From start to finish, clear communication. Great people interactions, checked in on comfort and were engaging about history of area. Yummy lunch! Definitely would book again.

We had the amazing pleasure of a half day ride with Brian as our guide. My goodness!! It was FABULOUS! I am an advanced rider and my friend was a first time rider. The ride blew both of our expectations away. Brian was a wonderful, friendly, experienced and patient guide. The horses are healthy (#1 priority for me), sure footed geldings from a breeder who lets a heard of 100-200 live wild in the area until they get them and begin with halter training. I was extremely impressed with the challenge of the terrain, but the safety of the horses and guide to please a complete newbie and someone whose life has been horses for decades. 1000% recommend.

Strong, smart, athletic and healthy horses. My guide was super personable, helpful and knowledgeable about horses, botany and local sights. Speaking of those sights, they were spectacular and made for a very enjoyable and unique ride. As if this weren’t enough already, lunch tasted great!
This is my second time doing this ride, and I expect I’ll be back again next year!

WOW ! What a wonderful experience. I am 67 and my niece is 22, novice riders and had great time. Neither of us had been on a horse for over 10 years. We met the wrangler and horses at trail head and he helped us get comfortable and gave excellent instructions. Then off to trails. This was NOT just follow leader down a wide flat trail, this was an actual trail ride. The paths varied, but many were similar to trails deer take up and down mountains. The horses were well trained. The views were magnificent. I would do again if every in area.

My husband and I had an amazing time doing the half day ride in the Birkenhead with CCO!! Such a beautiful landscape and an incredible way to see it! The horses were wonderful and patient even with some of the less experienced riders. We were able to trot and canter in different places on the trail which made it even more exciting! Our guide, Kate, was amazing! So personable and a joy to be around! We truly loved our experience, right down to the delicious lunch that was provided! Thanks for everything :)

We were treated to an amazing half day ride. Each of us came away saying how much better then expected it was! Josh, the guide, was great and very engaging. The horses were all well looked after and very comfortable! The trail was a mix of tight inclines and declines as well as more open trails which were all great, we even got to track through some snow cover.
I'll be recommending this tour to everyone we know visiting the area. Well done Josh and Don.

Everything at the Copper Cayeuse ranch was absolutely fabulous. The staff, the horses, the scenery - everything was all we could’ve hoped for and more. Do not hesitate to book a trip. You’ll be so glad you did.

We had a wonderful experience. Our guide, Annie, was so upbeat and knowledgeable. The horses were well taken care of and easy to ride. The ride itself was beautiful. We have done several rides and this is one of the best! Thank you!

Our trip actually started out a little bit rocky when we had requested a pickup from our lodge in Whistler and it seemed like they had forgotten about us.
However, we were able to straighten things out and this was nothing compared to the remarkable tour that my mom and I had experienced. At the farm, after getting some paperwork out of the way we witnessed the horses being loaded onto a trailer and were taken to our destination. During which, we accompanied some very nice dogs.
After a concise tutorial, we started to make our way up, which made my mom quite nervous. Quickly, she had become comfortable and I don't know if I've ever seen her laugh and enjoy herself so much. I also had a great time with our tour guide, Ally, regularly checking to see if we were okay.
The trail was fun, we got to see a mine, and a fantastic view of the landscape when we stopped for lunch (which was healthy and delicious). Ally, helped us get many great photos and overall an experience I will not forget.
If you are ever have the opportunity to take a horseback riding tour with Copper Cayuse Outfitters, it would be a mistake not to go.

Was this nose to tail type of trail ride or was there any opportunity to branch out and or trot, lope?

It’s definitely not nose to tail. You have to handle your horse even though they are super well-trained. You do walk much of the time, but you’re navigating a mountain trail so it’s still fun and engaging. We did some trotting, but you’ll need to go on the full day ride to get cantering in according to our guides. All in all, a fantastic ride though. Highly recommend it.
