The ride was amazing, but the food need be better, I advice you don’t wait for lunch, eat well before to don’t be hungry during the ride

We had been to Saona Island before and knew what to expect. I had booked the excursion through the Air Transat website but it turned out that I was booking with Viatour. It took me about 2 hours to confirm that I would be travelling with Pleasant Tours. We were to be picked up at our hotel at 7am but a text changed it to 8am. We left at 8am and were taken to a central consolidation cafe where people from other hotels joined us. We left in a van in which the a/c was not working and we later found out the compressor was broken. When we got on the catamaran we had to wait about an hour for another group to join us. As a result we got to Saona at 1pm instead of 12pm. The lunch that was available was just passable. Then the beach, which is beautiful, where we were to swim was crowded with boats from the catamarans. Very hard to enjoy. I should add that the bathrooms where we were located were disgusting and the shower consisted of a hose with a tap on the end. The whole time we were pursued by a photographer who kept wanting to take our picture even when we told him we were not interested. Later he asked for $150 for the digital photos which we told him we didn’t want. On the return trip, our guide did not accompany us so we were totally in the hands of the van driver. Perhaps he didn’t want to ride in a van without a/c. I would rate this as a second or third rate excursion and certainly not like the Nexus tour we had taken previously. On a more positive note we had fun dancing on the catamaran and swimming in the lagoon. I would not recommend Pleasant Tours for a trip to Saona Island.
