My husband and I did this sunset cruise on Friday Oct 15th. The weather was beautiful, the crew as attentive at all times. Drinks and appetizers were good. We enjoyed the scenery and ride. However, I am giving it 3 stars because I DISLIKE the type of music playing by the crew. It was a variety of 80s music which I kind of like but not for this activity. I brought it up to the crew but didn't change it. I HIGHLY recommend playing music more suitable for this activity.

RE: Vallarta Adventures (Calle Mastil local 13 in Marina Vallarta Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco 48450).
On August 4, 2021 my wife and I were booked and reserved for a Sunset Sailboat trip operated by Vallarta Adventures. UNFOTRUNATELY, we booked the two tickets through Viator, whom through a third party Landing Tours (Bahia de Banderas). To add more layers, we used Tripadvisor as the link, and paid with Paypal. BIG mistake using Tripadvisor because of the way Vallarta Adventures hides behind the layers to avoid responsibility. When we asked to get our money back due to the dangerous conditions, the operator said we would have to contact the business we originally used to book the reservations. Of course, Vallarta Adventures appreciates the fact that they can hide behind the 3rd parties. I believe this is there preferred method.
What happened:
The weather that day at about 6:00pm started to get malevolent. Gusting winds, lightning & thunder, very poor visibility. For sure, if Vallarta Adventures is looking out for customer safety, then we were certain that the trip would be canceled. But that was not the case. Canceling the trip would require refunds… this is not acceptable for the operator or the ownership. NO REFUNDS, no matter the conditions. This is at the sole discretion of the owner, regardless of what customer think is in their best interest as safety is concerned.
We checked in before 6:00pm, the trip was supposed to leave at 6:30 PM. The weather started about 6:20. The boat captain came out to tell us the trip would be delayed until 7:00pm to see if weather would be better. It did not, we saw the crew bring out raincoats and prepare for taking us out in the rain.
At that time, we decided that this was too dangerous to continue. Actually, only about 10 of the 30 people decided to take the risk. (Thunder - lighting continued). It appeared most people either re-booked or were told to go back to their 3rd party to “try” and get refunds. NO REFUNDS were given to anyone at Vallarta Adventures. Anyone who had used LANDING TOURS, would not get a refund, and we needed to fill out an incident report. Picture attached.
When I spoke over the phone to the owner / manage, all he would say repeatedly, is that I signed their cancelation notice that states customers get NO REFUNDS - if it is the customer’s decision to not go. This to me was clear, and all I expected from him was to acknowledge that the conditions were too dangerous and that the experience would not be the same as advertised. (Sunset views, city views, etc.) there was no visibility and we were going to have to wear these dirty, unsensitized, uncomfortable raincoats. WHY force this on your valued customers? NO REFUNDS. After going back and forth with him, he then stated that his business was built on the refund policy. That he spent way to much money on the gourmet food he serves to the guests (Snack and drinks). This is not a reason to put customers at risk.
Finally, don’t take my word on this. Read all the owner’s responses to all those who have complained about safety, poor service or conditions, or their lack of providing what was promised.
The owner is well rehearsed, he apologizes, he states disappointment about customer experience, and hopes to do better or that the customers next experience is better (Although I doubt anyone would return). But never anything about providing a refund. – NO REFUNDS !!! When Vallarta Adventures cancels, it is always the same story. It is for safety reasons, what a coincidence that every time there is less then the minimal number of customers, 7 or less, and then the boats seem to experience some sort of safety issue.
OWNER has no respect for the customers… not sure how he could still be in business (other than his refund policy), and I don’t believe in all of those bogus 5-star reviews.

Good afternoon, nobody has made you any kind of fraud, you should read before buying and accept the terms and conditions of any company since it clearly says that no refunds are made applying the cancellation policies, you did not want to get on the boat because There was a very light rain and unfortunately we do not control the weather, I remind you of our cancellation policies so that they are clear, we are at your service for any clarification.
48 hours in advance or more prior to the tour date - 100% refund
24 hours in advance or more prior to the tour date - Date changes, subject to availability
Less than 12 hours prior to the tour date, no show or late arrival - No refund

This was not only a beautiful sailboat, but the crew was so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this for couples but singles would enjoy it too! Don't miss this one!!
