Informative circuit of York on the hop-on hop-off service. Particular mention for Sarah (Northern Irish guide at Exhibition Square) who was very helpful and enthusiastic, which enhanced our experience.

Over a long weekend, we made regular use of this Hop-on hop off buses (24 hour tickets, on 2 occasions). This is such a useful and informative service. With such a regular amount of buses, we were able to visit all the places we wished at our leisure. Our guide Tom gave us a fantastic experience and was very knowledgeable and friendly. Thoughrally recommend if you are in York.

Great way to get overview of York. Especially enjoyed the live tour guides over the audio version. We took the bus around twice and then hopped off at a site.

Two days sight seeing in York booked the two day City Pass. We used the City Sight Seeing Red Bus several times. On our last Journey the live guide was an amazing guy. I didn't catch his name but he was from the North East. He was so knowledgeable and funny that we wanted to stay on past our stop. Excellentvwsy to find out about the city and also to get around.

We made full use of the 24hr ticket , using it on the Monday afternoon and the Tuesday morning . The pre recorded commentary is good however on Tuesday on our bus the tour guide "Joy-Ann" was on board and she was excellent, an absolute fountain of historic and local knowledge supplementing and adding to the prerecorded commentary enhancing our tour. She is a credit to the company.

The views were amazing and we took so many photos.
Don’t buy tickets online, just get your tickets from the exhibition square.

We went for a weekend in York traveling over from just outside of Liverpool and booked this Hop-On-Hop-Off ticket to see the sights of the City, This is our second trip to York but have only been over to the Christmas Markets and it rained all day that day but our day for our tour was lovely and bright.
We got to the meeting point to collect our tickets and get on our bus which was easy to find as we walked the walls to Exhibition Square. We had a 10 minute wait for the bus to arrive and made our way upstairs to get a better view, Great choice. Our tour guide was Maisie, She was outstanding from greeting people to her knowledge of York. We planned to get on and off but stayed on the whole tour because of Maisie and the information she was telling us. So glad we got her as our guide. Would recommend doing this tour as we found a few places that were pointed out while on the bus like the oldest Inn in York, which of course we popped in for a quick drink, But we would of never found the Inn without Maisie.
The day ticket lasts for 24 hours and you can get on and off as many times as you like.
The price was only £16.00 each and well worth the hour tour even if you only do that. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting York and will keep everything crossed you get a fab guide like us. Thanks City sightseeing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our bus tour last week.
We had friends with us from Canada and Panama, plus my partner's elderly mother and we all had a great time. We also leaned lots of interesting facts about the city of York and it's inhabitants over the years, thanks to the very friendly and professional tour guide Adam.
We were upstairs on the bus and got lots of great views of this amazing city. The bus trip was around an hour long and covered all of the main points of interest.
Great value for money!

The views were fab, great historical tour, clear guide very nice, totally recommend this bus tour reasonably priced. As there is lots to see in York you may not get around all the sights this is a fab way to see York.

Try as I might, I cannot find an answer to this !
I have booked through 'Get Your Guide' and it says I have to show the QR code to exchange for a physical ticket.
Is there some sort of office at Exhibition Square??
No idea why I cannot just show the driver the QR code !?!?!?!?!

is there more than one bus running? If I hop off at a certain site, how long will it take until a bus can pick me up at that site?

There is a rough time-table available. The major stops are serviced regularly, on minor stops, you may need to make your presence known . Normally buses run about every 15 minutes.

What do you accept as valid student ID? My son is 19 years old and a full-time student at Drew University in New Jersey, USA. He has his Drew student ID so will this be sufficient to show if I get him a student ticket for 13 GBP?
