Excellent walking tour. Very informative and very interesting. Guide 100% knew the history and displayed it with a passion. Easy to understand and follow. Would thoroughly recommend- had a great time.

We were fortunate to be the only two on our tour with Alfred. What a treat! Alfred shared an endearing story of the impact that a former teacher had on his love of York’s history. The tour he gave, starting from Roman times through the medieval ages, was fascinating and enriched our understanding of York. As we asked follow up questions it was evident that Alfred’s knowledge of York’s history is comprehensive. This was one of our three favorite highlights of our UK trip.

Excellent tour, very informative and interesting, I would highly recommend it. This was my first visit to York, the tour covered a lot of the central city/ historical building and sites going through the ages from the Romans to present day.

We are in fact currently putting together a tour that would be a second part for people who want to go a bit further and especially those who have visited York before - watch this space...

Our favourite part was the Initial section to the rear of the Library covering the timeline from Roman architecture to the present day. Our guide Alfred was very friendly and kept our attention throughout.

Alfred our walking guide was really pleasant and knowledgeable and we both really enjoyed the guided tour. We both felt engage and also there was lots of interaction with questions and answers as you go around the Tour. Overall excellent he certainly knows hi stuff.

Excellent introductory 1.5 hour walking tour of the sights and extensive history of York. Sarah is extremely knowledgeable and is a natural at presenting the layers of historical events and landmarks in an interesting, engaging way.

Not really sure tbh. The walk does a lot of stop-start activity - all outside - so there is no reason why someone with a dog could not join the walk.
However, not sure about whether guide would want dogs. You need to ask this question of the company

Visiting York Sat 3 Aug and looking for a walking tour suitable for my girls 6 and 10. Does your tour suit or is it mainly history and buildings at adult level? Any of the more gruesome elements included Horrible History style? Thanks
