Lots of food and lots of fun!

Marco was a wonderful guide and the food was delicious and plentiful! We went to a lively local market off of the beaten tourist path that I otherwise may not have found. I highly recommend this tour! Gracias!

Unique tastes of Yucatán through an energetic market

We've done lots of food tours around Mexico and this one was excellent! You get to dive right into the authentic experience of the region, walking through a busy market with lots of amazing sights, sounds, and smells. Make sure you don't eat too much before the tour because there's a full menu ahead, from local Yucatán specialties to seasonal fruit, to national favorites.

We, as foreigners, would never find these places, but we will go back, and the food was tasty, affordable, and unique. Our guide Marcos was fantastic, juggling us two English speakers, with a lovely couple from Mexico City.

The best food tour in Mexico!

This was one of the best food tours I've done in mexico, the food was delicious and plentiful, our host Marco was very friendly and explained all the dishes to us , it was great value for money, we were only a small group of 3 so it made it easy to get around the market, great way to try local dishes and experience the market.

Good tastes in Merida!

I set this tour up on a short solo trip to Merida. Our group of 8 was very international, welcoming, and I think we all enjoyed our three hours with Manuel. We started with a very large and refreshing drink, picking our own flavor. I had hibiscus, known locally as jamaica. Others had melon, dragonfruit, assorted citrus flavors, etc. There were more than a dozen flavors, and everyone seemed to be happy with their pick.
Next we stopped for salbutes. Most of our tastings through the afternoon were taco oriented, although some of the group chose bread over tortillas. We ended with a stop at an ice cream shop. All tastings were included in the price of the tour.
I enjoyed the group and the tour. I think the only thing I might suggest to change would be to add tastes of whatever seasonal fruits (or vegetables) are available. We are not all familiar with some of the items grown in the region.
This tour meets in the main square, near the large Merida letters. Our guide had a t-shirt with the Food tours logo and was carrying a clipboard. He was on the sidewalk closer to the street, so be sure to look around. It's worth it!

Delicious, sharp, authentic

Our guide Manuel was very open and communicative and guided us in 3 very varied hours through the old center of Mérida and across the market. We learned a lot about Mexico, Yucatán and the Maya in addition to a lot of interesting facts about the cuisine. The stops with food were very delicious and stomach-filling. We didn't need anything to eat after that... Top recommendation for Mérida, eat where the locals eat while still learning something. Very entertaining hours!
