We booked tickets a while ago as a treat for my 9 year old son, and his friend’s, birthday.
Tickets booked for a slot at 11.15.
We spent over £40 alone getting there, only to be told when we arrived that it was shut due to health and safety and they couldn’t be sure when it would be open.
Moisture in the slide due to weather conditions.
An email had been sent that morning but I hadn’t checked my emails.
Gob smacked at the poor customer service. At the very least a text message would be a more reliable way of making sure customers see the message and don’t waste money, time not to mention manage expectations.
From the sounds of things this is a regular occurrence . Either the slide is opened late or not at all. The staff are clearly advised not to share how often this is the case the line being ‘ I can’t share an average of how managers times this happens as it really depends on the weather’.
However, upon further questioning it seemed at least 5 times shut and 7 opened late in the last month.
I am not criticising the need for stringent health and safety measures. However, it needs to be clear on the website that there is a strong chance this might happen and attempts at communication need to be improved.
Apparently we will receive a refund but it’s unclear when.
DO NOT BOOK IN ADVANCE. You can not guarantee you will actually get to ride. Very disappointing.

The ArcelorMittal Orbit in Stratford best place I have ever visited in London. For abseiling, enjoy the views up in the sky and, even slide down the slide! Despite any given panic due to the height of the sculpture at 80metres high.

Erg leuk om te doen
Dit is de plaats waar Benny & Bjorn van ABBA hun Voyage plannen bekend maakten
Zelf zijn we met de lift naar de 2de verdieping gegaan waar je een mooi uitzicht hebt over London
Prijs ( zonder slide) 14,50 pond
met de trap kun je naar beneden en kan je het voetbal stadion van boven af zien en ook de ABBA Arena
Bij veel bezienswaardigheden kun je stil staan en luisteren naar geluiden die uit de boxen komen die er hangen, ook kun je abseilen maar vond ik leuker om naar te kijken dan het zelf te doen!

Totally unorganised . The check in desk had such a long queue and it took ages . Also they should check people in according to their time slot, which would mean shorter queues. The man on the check in desk has a bad attitude for no reason apart from it being busy. Toy are not informed when you check in that you can’t take your phone on the slide and need to buy a token for the lockers so you have to go back to check in and join the hideous queue again !! Totally u organised ?

I have booked the tickets online and it did not mention there were separate slide tickets and I thought it was included in my ticket.

I booked via virgin experiences and went for the cake and tea as part of the experience.
The reception staff were not very welcoming.
Unable to print off our ticket for the cake and tea,- that’s not here fault.
We did get to see some views of london.
We were expecting to have tea and cake at the top to really appreciate the views of london - that didn’t happen
U had to leave the building and go to the cafe next door where a grumpy staff member wouldn’t except our virgin ticket that said we had paid for cake and tea. We then had to across to go the main office and get them to write in a piece of paper to confirm this
Overall very poor experience

If you are in the area then visit. If you have children they will love the slide, as will some adults. The slide takes 40 seconds approximately. View is good but will be better once all the building work around has been completed. It is quite expensive for what it is. Not a cheap family day out. Doesn't take long to go around the viewing deck. Both inside and out. Could do with the interactive screens being tilted downwards slightly as it is impossible to read them on a sunny day. The shop is basic. The staff are mostly friendly and helpful. It can take around 45 minutes on the Central Line from Ealing Broadway but journey times obviously vary depending on where you travel from. If you go, arrange something else for the children, especially if you have had a long journey, as you can do the Orbit in well under 1 hour, including the slide.

I brought 2 teenagers to ride this slide last Friday. So 1 adult and 2 14 year olds. Our time slot was 12.15… so bear in mind that does NOT mean that’s the time you go down the slide! They didn’t let us inside to the reception until 12.15… no one on reception first so we had to wait about 10 minutes. Once all checked in, photos taken then the wait for the lift we actually rode the slide at 12.55.
Says on website wear long sleeves, that means nothing as they give you arm pads and a padded hat to wear. People had short sleeves on and weren’t stopped from going down. Once on the slide it was great fun! Scary ride with lots of twists but we’d definitely ride it again! Loved it and highly recommend 😀

After a slight delay in being checked in, the staff Ozzy, Sarah, Anya and Luke were fab. They were really helpful and made the whole experience fun. Sarah was really lovely at the start and Luke certainly put me at ease at the start of the descent. I would highly recommend this experience, as the view was fab. It felt safe and Covid secure too, which was a bonus.

I have booked to the the slide with my daughter a month and a half before going. I know you can plan everything but cannot plan the weather, and unfortunately on the day we went it was blowing a gale and pouring with rain. We got to the slide and was told it was shut and I should have received an email. Now when I go to London or anywhere else for a day trip, I don't make it a necessity to check my emails. My phone only comes out if I get a phone call or to take a photo. I was told I could rebook or get my money back, which I elected to do as I am not sure when I will be back in the area. A very grumpy receptionist who could no even look at me told me that I would get a refund in 4 days !!!!!! Surely these days refunds are instantaneous and we could have done another activity with the returned money. Communication or lack of communication should I say seems to be the order of the day. I did get 3 emails which I looked at after we left but surely a phone call is so much better and can stop anyone turning up especially if they have to travel quite a distance. One plus point is the member of staff who we spoke to at the top. He was so friendly, very helpful and a pleasure to talk to. Shame no-one else gave that impression
