This tour was the most anticipated activity while visiting Capri for the day. We chose this because it featured the circumnavigation of the island and the option to visit the Blue Grotto (time permitting). The tour around the island was spectacular and should not be missed. The boat was large enough to accommodate more than 50 people but small enough to give you an intimate view of the coastline.
On the positive side, the price was reasonable and the captain did a great job bringing us close to points of interest and allowing ample time for picture taking. On the negative side, the on board speaker system was so inadequate that rarely could anything be heard about the sights we were seeing. The ride was still wonderful, but it would have been nice to know exactly what we were stopping to look at. The "option" to see the Blue Grotto is one that we found rarely happens. The commitment is to stop for 30 minutes for those who wish to see the grotto to be ferried in on smaller rowboats by a third party operation. On our trip the captain indicated that the amount of people already waiting was a 2 hour wait and therefore we would not stop. A fellow passenger commented that they had taken the tour twice before and that the Blue Grotto option did not happen on those trips either (once because of excessive wave action and once because of the length of the wait). In fairness, HP Travel offers that when the wait is too long, that they will return to the dock and bring you directly to the grotto for the wait and entry. Unfortunately, if you are visiting for the day (as we were), you must make sure that there is adequate time to return to the grotto, wait your turn, return to the docks, and make your ferry back to the mainland. We did not have that luxury and had to miss the Blue Grotto.
When we return (hopefully soon because it is a beautiful island), we will find an island tour that guarantees the Blue Grotto tour. The Blue Grotto option that is offered by HP appears to be a sales gimmick, but again I do credit them with the offer to bring you back after the boat tour. Know before you go.

It was a delightful trip. the only disappointment was that the tide was high so we could not go into the blue grotto:( but he got up very close to it so we could take pictures.

Vale a pena ver a ilha de barco mas…
É preciso encarar esta viagem como um ferry à volta da ilha e não como um idílico passeio de barco…
É de facto bonito dar a volta a ilha pelo mar mas… é um granel de gente com uma fila gigante. A hora para que se compra o bilhete é meramente indicativa. Reserva-se online mas tem que se ir à loja na marina trocar por um bilhete e não é de todo personalizado: com o bilhete na mão vai-se para a confusão do porto esperar pela sua vez como quem espera um autocarro - os barcos estão sempre a entrar e a sair e quando houver lugar entramos.
Os barcos deitam um fumo preto horrível. Por isso o melhor, cabendo, é viajar no andar de cima.
Pareceu-nos que a possibilidade de visita à gruta azul que anunciam é só para encher o olho… e que depois dificilmente se torna realidade.
O guia vai explicando minimamente o que estamos a ver em italiano e inglês com umas graçolas bem dispostas mas nem sempre a qualidade do som permite perceber.
Enfim… encarando a coisa com espírito descontraído… vale a pena.

Looked good so we booked but couldn’t make it last minute and their cancellation policy leaves no room for circumstances. No rescheduling or reimbursement options.

Great overview tour of island. You pass by the blue grotto but have to take a second boat to go in. Hard to describe until you see the process in person. Basically you do a tour around the whole island. They stop/slow at different places for photo opportunities. If you want to do the blue grotto you finish the first tour and then get on another boat to go into the blue grotto. Basically it’s a long line (the day we went, hours!) where you then have to transfer to a super small boat just outside the grotto to get in. Given we only had one day I preferred to see the island then the grotto. Overall a nice experience even without the blue grotto that I would recommend.

I would have given this a 5; however due to my age, heat, & crowded boat & & motion, I sat inside the boat. Taking good photos was almost impossible. The only open window for photos was used by man sitting in area. My husband tried to stand up by door to take photos, but rocking boat made this difficult.

We bought this tour while we were in Capri. It was fantastic. Firstly, the boat ride cools you, if you are going during hot months. Secondly, you get amazing views of all the way around Capri. The boat guides are engaging and funny. They get you very close to all the nooks and crannies around the island.
Understandably, they will not wait at the Blue Grotto, if the line is more than 1 hour. The line is more than 1 hour, unless you get there first thing in the morning. You have to transfer into a small row boat, as that is the only way to get in to the Grotto. We went with the expectation that we would not get to see the Grotto. If the line is long, you are taken back to the dock and can take another boat out to the grotto for free, and wait to get in. The wait is long as there are tons of boats.
