If you're not on a cruise ship, you probably won't get to do this. We tried to contact them several ways--phone, email, instagram--no answer. We finally reached them via chat and they said they were available every day, so when we tried to book they were not available, They tried to substitute a lame alternative which basically involved paddling a kayak to nowhere interesting on our own.

We had 4 in our group. 2 were experienced, 2 were not. I was asked when I booked if I needed an English or Spanish speaking guide, and I chose English. They gave us absolutely NO instruction whatsoever, just put our life jackets on and pushed us out which wasn't cool for the 2 people who had no idea what they were doing, trying to keep the current from taking them down while waiting for everyone else to get on their kayaks. Then the guy who spoke english stayed on the shore at first and sent us out with a guy who spoke no English. He did come and catch up eventually, but it made no difference! We still were getting no instruction. The only things he would say was "rapids, follow the guide". But then they would be so far ahead of the group, no one could actually watch them and see what path they took. Or they were complaining about wanting us to go faster. Sure, it could have been a little faster, but again, we had 2 in our group who had literally never even rowed a boat and we we all know, there's a technique to it that takes a little figuring out so we were trying to teach them the first several minutes as well. Eventually, my sister in law went over on some rapids, and those of us who were experienced knew she was safe and she would be fine, but she didn't! She completely panicked and was holding on to her kayak for dear life, just crying, and they sat there on their kayaks telling her she was fine and left us all to help her. Anytime someone needed assistance, they left us to go back and help each there. My sister in laws kayak kept taking in water after that and she was sinking. Eventually we got her to the shore and her partner switched kayaks with her. Again, the guides sat in their kayaks ahead of us watching. When we got to end and out of the water, they pulled the plug, and literally, a couple gallons of water came pouring out of the inner shell of the kayak! We were all like, seriously!? In the end, the 2 of us who were experienced loved it. The 2 who were not.. not so much. If you have people in your group who know nothing about rowing, I would not start here. They will teach you nothing! The lunch was great in the end. The tequila tour was pretty lame in comparison to the others I've done here. They point to an agave plant, tell you the process really quick in 60 seconds and you get to pick 1 or 2 to try. Most walk you through the process and it's typically pretty interesting, then you get to try every flavor. Overall, in the end we were left feeling like what did we even pay these guides for, we were basically on that water alone!

I booked this for me and my dad who is a fairly fit senior. From the description I figured it would be pretty doable and my dad was excited about this. It was a pretty hot and sunny day in mazatlan - the ride to the Presidio River was about an hour from the cruise port and we did this excursion with one couple from our ship. The couple (who were a bit heavy was having problems staying afloat on their kayaks) ended up staying back so it was just me and my dad with one of the guides. The river was fairly gentle though there were some mild rapids - the kayaks were easy to operate but my dad still went over when he lost control of his kayak after hitting some rapids.
The issue was our guide didn’t really speak English and while I tried to follow our guides path on the river, my dad didn’t realize that following him exactly was a must - otherwise you can hit some rapids wrong or end up on an area with low water levels and get stranded on rocks (both happened to my dad). After going over and paddling for 2 hours, my dad was wet, exhausted and sunburnt - he wasn’t happy :/ I did enjoy the trip - the rapids were fun and seeing all the birds was nice - but it was too much for my dad.
The nice couple who couldn’t do the excursion were apparently left there with the guide and they had to pick them up afterwards where they took the 4 of us to lunch at the restaurant operated by the tour company. The spread was tasty, more food than 6 people could eat included beer, margarita or soft drinks.
Afterwards it was another long drive back to the port. It was definitely a long day - nice but prob needed more guidance from our guides.

Muy amigables y buenos servicios! Nuestro chofer Omar tambien hizo muy buen trabajo! Nos recojieron de nuestro hotel y nos regresaron tambien. Hizimos el kayak y tirolezas y comimos muy rica comida. La tequilera tambien estubo muy bien.

