Jean was our coach cum guide and she was fantastic. She was full of energy right from 8.30 when she picked us up in the morning until 7.30 when she dropped us back. I loved her sense of humour and she seemed to genuinely love what she was doing.
Pros:
1. Those who do not drive or do not wish to drive, this is a great way of visiting the lake district as you relax, enjoy the scenery while someone drives you and also speaks to you through it.
2. We got plenty of information from our guide which is hard to find anywhere else. Simple tit bits like information or reviews about a wayside pub, or historic anecdotes about world wars on the way, the touristy information etc.
3. We covered most of the places which are a must see in Lake district.
Cons:
1. As expected, you do not get to spend too much leisurely time at a single spot which some of us might expect. But that's a bargain for covering many places on a single day.
2. We alighted the coach from Chester, but there was a pick up point in Liverpool which very slightly increased our drive time.
But despite all that for those who live locally and visit the Lake district several times, I would definitely recommend trying this one out.
