We took the camel ride tour only at sunset on September 20, 2023. The camel ride only was not available from the drop down. Five friends wanted to ride a camel on on the beach. The bus ride is 45 minutes one way. The trip was bad from the start. We were on a bus with a full wedding party group who had control of all the music. The bride to be would play a song for maybe 30 seconds before clicking through to the next song. She did this the entire way. That is when she wasn't up dancing down the isle or climbing over other people's seats. This went on for 45 minutes. We got to the park where you pay an additional $25 per person to enter. You are not allowed to bring your phones because the tour takes all pictures for you to buy. About 10 to 15 camels were tied in a train, with 2 people per camel. The guide literally walked the camels in a circle on the beach. We were on the camel for about 5 minutes then the ride was over. What a joke! We next spent a least an hour with each person feeding a different tethered camel a carrot while more pictures were taken. This was the majority of the time, waiting to feed the camel a carrot so they could take your picture. On the way back to the welcoming center in a safari van, our tour guide talked about the different plants. He was bilingual, but lectured about 80% in Spanish. We speak English so we missed most of what he said. Remember the wedding party - well they were all on ATVs. They came roaring past us as we were parked looking at some plants. The ATVs created a huge dust cloud that doused us as we sat. Our guide just laughed. When we got back to the welcoming center filthy from the dust bowl. they provided a burrito for dinner. We ordered our food, but the returning bus came early. We literally had to chase it down to get on it. We never had any time to see our pictures. We ate our food on the way back in the bus. The burrito was so spicy that some of us got very sick on the bus. Luckily we made it back to the resort before the purge. What a horrible horrible experience. I would add some pictures, but oh yeah, we didn't get any!

Good day and thank you for the observation about the atmosphere in our transportation, we always have private services available and understand the inconvenience of music, it is normal in an ideal destination for this type of celebrations, the control of the trip should have been keep by the driver they should not move from their seats, we will be verifying the information.
All the rates and restrictions of the tours are on our official sites, magazines, website and our call center, this is to prevent any distraction while riding, the optional and dynamic purchase of our photographers offers different prices and packages.
The tours are 2 hours of experience; all tours are planned for the best experience.
Our guides will always make the entire tour enjoyable, give you all the fun and always open to your questions and comments before, during and after the tour, they are at their best to attend you. About our kitchen, all our food and ingredients are fresh and cooked at the moment.

GREAT tour guides, but TERRIBLE administration. Our tour guide was great and super friendly. When this company collapses, I hope that he is able to find a better place to work. Jesus, I believe his name was, was really kind and charismatic and he could do a lot better than this place. The guy that checked us in was the biggest a-hole. He was definitely just working for money grabs and was visibly upset that he couldn't convince us to get upgrades. I hated his attitude. Additionally, the exchange rate that the company uses to convert their money is OUTDATED. THEY ARE SCAMMING YOU. For reference, the ACTUAL FOREX rate was 16 pesos (rounded down) = $1 USD when I went, but Cactus Tours used 18 pesos = $1 USD when they calculated. They told us that the total for our tour was $375 USD, but their exchange rate actually made it OVER $400. If you're going to tell people a price in USD, you better be charging it in USD. In that case, just give me the price in pesos from the start before your transported me from my hotel and left me stranded in this stupid shack. They promised us $375 USD at our hotel, provided transportation to their shack, and told us that we would pay that exact amount there. They then proceeded to scam us with an extremely inflated exchange rate that does not even remotely resemble the price they promised in USD. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY, AND I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND

When booking this tour I did it over the phone prior to arrival thru my hotel, when arriving to the hotel I scheduled my times to do the adventure and was told it's $25 per person just to enter the park. Then when arriving to the site we are told that we can't take our phones with us because they don't allow it. We get our first tour guide and he was completely rude which caused me to walk away and request my money back from the manager, she told me that couldn't be done because of their cancelation fee and told me she'd give me a private tour for free with a new tour guide. (This kind of tour they allowed us to take our phones for photos, just not while riding the quads) The frustrating part about the whole situation was just not being told the whole pricing from beginning it felt like we were getting taken for money.
The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because Oscar our tour guide. He was so amazing, kind, passionate and just really made our experience amazing. He made my birthday the best and I am so thankful.
I do not recommend this place and will never be come back to this company again.
All based on 2 people:
$250 initial charge from hotel
$50 to get in the door
$50 for insurance (not required but scared to get blamed for breaking something)
$104 for photos (digital only)
Note: we were also told by hotel that the turbin would be included as "gear" for the camel ride but it wasn't and was $17 for 1
The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because Oscar our tour guide. He was so amazing, kind, passionate and just really made our experience amazing. He made my birthday the best and I am so thankful.

The only mandatory fee is the park entrance fee and any others are optional. We do offer a vehicle protection benefit to cover you in case of any damage to your vehicle. This protection benefit can be declined with a credit card hold for an amount that varies depending on the vehicle(s) in your reservation. We do have our cell phone policy in place for safety reasons as our activities require your full attention and these devices can often become a distraction. We do allow hands free devices such as GoPros on any tour. We are confident that we can change your perspective and provide you with an even better experience on your next visit.

This activity was so much fun! Our guide was Juan. He was knowledgeable about the terrain, and made sure we had a great time. The camel had me nervous but our camel Benito was very professional. We upgraded for the private tour. The ATV ride was so much fun. I was even able to go really fast. 5/5 I recommend Cactus Tours! Oh I do recommend you bring sunglasses and a scarf to cover your hair and face. If not they have turbans for sale, and they will tie them on for you. Enjoy!

Luis Jr. was our guide. He was amazing! It was such a beautiful experience we did camel riding and atv and let me tell y’all it was worth every penny! We all had an amazing time and they even let us feed the camel 🐪

Very fun and unique experience. Roundtrip hotel transportation good and reliable. Good AC on the bus. Luis Jr was our private tour guide. He was great, informative and knowledgeable. Cons: they will nickel and dime you from the moment you enter. Expect to pay more than the $125pp with insurance, upgrades, tips, private tours and the worst is the photo package. The hour tour includes the set up time. Make sure to track your time. It goes quick. You can take your cell phones and bags if you upgrade to a private tour. Otherwise, you have to leave cell phones and belongings in a locker. They want you to purchase the photo package. The videos are not sold separately. We were shamed by the photographer for only purchasing one picture. The photographer asked us "how we expected her to eat." She also commented that "the private tour upgrade was not worth it." If we would have stayed with the regular tour, "we would've been able to purchase the photo package." Disgusting and poor customer service skills. Our only response was to report her to her manager. Beware! All they want is your money!

I will advice anyone to avoid this company for booking any tours. What was mentioned in other reviews mentioned scammers, liars were all true. They were at least 30 mins late for pick up w/o notice if they will come or not. At check in they will sell you a very expensive insurance and scare you for potential costs if you dont buy. apart from the very expensive price of tour. If you are in a group tour, they will not allow you to bring anything especially your phone to compell you to buy their photos or to upgrade. But if you spend extra $200+ more to upgrade to private tour, you are allowed to bring you bag including your phones. What sense does that make????. We have been doing ATV’s before, this is the first one ever who forbid group tours to bring anything but private tours are ok. There are other better tour companies there who have better and fair bussiness practices than Cactus. I would check others first if you are planning to do this tour.
