Great tour with Ariel. Communication pre - pickup was great and he was very knowledgeable about the history of cholula and the pyramid. The baroque museum was a highlight and Ariel's knowledge was again first class. Highly recommended.

David, our tour guide, was very personable and full of knowledge regarding the places where we toured. He was very courteous and attentive to what we were interested in seeing. We were picked up at our hotel and drove to the largest pyramid in the world which actually looked like a large natural hill with bushes and trees and a beautiful church on top. He showed us where they excavated. It was quite a climb to the church but doable with a few stops. The church was beautiful inside with Ave Maria softly playing in the background. Pay 20 pesos so you can take pictures inside. We had seen pictures on Youtube regarding the narrow one way tunnel that people could walk through but was definitely not interested. If a person was mildly claustrophobic or 6 feet tall, it would be difficult.
We walked around the village surrounding the pyramid and tried pulque which was a mildly fermented drink made from the fermented sap of the maguey plant. I would recommend trying the flavored pulque.
Next, we drove to the Santa Maria Tonantzintla Church which had decorations in folk and indigenous Baroque style. No pictures were allowed.
Our third stop was the very modern looking International Baroque Museum. My husband appreciated the museum more than I did. We were picked up at 9 a.m. and by the time we arrived at the museum it was around 2:30 with no lunch in sight. I feel like a long tour should factor in a lunch which we would have gladly paid for.
We did not go to the San Francisco Church Acatepec which was quite a distance from the museum.
