Víctor, Luna, and Jimmy were all wonderful on this tour. They were professional, informational, and kept the atmosphere up with their humor. The food at the lunch stop was delicious. I had a wonderful time on this tour and cannot recommend it enough. It was less priced at around $80 plus the $30 fee for Chichén Itzá and $4 rental of the life vest. Very fun time, i highly suggest you do it.

What a waste of money it will be so much cheaper if you had done it by yourself federal tax is also not included plus we had to rent stuff ourselves on the sight

Everything was amazing. We learned so much about the Mayans and their culture! Saamal Cenote was breathtaking. The water was just right after a long hot day. It was a perfect way to end our tour.

The pickup was over 1 hour late. We were supposed to get water but when we showed the tour guide the email confirmation that confirmed our ticket included water he told us we’d have to ask for a refund from TripAdvisor and did not provide water. We did not spend the time we were told we’d have at all the locations AND, must annoyingly, everywhere is a trap to get you to purchase doodads, dust catchers, and “souvenirs”. After lunch, the picture which we were told we had to take, was printed and taped to a bottle of alcohol and a young man that was not on the bus at the beginning of our journey got on the bus and attempted to sell the alcohol to us. Just getting to the ruins you have to walk through a gauntlet of vendors all selling the same things and yelling out for your attention. Frankly I was surprised at this as the tour guide made it seem that the ruins were a special or sacred place. To get to the Cenote? Again, you have to walk a short distance pass shops and vendors all selling items at a premium seeing as if you’re thirsty or hungry what other option do you have but to purchase from them at whatever price they’re selling it. Bring water, bring snacks, bring hats, bring an umbrella for shade, bring portable fans or hand fans. Wear big spray and bring it with you to reapply. Wear sunscreen and bring it with you to reapply. If you have these items bring them with you along with the obvious towel, swimsuit etc.

A rushed and pushy tour. Constant expectation to buy extras on the tour. Buffet not great. Price doesn’t match experience. Not enough time to explore Chichen Itza and tour guide didn’t have time to answer questions.

The fine print says an extra tax of $20 per person is not included. The night before pickup Jessica messaged me to notify me they will be collecting this tax when I am picked up. However, Jessica could not tell me that I was going to be picked up 45 minutes late in the same messaging service. Once we got on the bus and headed to lunch they notified us that beverages, including water in 100° is not included with lunch. Then! We get to chinchin itza and they decide to DOUBLE the required taxes? The tour guide told me it was now 800 mxn? I said absolutely not that is disrespectful? You were 45 minutes late? When we got to the cenote it was announced that life jackets are REQUIRED to swim, but NOT INCLUDED. I saw three other people complain to the tour guide about their punctuality and scheming prices. Would not recommend. I have been on tours with TripAdvisor that would put this one to shame. Do better guys, be honest with the price.

We booked the Chichen Itza tour through Playa del Carmen tours, on the e-ticket it stated very clearly that pick up was from our hotel lobby. On the day we were at the lobby very early eagerly waiting for the transport to arrive, they never did. Finally got in touch with playa del Carmen tours and they said the driver has us as no shows, he was waiting at the front gates as the hotel apparently only lets in affiliated tour companies. Well no, the ticket clearly stated pick up at lobby, that’s exactly where we were, the driver said we were sent an email telling us to get picked up at the gate, funny though that all this was said an hour and a half after our pick up time
So anyway our tour was moved to the next day but it screwed our our entire planned week as we had to then move a different tour to another day as well. I don’t blame the booking agency for this but it is more on the tour company, why couldn’t the driver ask the gate security to make a simple phone call to the lobby and we could have gone to the gate.
The next day we got picked up at the gate and proceeded to chichen itza. The problem with the way they do this is that you stop for lunch at this Mayan school place, you can buy souvenirs at the very extensive gift shop, get a whole speech about the shaman and stuff then have lunch, in all it’s about a 2 hour stop here and of course a major cash grab which of course you expect.
My problem is that chichen itza is unbelievably hot and humid, it would be better to get there early and do the other stuff after. Also the tour bus apparently had cold water but none was offered to the guests apart from the people who were premium guests. Now in my opinion, they know how hot that place is, they should be making sure all guests have water to drink. We went in with our tour guide who takes you to a few spots giving you the history etc, it was extremely difficult to concentrate while standing under the baking sun, our friend started to suffer from heat stroke and my wife was not doing well either, they had to go and try to find shade and water. They couldn’t enjoy the experience at all and missed out on seeing everything, this could have been better for them had water been made available.
Don’t get me wrong, chichen itza is a must see place but I think the tour company can do much better.
After this it onto the cenote swim experience. This is a joke, you get 1 hour there, in that time you need to get your wristband, get your life jacket, which you pay for, it’s mandatory, get changed and go in the water, you are lucky if you get 15 minutes in there. We didn’t bother swimming, just knew it wouldn’t be worth it.
After this we end up stopping in this little town, all well and good but it was for 30 minutes, no time to do anything, seems pointless.
I just feel the tour company didn’t put a lot of effort into making sure guests were taken care of, seems like it was minimal effort

From the description I expected to go to chichen itza and the cenote. However we also went to a Mayan village which felt like a tourist trap and to valladolid, where we spent 30 minutes. Tour would have been better without those two stops. Chichen itza and the cenote were beautiful.
