We booked this tour through the hotel excursions. It was $75.00 USD. It's a full day, lunch is included.
On our way to Santo Domingo, all along the sides of the roads are totally disgusting. Tons of garbage everywhere. Animals feeding themselves in the garbage. NEVER saw so many in a town where everyone can see. Definitely not a pretty sight.
Be prepared to walk a lot. The sights are beautiful, the cathedral, museum etc. You get some time for shopping. Lunch was very good.
We came back at the hotel around 4:45pm.

Dynamic tour.
Well informed guide. All the time explaining about everything in Spanish and English.
First stop for our bus was to buy magnets 7 for 10$, have cash with you.
Cool spots of the city.
It was worth it because you dont need to worry about organizing, eating, thinking about what sightseeings to check etc. Everything is well planned but might be a bit fast for some people. If you want more time to explore the center yourself maybe don't enter in the main cathedral, just talk to your guide and set an appointment to gather again.

Shortly after 7am, a large red bus pulled up in front of our hotel and we got on board. The bus was packed, but we were happy to discover two seats together close to the back.
After a five minute drive, we pulled into a parking lot. A man with a clipboard boarded the bus and shouted out my name. He directed us to get off the bus and board a small van. We got on the van and I asked the driver why there was no one else on board. He must not have understood English because he ignored my question.
Another short drive, and we parked in a lot with many buses around. The door of our van was opened and two men asked us for our tickets. Once we showed them our tickets they told us to get on a bus. We must not have been moving fast enough for them because they forcibly pulled us out of the van despite our objections. It was the rudest thing I have ever experienced on a tour.
The bus we boarded had only two seats left and they were not together. The air conditioning was barely on, and the temperature was warm and uncomfortable. English speakers were in a minority and the guide did little to cater to us. He would go through lengthy explanations in Spanish and then say a few words in English that were hard to understand as an after-thought.
I would say that the descriptions for the activities were accurate. Lunch was fine. After visiting the Cathedral, our guide put little stickers on each of us. I assumed they were to show proof of payment for some activity or monument we were about to enjoy. Instead, the next few "sites" we visited were expensive retailers. The guide took the time to tell us in English that the merchandise was exceptional quality. I realized the stickers indicated which tour we belonged to so that the operator could get a cut of any purchases we made.
Our trip back was long and uncomfortable.
If you choose this tour, I hope you have better luck.

Lasst es! Das grenzt an Betrug. Das Programm hat vielleicht eine Stunde gedauert, ansonsten wurden wir in insgesamt 6 souvenirsshops gezwungen, in denen wir völlig überteuertes Zeug kaufen sollten, für das der Guide Provision bekommt. Der Transport hin hat 4 Stunden gedauert, zurück 1,5h. Obwohl wir angeblich trinken bekommen sollten, hat man uns 5h auf dem trocknen sitzen lassen, bevor wir im Restaurant was bekommen haben. Tres ojos ist schön, aber leider so mit Menschen überfüllt dass man wenig davon hat. Von der Stadt sieht man die Kathedrale und das Columbus Haus, was beides ungefähr 15 Minuten einnimmt, weil es dort nicht zu viel zu sehen gibt. Das Essen war furchtbar. Ich habe viele Führungen gemacht, aber sodas hab ich wirklich noch nie erlebt.

Más que la calidad de la excursión, siempre algo subjetivo, lo que no nos gustó fue la organización y el talante general. La empresa organizadora fue Viator Supplier. De entrada, por el tema Covid, la actividad no podia superar los 15 viajeros como máximo y en la furgoneta nos encontramos 22. Nadie llevaba inicialmente la mascarilla, incluido el guia, sr. Nicolás. Cuando accedimos, algunos se la colocaron a regañadientes. La excursión se cumplió más o menos con lo previsto aunque tuvimos que insistir para visitar la Catedral porque la mayoría del grupo estaba cansado. En la comida en un restaurante local todo fueron prisas cuando después 'perdimos' mucho tiempo en la tienda de souvenirs. El sr. Nicolás me pareció un personaje. Con oficio, ya veterano en estas lides, y profesional, pero mucho más preocupado en satisfacer las propuestas de determinados pasajeros en cuanto a bebida y delirios musicales, totalmente insoportables en el trayecto de vuelta en que se desmadró por completo. Ya sin mascarilla, con gritos, cantando a menos de un metro. Es lógico un ambiente de alegria y distendido cuando se viaja y nosotros tenemos muchísimas experiencias, pero en las actuales circunstancias sanitarias la situación fue de absoluta falta de respeto hacia las personas que queríamos cumplir las normas. La excursión tampoco valió mucho la pena. Supongo que se podría hacer mucho más atractiva con menos paradas para cervezas y souvenirs. Mucho a mejorar. Nada recomendable.

Experience wasn’t the best. From the driver to the tour guide they just displayed unprofessional which was disappointing.

Offered pick up and drop off to hotel which is nice. Small comfortable bus and short ride to santo domingo. We had a great guide Miguel he was very helpful, kind and professional and showed us 3 eyes lake cathedral and other spots in the city. I would recommend! A++
