I’d definitely recommend Moose to anyone - this tour was incredible and crammed in as much as possible in a short space of time! I met some amazing people from all over the world and had the best time ever on my first solo trip, I absolutely fell in love with Canada. The hostels in Whistler and Jasper are amazing, and the hostel in Banff is also really nice (great breakfast!). The drives never felt too long as we were always stopping at more viewpoints/lakes/waterfalls etc. There are lots of stops to buy food for the day/next day as needed and you can cook yourself at hostels if preferred, though we tended to venture into town to enjoy some of the restaurants and bars. The kayaking in Revelstoke and the Sea to Sky sightseeing flight en route to Whistler were two of my highlights - I’d definitely recommend both! Visiting the stunning blue lakes in Banff was also an unforgettable day, the beauty is just unbelievable.
That being said, I do want to highlight some things that could be easily improved. I know it’ll seem like the majority of my review is negative, but I did still have an incredible time - as I said, 5 stars and I would still recommend the company! I just think it’s important to highlight what can be better.
- The itinerary hasn’t been updated in over two years. I know this because we were told that the indigenous village we were supposed to visit, as well as the tunnel hiking on the same day, have both been inaccessible for over 2 years due to flooding. This was hugely disappointing as we were looking forward to these visits, and there wasn’t really any appropriate replacement (we just had lunch near a lake instead). We only had 1 free breakfast instead of the 4 listed on the itinerary. We also didn’t get the indigenous dinner in Kelowna as they’re closed on Saturdays… we just went to a chain restaurant instead. Again, really disappointing and with some better planning (e.g., not passing through Kelowna on a Saturday) could have been avoided. The hostels listed are also not all correct - e.g. we only stayed in the HI Banff, not the samesun (this was fine, but good to know in advance!). If the itinerary was accurate, there wouldn’t be any disappointment as people would know what to expect. It doesn’t take long to update a PDF document and the website!
- I had two different tour guides for the 2 days in Whistler and the 8 days in the Rockies. They said this isn’t normally what happens, and it wasn’t a big deal, it’s just that the second guide was more of a bus driver than a guide. He didn’t really engage with us at all at first, didn’t take any time to get us talking/introducing ourselves to each other, didn’t point out anything we passed on the road (I know this is difficult when driving and safety always has to come first, but our first guide managed it), didn’t tell us much about the places we visited and overall seemed fairly disinterested. He was a lovely person and towards the end of the tour chatted with us more as we had become more comfortable and talkative with each other, but there definitely wasn’t much of a fun/enthusiastic vibe. The guide for Whistler seemed much happier to be there and really engaged with us throughout.
- The bus we had for the Rockies was horrific - it was absolutely boiling hot for parts of the tour through Vancouver and Kelowna, and we had no working AC. As we were a smaller group, they gave us a smaller bus than normal, and we suffered as a result! Even though there weren’t many of us, the forecast clearly showed very hot weather, so they could’ve sent us with the bigger bus and working AC! Being on a bus with huge windows that don’t open and no AC in 35+ degree heat (think: greenhouse) was bordering on unbearable. I don’t want to sound like a Karen, but it really wasn’t safe or enjoyable. I think it’s rare for there to be such a small group for the Rockies - other tours probably didn’t experience this as they had the bigger bus, but the AC does need to be fixed before they take this small bus out again.
- At Rampart Creek, our guide cooked a chicken dish for everyone. I’m vegetarian, but I still had to pay $10 into the pot like everyone else even though I bought and cooked my own food and just had a very small amount of the group vegetables. I didn’t want to make a fuss at the time but looking back, it wasn’t really fair.
- You have to book activities in Banff yourself by calling the activity centre. I thought this was a bit odd but no big deal, until I checked my phone bill and I’ve accumulated a £40 charge for the call seeing as I have a UK phone number - and yes I was on wifi call, but I was still charged. If moose could consider this in future and book activities on behalf of people, that would be great.
- The loss of both the indigenous village visit and the indigenous dinner meant we didn’t visit any sites related to the First Nations people and their culture throughout the 8 days in the Rockies. We visited the cultural centre in Whistler, which was incredible and one of the highlights of my trip, but the vast majority of the tour joined after Whistler so they didn’t get to experience the centre. I think Moose should do more to ensure attendees are educated on the culture, customs and history of the indigenous people - even if it’s just the guide sharing information.
- Leaving a beautiful lake in Revelstoke to instead have our ‘picnic’ lunch (that we’d already purchased) at a petrol station with a Starbucks was a very weird choice.
- Our guide through the Rockies told us not to buy bottled water as there would be places to refill our bottle, but then failed to mention that on some days every place we visited would have no drinking water. It left us running very low on water sometimes (not good on a very hot bus) so towards the end of the tour we all just ended up buying additional bottled water.
That’s all my moaning done - I do think when we’re paying a lot of money some of these things need to be fixed, and I want to make sure Moose is aware of them. Regardless, I had the best time ever and am so glad I did this tour!

Had a fantastic and awesome trip meeting new friends from different parts of the world. The nature views 😍 were exhilarating, made me speechless in awe 🤩. Our tour guide Bruno was amazing, he tries to accomodate group request activity. I had lots of fun ziplining in Whistler, paddleboarding in skaha lake, kayaking in revelstoke, rafting in jasper, hiking in banff etc.

My partner and I only had 2 weeks to cram in the whole of BC. This totally ticked all the boxes. We got to see the highlights and some of the smaller, quieter tourist spots. Steph, our driver, was ace and the people travelling with us made it our most memorable trip so far. We went in August so the attractions were busy which is to be expected. The activities included were great and the hikes were incredible, with Steph as a personal tour guide. We got the accommodation package which was worth the money and totally hassle free. I would recommend Moose Bus to anyone, even if it's simply a day trip.

The Canadian scenery was beautiful. Id say about half of the days I really enjoyed and the other half were a bit underwhelming. A lot felt it could have been planned better. Picnic lunch spots were taken at places they shouldn't have been, only for us to stop half an hour later at a different location that would have been much better for lunch. I went at the end of the summer season and felt that both tour guides were tired and enthusiastic about the trip any more (Simone and David). They really felt more like bus drivers than tour guides that traditionally set a positive, enthusiastic team environment. We were not given an opportunity to introduce ourselves at the start which many people found awkward and weird. All in all the tour had great potential but by the end I was feeling frustrated about the unfriendly employees and the lack of receptiveness to our feedback/ideas.
