Our American family of 5 (with young adult kids) had THE BEST time with Daniel on our Bath tour. Daniel taught us engaging Bath history through personal stories, myths and tales, and taking us right up to the history itself as we walked and talked. He’s a delight to spend an afternoon with, and we would recommend him to everyone! You can see how respected and liked he is in the city he grew up in by the interactions and smiles he got from each place we stopped. His stories and stops like to the local cheese shop were extra fun and special. He made our trip to Bath so special and memorable. We highly encourage you to book with Daniel and enjoy the sights while learning, laughing, and loving your experience. Any tour he offers will be outstanding. Thanks again for a great day Daniel!

Our company visited Bath for the week, with team members flying in from all over Europe. We organized this tour as a special event for the entire company, and it exceeded all expectations!
Daniel was absolutely fantastic—his deep knowledge and engaging storytelling brought the city to life. He connected with everyone in our group, making the experience enjoyable for all. Many of the team are already planning return visits because they were so inspired by what they saw and learned.
As someone who’s lived in Bath for four years, I was amazed at how much I discovered about my own city. Daniel’s insights made me appreciate it on a whole new level.
Truly an incredible experience and one I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting (or even living in) Bath. Five stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First, Bath is a wonderful place to visit, and we highly recommend it.
Now, on to Bath Insider Tours. Without going into super deep details, we can only say that Daniel was a treat to spend a couple of days with. As a native of Bath, he has a deep affection and appreciation for the city and the surrounding areas coupled with a great understanding of its history and culture.
Daniel also carries a "bag of tricks" with him that turns a walking tour into a mulit-media experience. He will pull out photos, videos, and music to animate his commentary. Actually, commentary is not a good word, it is story telling the entertains and enlightens at the same time.
We give Bath Insider Tours our highest recommendation without reservation.

My husband/I been blessed to do private tours past 20 years all over the world and Daniel is truly the best! That is saying a lot as we are discerning travelers! His communication is great as well as guiding style supplemented by iPad, music, snack - really goes above and beyond!! Did 3 hour Bath tour and his car was great for seeing views, etc. He delivers the history in easy to understand and humorous way and has the best personality!! Would love to tour with him many times over!!!

We loved our day with Daniel. Lots of historical facts, local stories and some legends. Daniel was so easy to talk with, ask questions. Saw everything we wanted to see and he also gave us extra hints and suggestions. Great day.

While in Bath recently, we had the great good fortune to have Daniel Hancock of Bath Insider Tours provide us with two memorable tours.
On the morning of our first full day in Bath, Daniel greeted us at our hotel, and as part of the "Bath City tour," whisked us to a nearby peak from which we viewed Bath in its entirety. Not only were we able to enjoy the splendor that is Bath, we also got a "lay of the land" which was most helpful in the days that followed.
Returning to the City Centre, Daniel took us on a robust but reasonable walking tour which included many of the sights that we expected to see, and others which only a long-time native would know to share. This three hour tour came and went before we knew it, and it whet our appetites to revisit most of the sites on our own.
On the following morning, we joined Daniel for the "Hidden Secrets of Bath" tour. As much as we enjoyed the prior day's tour, this outing was equally as interesting, though unique in its own way. Our walk along the Kennet and Avon Canal was a pure delight as was our stroll through Sydney Gardens, just to name a few of the memorable sites that we visited.
Daniel also brings current and near-current events into his tours in both a meaningful, and at times, humorous manner. While viewing the Pulteney Bridge, he pointed out a section of the adjacent balustrade that was a different color than the rest. He whipped out his tablet, and we watched a video of a delivery truck careening out of control and smashing into the railing. Fortunately, nobody was injured and another tidbit of Bath history was made!
Daniel is extremely personable, and fun with whom to spend time. His knowledge of Bath, both past and present is impressive - there wasn't a question that he was not able to answer! He also possesses an incredible ability to "read" his clients very quickly, and to modify the tour/itinerary accordingly. From a planning perspective. Daniel is a punctual communicator, both at the time of booking, and shortly prior to the actual tour.
Having recently returned home from our three week visit to southern England, we remember Daniel and his "Bath Insider Tours" as one of the highlights of our trip!

We had a great time on our tour with Daniel, and we wouldn't have enjoyed Bath near as much as we did if we'd seen it on our own. Daniel is funny and personable, and we enjoyed the trivia questions he threw out along the tour. We started the tour with a view of Bath high on a hill above the city, and at the tours end Daniel guided us back to a spot in the city we wished to return to. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Daniel took our family around Bath for a 3-hour tour. He was great at keeping everyone entertained and interested, both children (9y and 10y's old) and parents. He had plenty of stories, anecdotes, music, etc to share. He also managed to improvise a detour via ou hotel for us to fetch warmer clothes and via a small cafe preparing great hot chocolate - as the children were getting cold. We warmly recommend.

Hi Kristine. We do not go inside any of the museums during this tour. You will hear about the history of the Romans and the springs along with lots of other interesting stories about Bath as we walk around the city. If you would like to visit the Roman Baths museum I recommend allowing around 1.5 hours to visit it so you could either visit this before or after the tour. During these times of Covid-19 you will need to pre-book your tickets for the museum. I hope that helps!

Hi QueenBecky. Unfortunately I am fully booked for July 5th and at this stage I am unlikely to get any cancellations. If you struggle to find a guide you could join the Mayor's Guides free walking tour. They have two tours: one at 10:30am and one at 2pm - both start from outside the Roman Baths. These tours are open to the public and thus are shared group tours. I hope that helps and I hope you have a fab time in my home city!
