Overpriced product that didn’t work properly. Nobody at the tourist centre had the authority to make it work.
You pay for convenience and it gives you inconvenience. Even though you’ve booked it, multiple places didn’t accept it. One major place said it doesn’t work well as a product. You end up begging them to let you in even if the customer has done nothing wrong.
The product is expensive as it is - £59 per person and you only have a limited amount of time to go to attractions if you’re doing a day trip for example.
You’re basically paying for a 3rd party product so no one takes responsibility.
E.g. the York Dungeon doesn’t let you in and the tourist centre doesn’t have the staff capability to fix the IT problem with their system or refund the money without going through some hoops.
Your day will be spoilt if use the York pass.

I decided to come to York for a few days as I had never been here. As I was on my own I decided to go for the 2 day York Pass.
100% worth the money. It also gave me some ideas on what to visit. I will list below what I visited (in no particular order) but I have worked out that I saved £107 by doing York this way.
Jorvik Viking Centre
York Dungeon
York Castle Museum
Clifford's Tower
Sightseeing Bus (stops 7 to end)
Fairfax House
York Minster
York Cocoa Works Tasting tour
York Chocolate Story Standard Tour
Roman Baths
Barley Hall
Merchants Adventure Hall
York Historical Gems walking tour
Van Gogh Immersive Experience.
Having the pass encouraged me to do things I wouldn't normally have thought of and I saved more than the price of the 2 day pass.
Everything listed above is within walking distance. My feet are knackered, but I found having the pass a great way to see the city.
For some of the visits you need to book ahead. In all the places though they ask you for your 6 digit pass number and keep a record of it.

Wow, this was definitely worth the money. I did a lot of attractions in one day. It's easy to use and people are very open to accept the pass.

What a great day. We opted for the 1 day pass and managed to do 3 activities. If we hadn't had other obligations, we could easily have done at least 1 if not 2 more activities. We started with the Yorvik museum tour, and this is a must see/do activity. We then went to the York Castle Museum and then the York Minster. We could have also done the hop on hop off bus and possibly the Van Gogh experience. Well worth the price. Would recommend for anyone interested in seeing several activities in one day.

I visited York for a weekend with my 10 year old. We purchased the 1 day York pass online for the Saturday (£59.00 and £35.00). The confirmation was sent to my email immediately and the passes were attached as pdf with QR codes.
We used the passes to access The Van Gogh immersive experience, York Castle museum, Jorvik, York minster and York Chocolate Story.
Had we booked these visits direct with the attractions they would have cost £80 for an adult and £41.20 for a child so they definitely saved us money.
If you’re planning on visiting several attractions in York it’s definitely worthwhile checking to see if the York pass can save you money. I would definitely use this if I visit again

This pass was amazing and a must for a trip to York. We went for a week and decided to buy the 3 day pass after much thought. We saved over £100 and we didn't rush at all. Most of the attractions are very close. In one day we did Van Gogh, Fairfax House, boat cruise and York museum. None of which we booked and none of which we rushed around as they were all very close. Every city should have one.

I'm feeling scammed, got a york pass, but paid more for less. If you take into consideration most places opening 10 until 4 pm, you have a really tight window. About 30 mins que 1 hrs to get around not including travelling. We paid £60 EACH for 7 people, NOT CHEAP, only enough time to see 2 attractions. I recommend saving your money and taking your time, at least paying for it as you go You might have the time to enjoy it.

York City Pass - 2 days: What excellent value this is, especially if time is limited, saves queuing. You can book times for specific venues or just turn up at others which surprised us, a great money saver.
The Hop on- Hop off bus (Golden Tours is included in the pass) full of information and the ‘open top’ is great fun, drivers really know their stuff about everything ‘York’and the views are great.
So many venues and activities to choose from, something for everyone.
Would highly recommend!

Brilliant pass saved money and did not have to wait to get in to some of the attractions just make sure you go to the York Centre to get your pass to your mobile or to have them printed out

I am not sure, you would have to check for definite, but all they seem concerned about at each venue is that your pass is valid. I would think you can probably visit more than once but can’t confirm this.

Yes. But the second you get on the bus the 24 hours begins if you use a 24hour Pass.
