DC Explorers were fantastic!
They are family owned and operated for many years here on Isla Mujeres.
I booked a private 7:00 am whale shark tour for the 3 of us women. They are so kind and helpful.
Early tour is key before all the other boats show up and with the private tour you have much more time in the water with the sharks. They provided everything including homemade cerviche, fresh fruit, sandwiches, beer, water and sodas. Afterwards they took us to playa Norte beach for a swim in the crystal clear blue water. Highly recommend this company! Support local!

The only company that guarantees whale shark sightings! Juan and Captain Willie were fantastic! They prepared a delicious lunch and our whale shark experience was amazing! Family owned and operated. Juan took incredible pictures and video and it was an experience of a lifetime. Go early! We left at 7 am and are so glad we did! Professional and friendly. Highly recommend this company. You will not be disappointed!

Swimming with whale sharks was a Bucket List adventure for me. Going out with DC Explorer on a private charter was unquestionably the best way to do it. They delivered, and then some. Not only did we see dozens of these fish but we were one of the first boats on the site (with dozens more to come!) and the very first swimmers in the water with them that day. Captain Willy and mate Luis were superb — seasoned spotters both from the boat and in the water. This was the experience of a lifetime for lovers of the sea and its inhabitants.
Not only that, Captain Willy's homemade ceviche lunch was outstanding, the absolute best ceviche I've ever had.
DC Explorer, as a company, excelled in communicating with us in a prompt, friendly and helpful way. Thank you, Julia!

Nos robaron la plata. Fuimos a hacer el tour con DC Explorer y por un accidente nos tocó devolvernos. No tenían primeros auxilios ni botiquín. No tenían como atender a la persona. Nosotros no pudimos hacer la actividad y no quisieron hacer el reembolso de un peso. La señora que nos atendió Jazmín no solo fue grosera con todos nosotros sino que además no quiso devolver ni un solo peso. Igual el dueño de la empresa Alejandro no quiso hacer reembolso, resumen, 1. No cuentan con las medidas de seguridad y por eso hay una persona en la clínica, 2. No tienen equipos de primeros auxilios, 3. Se quedaron con nuestra plata y 4. No hicimos ninguna actividad.

First time staying on isla mujeres with our 3 young kids. Such a great company to work with. They arranged pick up from airport, private boat over to isla mujeres, and golf cart rental. Will definitely use them again!

Swimming with whale sharks has been on my wife's bucket list for over 15 years and these guys made it happen! This is definitely the operation I would choose. We went two days in a row to increase the chances of seeing whale sharks. There are a few things you should know going in. The company can't control the weather (boatrides were 1 to 1 1/2 hours each direction in bumpy seas both days), they can't control the other boats (day 1 we found ourselves with 4 other boats which was nbd--day 2 we left early due to over 50 boats chasing about 10 whale sharks--not cool for the sharks at all), and they can't control whether or not you will actually find whale sharks. If you can't deal with these realities, you may want to pass on this. That being said, we have 200 dives under our belts from all over the world and this trip is in our top 10. We stayed on Isla Mujeres and did the first day with a group of 5. Second day was a VIP tour with just the two of us. Highly recommend Alex's operation. Sergio was our guide and we requested him by name for day 2.

We had a great experience swimming with the whale sharks in early July. Alejandro was great to deal with when booking, he answered ALL of my many questions with patience. Luis and the Captain were great, they were both experts with the whale shark swim. Luis held my hand to ensure I had the best views and did one on one with my 70 year old Mom.
We had 2 private boats with a total of 17 people. All thought this was the highlight of our trip.
I would recommend DC Explorers to anyone who wants a professional and safe whale shark swim.

My husband, best friend, and I travelled to Isla Mujeres to swim with whale sharks for my 50th birthday. This has been on my bucket list for so long and it exceeded our expectations! I booked a private tour because I really wanted a unique experience with just us. Our captain and mate/guide were amazing! From the nice breakfast, pictures, and total experience we were beyond happy. This was such a beautiful surreal experience. We have beautiful pictures and videos from both DC Explorer as well as our own. I will be forever grateful for this once in a lifetime experience. Thank you!

We had a family vacation to Cancun September 2020 for my husband's 50th birthday. We had a party of 11 go on the whale shark tour. Luis & Gabriel were our crew. The did a wonderful job. This trip is definitely not for the faint of stomach. Sea sickness is eminent if you suffer from that!!! We saw tons of manta rays as well as the whale sharks. Our trip included phots and video, which were a little disappointing, however, our guide was doing his best to make sure we saw the animals and do pics at the same time, which is no easy feat! A lot of our group got sea sick, however the end of the day made up for it. We stopped at Isla Mujeres north beach on our way back and it was awesome! Just what we needed. Gabriel made us fresh ceviche while we waded in the sea. It made for a great end of the day!!

DC Explorer is the best! It all starts with their excellent customer service! Timely responses, always on time, and create a life long memory! I can't say enough about how professional, fun, and effective their team is. I have used DC Explorer on multiple occasions for multiple services. Airport transfer, snorkeling, diving, whale sharks, and it was all excellent! This is a reputable company that you can count on, and I wouldn't risk my vacation with any other! Thx DC Explorer for another great vacation!
