After looking at all the Jack the Ripper tours and the complaints about nighttime crowds, I searched for a daytime tour and found Stephen. I could not be more happy with my selection. Knowledgeable, personable, and full of information, Stephen went above and beyond to make sure I saw and learned everything about the Ripper, Whitechapel, and the history of East London. Can't recommend highly enough!

The stories, films and documentaries you see all come together on this fascinating, complete Tour, featuring the places, the facts and thoughts, the feel and experiences of the period. The people involved and the records and what they reveal. The walk was extensive but easy to do, with a nice tea break en route.
Stephen has researched the subject and added humour and the ability to paint pictures of the era, and most importantly, put that across in a way that we enjoyed thoroughly

Dies ist eine 5* PLUS ! Bewertung !!!
Wir haben nun schon die zweite Tour/Ausflug mit Ye Olde England Tours (Stephan) gemacht und sind total begeistert. Stephans geführte Touren suchen seinesgleichen. Seine Touren sind gut recherchiert, spannend, lustig und zugleich lässig und anspruchsvoll. Stephan kommt wunderbar mit allen Menschen klar (auch mit unfreundlichen Teenagern :-) kennt die kleinen und großen Geheimnisse, die auf einer Tour durch London erzählenswert sind. Er kennt nicht nur die Fakten, er weiß auch ganz genau, wo man SEHR leckeres Essen bekommt und wo die nächste Toilette ist;-)
Auch wenn man nur wenig englisch spricht, sind die Ausflüge absolut empfehlswert. Man versteht sich :-) auch mit Händen und Füssen.....
@Stephan : Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit, die wir zusammen verbracht haben ! Der nächste Ausflug ist schon in der Planung.

That has been our second tour/trip with with Ye Olde England Tours (Stephan) and we are totally thrilled. Stephan's guided tours are second to none. His tours are well researched, exciting, fun and at the same time casual and challenging. Stephan gets along wonderfully with everyone (even grumpy teenagers :-) knows the little and big secrets that are worth telling on a tour of London. He not only knows the facts, he also knows exactly where to get VERY tasty food and where the next toilet is;-)
Even if you speak little English, the tours are absolutely recommendable. You understand each other :-) also with hands and feet.....

Stephen was superb as a tour guide, friendly, funny and so knowledgeable, we had a private tour and he was so flexible with our requirements, adapting the start place and times to work around our needs. I would highly recommend.

This was by far one of the most fun and informative tours I’ve been on! Stephen was friendly and also very flexible with our start time, which my family and I appreciated. I highly recommend him.

We were escorted by Stephen, a simply superb guide. Knowledgeable and very communicative. He walked at a good pace and we were taken to all the key sites. Thank you Stephen it was memorable.

Great tour! Stephen was very informative and engaging, and despite the awful English weather kept our group interested and chatty. I had multiple colleagues from abroad who found the tour extremely interesting and were left with a keen interest in learning more! Would highly recommend this tour!

I remember that day so well. We had about the worst weather of the whole year but it was nice to meet you all. It was a pleasure to show everyone from around the world the sights of Jack The Ripper's Whitechapel, Spitalfields and Aldgate. Thank-you for your review, I really appreciate it.

Did a couple of tours with Stephen in early March. He was extremely knowledgeable and just generally a really nice bloke. I was a bit strapped for time so did two tours in one day, Jack the ripper and the Churchill tour. I was a bit unsure about spending the whole day on a 1 on 1 tour. With Stephen it wasn't an issue, he was really interesting, provided thorough and lively explanations of every site and even answered all my stupid questions without complaint. Especially enjoyable was our trip on the train when he explained in detail the history behind the underground and each stop along the way. The highlight was when a foreign TV crew was so impressed by his knowledge of Churchill - they decided to interview us!

Thanks so much for your great review. I'm really glad that you enjoyed your day with me, especially with two such contrasting tour themes and very different areas of London.
I'm still a bit impressed with myself that we got to the war rooms to the second at the right time after all that.
The TV crew was a highlight for me too but it was really nice to meet you and I will always remember our two tours.
