Indie-deliciousness

We’ve lived in Brighton for 10+ years and thought we knew it all. The tour still managed to surprise us with some new (and delicious) local independents!

A lovely day out in the North Laine

The tour was excellent. We visited a whole bunch of places that I'd never even thought to have gone to before. They'd clearly thought quite a lot about the kind of places that would be appropriate and Simone's knowledge of the places was excellent. Cat was also really easy to deal with in the booking process and was happy to add on a few extras late in the piece, which made the trip really good fun. We had a baby in a sling as well - worked a treat. Weather also played into it, which was good!

Delicious Food and wonderful people in a vibrant city

What a fantastic tour, Alex was a brilliant guide leading us aound five independent eateries in Brighton whilst weaving in history about the city. We met some really passionate people who talked enthusiastically about their food and of course tasted some really delicious samples, and you will finish the tour feeling well fed! Alex also made recommendations for dinner that evening - Alex if you read this Chilli Pickle was the best Indian I have been to, thank you!

Fabulous Food Tour,Not To Be Missed!

We weren't sure what to expect, but the tour was so much more than just walking round the streets nibbling on a few things! Even though we are local and my husband has grown up around Brighton, we visited welcoming, independent traders we never knew existed and tasted fabulous food.
Our guide Gill was lots of fun and very knowledgeable about the area as well as the food and even managed to take us to a pub my husband had last visited when he was 17 years old!
We have already been back to take friends to taste some of the great food and made sure we told the traders the VIB tour had introduced us to them.
Best tip is to make sure you have not eaten before you go!

Wow!! Eclectic, informative and an amazing experience.

I haven’t stopped talking about this experience since I arrived home. Alex, our guide, was really personal and very knowledgeable. Every place we visited had an amazing back story. The food at every stop was stunning. It surpassed my expectations. I would recommend this to anyone with a love for food,

Food Tour for Hen Do

I chose the VIB food tour for my hen do (16 of us!). The tour was so well organised with great communication beforehand about food intolerances and dietary requirements all catered for. Claire & Simone (our guides) were fun, knowledgeable and kept the tour well paced. It was great to discover some hidden gems & what a great variety of food, from Vietnamese, vegan, beer, cheese & wine. All the girls loved it!

Brighton Food Tours went above and beyond - can't recommend enough

I can't thank Brighton Food Tours enough for accommodating my parents on an adjusted VIB weekend tour that allowed for some mobility restrictions. After buying a voucher as a gift, we had a series of bad news and I didn't think we would be able to use the voucher. However Cat and Ange and tour guide Ashley went out of their way to enable us to take part and it meant a great deal. The experience was fantastic so I would have recommended in any case but I really can't thank them enough!

We were not blessed with good weather, but the rain didn't dampen our spirits and we went to 6 incredible stops and learned a great deal about Brighton's history and a number of other independent food places that I am looking forward to trying. All of the stops were great but a highlight was the incredible English cheese and rose in a cosy wine bar with a great sommelier in training. All of the servings were generous and we all came away very well fed, with extra to take home in some cases.

I would very happily repeat the experience and wouldn't hesitate to recommend for a group outing whether you are visiting or living in Brighton.

Great Tour with a great Tour Guide!

What a fabulous tour! Alex our guide was very knowledgeable about City of Brighton and although we have visited here many times we still learnt many interesting facts that we were not aware of! The stops at 6 Foodie places on route were great and varied - advice to all - do not eat before this tour! This is a must for all who visit this lovely seaside town, who would be interested in seeing different aspects of Brighton off the main drag. Well done Alex for providing such an entertaining three hours!

Insight into the independent and ethical side of Brighton's food venues

Excellent way to get an insight into the independent and ethical side of Brighton's many and varied food venues via a tour of the unique Brighton Laine area - received as a birthday gift.

The pouring rain did not put us off a casual tour around the North Laine with our well informed guide Ashley, dropping off at The Flour Pot Bakery (a micro-chain), Happy Maki, Earls, Brighton Sausage Co (fine for veggie and vegans), The Wine Cellar, and Boho Gelato (inc vegan ice cream) - with many other VIB venues referred to and discussed on our route.

The very well-informed and interesting talk at The Wine Cellar stood out, with a sample glass of an English Rosé from Hampshire accompanied by two excellent local cheeses (Sussex Brie, Pevensey Blue).