First of all let me say that my cousin and I booked a kayak tour on the river becuz we're from the PNW and we've done a lot of ocean kayaking. We have sit in kayaks at home and we enjoy being on the water.. THAT said, we were picked up from our hotel by the coolest guy, who spoke very good English. He told us stories, or the history of, many of the things we saw, as we drove about an hour out of town. He transferred us to a couple of locals who spoke very little English, and were to be our guides. The river was murky/dirty and was running at a low to moderate pace.. There were about 5 areas that were quite a bit faster, but our guide went first, showed us how, and watched as we followed. There was not a lot to really see that was of interest except, there were a few areas where small swarms of yellow butterflies would come to drink. At the end, we went to a small town to have an authentic Mexican lunch, to see how they made tequila, and to a leather shop/ jeweler. Lunch was AWESOME!! We had burritos, tequila chihuahua cheese, chips n guacamole and a couple of beers. The guy that picked us up from the hotel, had lunch w us. We had a blast w him. We were told that there aren't alot of kayak tours anymore and November is not the time to go as the river is too low, as we already knew from the experience. Overall the experience was good. The best part for me was afterwards at lunch.

Took this tour and had a nice time. The drive from Mazatlan is long so total time is about 6 hours. We spent maybe two hours on the river. Strong current means you don't work hard. But there are minor rapids so be prepared to swim. Nothing dangerous but this is not a lazy never get wet. We had a great time and Manuel was very nice and helpful. Lunch was served family style and was tasty and traditional with the possible exception of the flaming cheese. Nice day outside the city with a few birds and great views.

Had fun and really enjoyed the sights along the way. Pedro provided great information on the way up and Carlos helped us get lots of good photos on the river

My husband, sister, and I went Kayaking down the Presidio River near Mazatlan. This excursion was hands down the BEST excursion of the trip.
First, they pick you up at the cruise terminal. Next, they transport you in air-conditioned vans about 45 minutes outside of Mazatlan. Then we switched cars and drove down to the river while the rest of the group drove to the area for zip lining and ATV riding. (This company offers all three options).
When we reached the river we were given a few minutes to put on some sunscreen and go to the bathroom. Heads up: there is no restroom by the river. You just have to find a bush.
After everyone got their life jackets on, we headed down the river. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The weather was slightly warm, and the water was refreshingly cold. It was perfect for kayaking. We kayaked for about 1 1/2 hours. We crossed through about 4 or 5 mini rapids. They were all easy enough for someone with no kayaking experience to navigate.
After kayaking, we travelled for about 10-15 minutes to this shaded outdoor eating area. There were bathrooms there as well, so we were able to change out of our wet clothes and shoes.
The food was AMAZING! It was the best Mexican food I have ever had!!! There were homemade tortillas, salsa, pico, beef burritos, refried beans, guacamole and chips. It was very filling and delicious.
After eating we drove back to Mazatlan in the same air-conditioned van. If we ever go back to Mazatlan, we will definitely book another excursion through Veraneando Adventure.
I also want to mention that this excursion was not available through our cruise line. We initially had some doubts about whether or not this was a safe excursion to take due to the current level 4 travel alert. I honestly felt safe the entire time. We were well taken care of, and looking back we had nothing to worry about.
Hope this review helps those who want an amazing experience while in Mazatlan.

I have mixed emotions with this review. We enjoyed this river kayaking tour and the included lunch after the kayaking was excellent. The tour group also does and Zipline and ATV ride but we didn't do those.
We had a large group and once we got there, they were short on kayaks but offered to let a few of our group zipline and ATV. The river was fun, but nothing terribly special if you have done it before. The river is pretty tame and good for all ages. The guides were good. Following the river trip, they poovided a lunch that was very delicious. The one drawback for this tour is that it is about 90 minutes away from the cruise port. If you have the time and don't have other plans in Mazatlan, they do a nice job.

Nice air-conditioned shuttle bus ride up to awesome dam with falls. Good for beginner/intermediate kayakers. Gentle river with some mild white water along the way. Many big and small species of birds hunting fish. A few lone cows along the shores. Spot turtles on the rocks before they dive into the water.
The perfect experience if you want to destress. So quiet, all you hear is gurgling water and birds chirping.
