Summer of 2019. We did a city tour and then went to an all inclusive beach facility that provided various water activities, food, drink and much more. The family loved the experience.

Hello everyone
As first time visitors to Mazatlan off a cruise ship. We were lost and had no excursions planned. As we made it thur the visitor center. We were greeted by a lovely lady holding a TripAdvisor sign. I looked at my husband and said let's do this excursion. The lovely lady took us over to a table. The gentleman gave me and my husband a red number. We put it on our shirts and waiting for a group to conform. A gentleman named HOMEY was our tour guide for the day. Everyone in our group 8 of us followed Homey to his van. Homey was very knowledgeable and very professional. He told us many things about Mazatlan and the background. We seen many things in the town and Homey was informative. I liked the cliff divers and Homey's stories. I like to shop and had the opportunity to do so. I was amazed how different cultures live on a daily basis. I highly recommended this excursion and the best 30.00 dollars. That I spend on a 3 plus hour van tour. Also Homey took us to a fantastic place for lunch amazing.
Sincerely

In January husband and I along with three friends took a van tour of Mazatlan with JeanCarlo Jimenez and we all agreed it was the BEST day of our four days in the Mexican Riviera. The van was clean, comfortable, and well air conditioned and the price was a great value for the personalized tour. JeanCarlo was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and attentive to our every need. The sights we saw and the places we went were perfect for us. Thank you, JeanCarlo!

Our family’s first time in Mazatlán! We came in for the day on a cruise ship, we booked directly through the company. Follow the link for their website, in English, and there will be a US number to contact. Easy and cheaper than booking elsewhere.
After a short golf cart trip through the shipping yards, we arrived at the Mazatlán port terminal. The Mazatlán Van Tour representative was right inside the front door. Our tour started a little late, but that time was more than made up for. We had scheduled a 3 hour tour, in reality it was 4+ hours without lunch.
Our first stop was the fisherman’s port, where we learned how fishing kept Mazatlán’s economy viable long before tourists arrived. Our tour guide, Gabriel, grew up near this area and was a wealth of information and answered our many questions. Gabriel lived and studied English near where we live in Colorado, and his language skills were excellent. He was easy to understand, and even encouraged my very basic Spanish.
Next we started along the Malecon, a street so long the name changes 4 times. We stopped at a heart shaped lookout with amazing city views. Gabriel pointed out and explained each monument we passed, as well as the history and current culture of each neighborhood.
We headed to downtown Mazatlán, it was New Year’s Eve and crowded. It was fascinating to see Mazatlán locals buying what they needed for the holiday in busy markets, outdoor seafood stalls and modern department stores. We stopped at the Basilica Cathedral, Gabriel narrated the history of its financing and building. We were only given 20 minutes to explore the Cathedral, grand plaza, the busy market 2 blocks away, and surrounding shops. We could have spent at least an hour here and still barely seen any of it, but it would have been nice to have a few more minutes.
Next we saw the famous Mazatlán cliff divers. We climbed to the top of one of the towers to watch a professional diver perform. He clearly knew what he was doing, and was up front about asking for money. It was $5 well spent.
We passed the Gate of the Devil, Gabriel told us the various legends surrounding how it got its name. We drove through the Golden Zone and stopped in front of a shopping complex. It was obvious there was a financial arrangement between the store and the Mazatlán Van Tours, which was not a huge surprise on a tour like this. They allowed us to use their bathrooms, had free margaritas and drinks, and we ended up buying a few things that were reasonably priced.
After that the tour should have ended, and half of the group did go back to the ship. The rest of us wanted to eat lunch in Mazatlán, and we were taken to a restaurant in a suburban mall parking lot. It became clear that this was also the restaurant we would have been taken to had we chosen the tour lunch option. The only patrons were from Mazatlán Van Tours and the tour drivers were being fed up front. The menu was almost exclusively seafood but reasonably priced, the portions were large and the food tasted pretty good. They had huge $3 margaritas as well. There were horses at the restaurant, which the kids enjoyed. If I had it to do over again, I would have preferred to pick my own restaurant for lunch.
At 3:30 Gabriel drove us back to the port and we said goodbye.
The was a great first tour if you’re new to Mazatlán and not sure what you want to see. It wasn’t perfect, but our personable tour guide and the beauty and excitement of Mazatlán made it a 5 star experience. We felt safe with the kids, and now we know which areas we’d like to explore in depth next time. Thank you, Gabriel!

We would like to visit the Golden Zone in Mazatlan for at least an hour . We will be arriving on January 9, 2019 on Holland America Eurodam. The 5 hour city tour would be a good choice for us?

Yes, it gives you the most basic information about the city and also a chance to shop, 1 hour, which is sufficient to do most any shopping you would want.
Great tour.

It is about 2 hours. From our hotel, we went approximately 30 min. and then had an hour to walk through the city and so shopping and sightseeing on foot for an hour and then finished the last half of the tour.
The tour was well worth the time, money and we enjoyed the young lady who was our guide. She gave good information and took time to answer questions from those of us on the bus.
are there infant seats available in the van for a 1 year old baby?
