It s bust a Ferry to cross the river.

As I've always wanted to go on the Ferry whenever I visited Liverpool it wasn't bad but a bit on the short side.

Thank you for your review Mark, we are glad you enjoyed the ferry and learning about the history through our commentary. If you would prefer a longer cruise please consider our Liverpool Bay cruises which are 3 hours long and travel out to the mouth of the river - these cruises have live commentary onboard too.

This is one of those things that you feel it would be good to do and perhaps see some of the things that the river has to offer tourists but......
Having done similar trips along the Thames in London, this one has nothing like the same experience or things of interest to see.
The 'recorded tour guide' that was played as we went along was out of sync with the items that it was talking about on each bank so we were past them before we got any information, not that it really mattered that much as they were not really that interesting.
This was disappointing for me as there was nothing really of much interest to see along this part of the river and, other than you were on a 'Ferry across the Mersey' I would have been better off saving my money.
The famous 'Liver' building and other tourist bits could all be seen from the bank anyway as you walked past, so save your money and take a walk independently.

Thank you for your feedback, we do talk about the many buildings and docks of historical significance that you can see from the ferry and we are currently installing GPS technology that will mean the commentary does not get slightly out of sync when the tides and other traffic on the river affect us.

A wonderful ferry ride with a good history of Liverpool and Wirral spoken over the tanoy. Could of stayed on all day. Very relaxing and great views of the Eurovision village and outdoor stage. Very had working staff nice little cafe sells alcohol too.

I thought we were going to be taking a trip on the multicoloured boat, as seen in the picture. There was no order to getting on or off the ferry, more of a scramble. Having said that, the tour was informative and we did enjoy ourselves once sat down.

As far as I can remember, you cannot book a specific time slot. You make a booking online for the day that you want and when you get there, the ticket office will allocate your tickets for the time that you want, providing that space is available. If you arrive there in plenty of time, there should be no problem. You can find all the details and make bookings, on the Mersey Ferries website. There is a cafe next door, where you can get food and refreshments, whilst you wait.

I have had a look at their website and can't see any specific discounts relating to your question.
