Excellent start to finish. 45 minute boat ride to the island; bus tour of the museum followed by walking tour of the prison led by a former prisoner. Bonus points: whale sightings. Highly recommend taking in this essential piece of South Africa’s history.

This Robbin Island trip was absolutely phenomenal. We were a group of friends. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very informative about this Historical place and also had an amazing sense of humor which made us feel welcomed and comfortable asking questions. He brought the history to Life. Sad stories though what they went through.
I would Highly recommend them as you would definitely get good value for your money. Kudos to the Tour Guide for the incredible service .

We were a group of young and not so young. Some of the people in the group had mobility issues and the staff were kind and attentive. They made sure to accommodate everyone in our group from the time we were picked up at the hotel, to the time we returned back to the hotel.
Robben islands historical importance to South Africa is undeniable. The walking tour of the former prison site was guided by a former political activist inmate. To say that the experience was immersive would be an understatement.
The driving portion of the tour was guided by a knowledgeable and passionate guide. This part of the tour showcased both the human and ecological present and history of the island, presenting both its natural beauty and its ugly truths.
If you can, make this trip.

This was overpriced as the tour guide picked us up and dropped us off at the ferry terminal, we could have gotten an Uber for much cheaper. The island tour itself was ok, a lot of it was by bus and was rushed. When we were able to tour the prison cells we were rushed along and didn’t even have time to read the descriptions. Nelson Mandala’s cell looked like all the rest. I think there is a missed opportunity here to really make people feel the gravity of apartheid and educate them. Luckily I read A Long Walk to Freedom beforehand, otherwise it wouldn’t have meant anything to me.

Had no preconceptions about the tour, however for what it was, it was extremely overpriced. Definitely not value for money.

This “tour” is a resell of a tour that can be purchased directly from robben island’s website for $35. This “guide” buys you the $35 ticket, keeps the remainder as a 200% profit sends you on your way and goes home. Paying $200 for 2 tickets when you can get them directly for $70 on site or on the robben island website is hilarious.

The Peninsula Tour was an amazing way to view some of the most beautiful scenery and wildlife that Cape Town has to offer. After 3 people dropped out we had a small group attend which made for a very personal tour on the day. Our guide T was really friendly and informative, making sure that all our queries were answered (including great food and drink tips!) and that we had a really enjoyable experience. Bobby was great also in driving us to each stop on the tour. Particular highlights were the boat trip to seal island, the penguins on Boulder Beach and walk at Cape Point. A brilliant way to spend a day touring Cape Town!

Only a transportation tour including ticket to Robbben island, so it's not really a tour, everything went smoothly though with pick up and drop off, the guy who picked me up and dropped me up was very good and very client centric .

The service, the boat and check-in were all very well done. The price was a little steep but we were pleased to be a part of history.
The guided tours were good- both on the bus and the walk around the prison.
It was a bit disappointing though in terms of the actual site. For a UNESCO site, it really needs greater exhibits and information. It was disjointed and not well explained and I was left needing to read up on a lot of the basic history.
Well worth it though and glad we went.
If you get seasick, bring something to help with the nausea!
