Overall, not a great excursion. We started with a tour of the Tulum ruins. This was walking around 40 mins with a guide who just went through the basics of the ruins and then left on our own for 50 mins to walk around. Aventuras Mayas have their own 'theme' park from where we completed the remaining activities. A bit of lunch and the first activity was the ATV ride and the one which irked me the most - basically drummed into us by Jimmy that this activity was so dangerous that we would be mad not to take out the additional insurance. Jimmy pointed out a couple of ATV from earlier in the day that had been damaged in the ride. So, being responsible I paid the additional $20 per person. The ride itself is on very safe paths where you all go in single file - nothing dangerous or scenic about it at all - just a ride around some paths in the forest. Then on to the underground cenote which was the best part. Geared up with a life jacket and snorkeling gear, you enter an underground cave and swim from one point to another - amazing but limited on any snorkeling. The a quick dry off, paid $65 for the photos we are not allowed to take ourselves and hotel drop off. Longer day than expected and apart from the underground cenotes, not great in any way.

Full day excursion of a little bit of history at Tulum, followed by ATV’s and snorkeling in the caves. Guide at Tulum was very knowledgeable. We had a great guide Frantz for ATV’s and cave snorkeling. He was very knowledgeable and our safety on the ATV’s and cave snorkeling was top notch. Definitely great for teens. Lunch here was delicious as well. And we can’t forget our driver for the day Peter! He was wonderful, friendly and his driving was perfect.

1st stop Tulum ruins a quick hour and a half which is fine.
Alejandro the tour guide there was really good he knew what he's talking about without putting any spin on the Mayan culture!
2. The ATV pretty short course but it's decent, if you're one of the people that can control themselves or don't have bad luck you won't need to buy the extra insurance it's just an extra squeeze for a couple bucks from you! Just don't hit other people and don't let your tires hit the trees and you'll be okay. I think our tour guide was Max he's a good guy for the ATVs & Cave tour. Didn't take photos of you on both for purchase which I did for 45 bucks got it the next day and a zip file not a bad deal before those were good so don't hesitate.
3.Break buffet lunch which is decent because they also feed the staff with it they are on site, which is a good deal and they didn't hesitate to eat it so you know it'll be decent which it was.
4. Short Cave tour w/bats interesting but not as good as a cenote. The tour guide Max was good.
5. The only negative is having people who are young from the inner city for the van ride and tour they just don't know how to act in public and they go on a tour where you're going to do some swimming and they don't know how to swim. Which is fine but don't cut my tour short cuz you want to go party with your crew at your cheap hotel!

This was a terrible experience. not only did we wait an hour and a half in a random car rental place to move from one van to another to finally start our trip (for no reason) - we moved from a air conditioned one to a non air conditioned vehicle. 3 hours of travel with no air conditioning, as well as everywhere after - no air conditioning to be found at the ATV spot as well. you leave at 8, the next time you get to eat was 2pm. BRING FOOD!! the food at the place is also sitting in a non air conditioned area as well… my partner and i were sick after it. the ATVing was fine but they promised we would swim with turtles - instead we cave dived. cool experience, but not what i paid $500 canadian for. if you are easily heat exhausted pleaseeee skip this you will pass out.

I was having a 5 star time until I heard our guide Stolskin was telling another couple on the ATVs "Sorry I have to go slow - they didn't buy the insurance" - so how "optional" is it really??
Otherwise, here are the things I wish I knew before this tour:
- We had a group of 10. We were picked up last at 8:15am and dropped off around 3:00ish (second stop)
- They provide lockers and changing rooms, so bring all your stuff and a change of clothes
- Bring a towel for after the cenote swim, they are not provided
- I am really happy I wore water shoes for the cenote swim, but it wasn't necessary
- They provided plenty of water, I didn't need the one I brought
- There is no river like pictured in the promo photo with the ATV, we were sad we couldn't get muddy! Maybe it is different when it rains
- We were on ATVs for about 30-40 mins and swimming for about 15 mins. At the ruins we had an hour to wander on our own.
- We did the ruins last, and in January is was blazing hot; wish this was first instead
