A nice, short, outing to two different Tzotzil villages. Our visit to Zinacantan happened to correspond to the Festival of San Sebastian, so the streets were crowded with local people wearing traditional special occasion clothing characteristic of that village. Our driver, Francisco, was not an official guide but was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He speaks Spanish and Tzotzil but not English. By coincidence he was also our driver from the Tuxtla airport to San Cristobal. Shuttle van was new and comfortable, with just 5 people in the group.

Non importa con quale agenzia la farete, perché il tour è una beffa per turisti e, mio malgrado, anche se mi ero ripromessa di non cascarci più con queste pseudo gite culturali, avevo una mezza giornata da occupare prima di partire e pensavo che avrei girato qualche mercatino liberamente e visitato la cittadina. Invece come polli da spennare vi portano in un negozietto allestito ad arte con la stessa scenetta che ripetono giorno dopo giorno, ti offrono caffè, liquore e uno spuntino e poi devi comprare, cioè, se vuoi compri...Io mi sono rifiutata per principio anche se nulla toglie alla maestria dei lavori fatti, ma se io devo pure pagare un tour per passare 1h e mezza in un negozietto, mi sento persino presa in giro. Dopo questo teatrino si va a Chamula e si visita la chiesa (questa si molto bella e particolare, ma mi domando se anche qua gli indigeni non facciano tutto a beneficio dei turisti). Costa in media 200 pesos e parte dalle 9.30 e rientro intorno alle 13-14.00.
Insomma, per me da evitare assolutamente, poi fate un po' voi e non dite che vi avevano avvisato!

Siendo los guías menos obsesivos en querer que la gente participe y cumplir con la visita a los telares indígenas, solo venden la ropa

Très déçues de cette prestation, 30 mn de retard au depart. Puis nous étions avec un groupe de 8 mexicains, et le guide ne s'est pratiquement pas occupé de nous! Nous savions que la visite était en Anglais mais nois ne pensions pas avoir seulement 5mn de commentaires sur chaque endroit!
De plus la 1ére partie du tour à consisté à faire une visite d'un magasin de souvenirs....
Ce n'était vraiment pas bien!
