I took advantage of these tours in May 2023. As my stay was short, my wife and I could only utilise the 2 day ticket hop on/hop off tour in Montreal city.
In terms of the packages offered these are very reasonable. Excursions to other cities and night tours are on offer for expect price ranges.
My first qualm with this related to the ticketing system. Instead of giving a paper ticket, card, voucher or even code, you are given a paper wrist band. This is all very well but is not really a suitable approach. For example, my tour was 2 days; so I was expected to keep this wristband on for 2 days, even for unrelated evening activities such as meals out, work or even in the shower. In my mind this just doesnt work; a paper ticket would be more suitable.
In terms of stops, the tour does show you the majority of what downtown Montreal has to offer. It covers the majority of the main attractions and viewpoints in a 2 hour tour, with about 11 stop points.
Unlike other hop on/hop off bus tours in other cities I have visited, this one is a little dated in its technology. Others I have seen have headphones and plug in points for a variety of 10+ languages. Sadly, not the case here. You have a knowledgable city guide utilising a tannoy. While this is a more personal approach, it allows for significant inconsistencies and also limits the language options. For example, facts and figures on the tour are explained in English, which then is relaid in french limiting the information volumes and meaning its quite often rushed. Also, as to be expected this means some guides are more informed than others.
My final issue with this tour is the buses themselves. Most I saw were an old style London double decker bus. While this rustic 'old style' appoach will appeal to some, its fails in its modern amenities. As stated above, commentary is provided over a tannoy with english or french language in most cases. Seats are unfortunately quite small, not good if you are tall like myself, with limited legroom available. The furnishings are also very dated and could do with a decent refurb, which may cut away from the old style. The one modern bus we saw/used was better, however aircon was very inefficient and also the door jammed on conclusion of the tour.
Overall, this tour is reasonable in what it shows, however it is definetly in need of modernisation in its technology and operational approach. Have seen much better arranged hop on/off bus tours in other cities.

This was the worst hop on hop off bus tour we have ever taken. The information desk that sold us the tickets only 5 minutes before the bus tour started never told us that there would be two stops that were canceled for today and the two stops were more important stops. They were in Mont Royal. Secondly, the stops for the attractions weren’t even worth the money to go on this trip. There were no pictures we could take from the bus unlike so many other hop on hop off experiences we have taken. I can’t believe the notre dame basilica wasn’t even a stop . Then the tour guy had the audacity to lecture about tipping in North America . As Americans , it’s a custom to tip for good service… Based on the above facts no tipping was warranted for today and we overpaid for a tour that was beyond disappointment.

I don't understand why this tour is even held. The bus ride at 25 mph lasted 1.5 hours. There are absolutely nothing to see on this tour. The last three stops, which were suppose to be the most enjoyable, where skipped because of the road work. The rest highlighted on the tour you can see by walking downtown Philadelphia for 25 minutes.

Day 1 we rode the older double deckers. Very hot day and inside there was no air and only a few small windows. Upstairs there was very little leg room. Very bumpy ride, felt like I got whiplash. One guide was great, the other terrible and rude when questions were asked. Day 2 we were on newer double deckers with working AC inside and leg room upstairs. One guide spoke mostly in French, the other guide was great. Day 2 skipped several stops due to constructions. Nice to see a little of the city, but it is also very walkable.

Truly a waste of money. So little history shared, guide would reference a name of a building or statue and that’s it, no info as to significance.

Great way to see the city and area. We did half the route and got off - 1st guide was great- he recommended a street fair and a music thing going on in a park near the route. Told of different historical food places, with years of serving Montreal. 2nd guide was good, just not as many Montreal touches. The only thing i couldn’t find on line was the route map with stop schedule. They handed us one on the bus.

Easy way to see the city and choose where to spend time without having to drive and park. All the guides were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Not that much to see in the city unfortunately and the areas we liked were more walkable in the old town.
Ok tour with great and humorous live commentary that helped make it an interesting couple of hours.

We purchased the 2 day ticket (only one that was offered) but ended up using it for only one day.
Prior to hopping on the bus, we had been on a great walking tour in old Montreal. As the bus proceeded, we felt we had received a much greater level of understanding from the previous tour.
That aside, the dialog of our guide was interesting (he was only speaking English). When a couple of French speaking folks got on the bus that changed as our guide had to switch between the two languages. Not his fault, but we felt we received less information as he continually was switching languages.
In my humble opinion, there are better ways to tour this incredible city.

A little confusing if you’re not starting your day at stop 1. Once you board you’re given a time schedule, but wish this had been available on line to avoid us waiting a long time at stop 5. Anyway, I recommend doing the full two hour tour first to really see the city. If you begin at a stop other than the official start, then you’ll have to change busses. If you sit up top, it’s windy. Also , wear sunscreen. Tour guides were good, but the constant, and I mean, constant, plea for tips was extremely annoying. If you’re only on for a few stops at a time, it can really add up. The trip is expensive enough, without being told that the tips pay their salaries and it’s bad karma to not tip. Honestly made us walk once when we saw the guide was the bad karma hippy guy.
