The option to meet at our hotel is why we chose the longer tour. Steven arrived early and took good care of us all morning. My husband is not a Dickens enthusiast and in hindsight it would have been safe for him to entrust me to Steven.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself and saw places that Dickens wrote about: Marshalsea Prison and Little Dorrit’s Church were the most emotional for me but seeing where the young Charles Dickens lived while working in the shoe blacking factory brought me to tears.

Hello! I hope you're both keeping well. Thank-you so much for your lovely review of our Charles Dickens tour. I'm ever so glad that you had such a good time and got to see so many important but rarely visited places from Dickensian London.

Thankyou for your great review of our great :-) Private Charles Dickens Walking Tour. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and had fun with Kevin. It's one of our favourite tours especially in the run up to Christmas and all things Christmas Carol. Thanks again!

Our guide, Kevin, was THE BEST, knew his stuff. Met us right on time at our hotel and the tour started immediately. Down alleys, through parks, in and out of pubs. If you're a Dickens fan do not miss this tour.

Stephen was great. His knowledge of London is 11 out of 10 and he is very friendly. We’re big Dickens fans, but this tour is for fans of all interest levels. Also, he was very generous with his time, making several diversions from the route to see things we asked about and even taking us to a few new locations he had discovered a day or two earlier. That kind of attention makes the higher price of this tour worth it. We definitely plan on checking back in with Stephen when we’re back in London for one of his other tours.

Hi there! How you doing? I remember our tour so well because as you say, I literally just added a few new locations the day before and half an hour before we met! They are really cool Dickensian locations though so well worth it. Thanks for your great review and I'm so glad that you had fun.

This was a great tour and Stephen was a supremely knowledgeable and erudite guide! I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to ramble about London with Stephen as he pointed out the many historical features of the areas we saw. I had inquired about a tour focused on Charles Dickens and A Christmas Carol and got a whole lot more than that! The ultimate highlight was our ending place - the George & Vulture Chop House (Pub). What a thrill that was!! The current owners were very friendly and it was a thrill to relax at the end of the tour and share a pint of ale. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it!!

Thank-you so much. That was such a great day and it was fantastic to meet you and I ended up creating a whole new Christmas Carol tour after our afternoon. Yes the George & Vulture is something else isn't it. Thanks again for your amazing and very kind review.

Kevin was a fabulous tour guide! Not only did he show us Charles Dickens sites, he shared so much London/British history! He was so kind and enjoyable for my husband and I to spend a morning with!

We spent the morning with Stephen our guide learning all about Charles Dickens & his inspiration along side the history of the region. We ventured through secret alley ways nooks and crannies of old London. Places we would never have found on our own. Stephen is a fabulous guide full of knowledge and has such a wonderful personality making the day fun and informative. Highly recommend if you have and interest in history and or literature 😊

What a magical day that was. Doing a Charles Dickens tour on Christmas Eve and visiting so many places relating to Scrooge (amongst others),
It was such a pleasure to meet you both and I'm following the rest of your holiday through Europe with great interest!
I know it's a long way from Australia but I do hope to see you both again one day.

This tour was amazing! Kevin, our guide, shared his encyclopedic knowledge not only of Dickens locations but of London in general. Every corner and alley, he offered a new, fascinating nugget of information.
We loved the fact that, as a tour for just the two of us, we could move at our own pace and ask questions without the worry of slowing down a group tour.
I will definitely book with this tour company if I visit London again.

Thank you so much for your great review. We love all our tours but especially the ones where we can go off the beaten track a little.
Kevin enjoyed meeting you too, the highlight of our job is always to meet nice and interesting people from around the world and sharing our love of the history of London with them.

This walking tour is equal parts Dickens and London. I had an exceptional experience with Kevin. What better way to learn about the city than through the eyes of one of it's most famous inhabitants. I believe that you would not have to know much about Dickens to enjoy this tour. It encompassed so much more than I ever thought possible. I lived in London for a time and am quite familiar with all things Dickens yet I learned/experienced/observed so much more! Kevin was so knowledgeable about London, about history, about the origins of expressions and about Dickens. The perfectly paced tour covered so much, I’m still soaking it all in weeks later.

Thankyou for your great review. We’re delighted to hear that you had a such a good time with Kevin on our Charles Dickens Walking Tour.
It does take you through various parts of London which though key to Dickens and London itself, aren’t necessarily the first places tourists would visit on their own.
It’s always fascinating to visit the locations in real life and interesting to follow Dickens from his childhood poverty south of the river all the way up to leafy Bloomsbury when he was accomplished and living in luxury.
Thank you again and we hope to see you again one day should you ever return to the U.K.
